Your cheerful 'Well hello there friends!' makes me smile within the first second. Followed up with a great yet easy tomato soup recipe, and the reappearance of the Ol' Painless of blenders (and a daring balancing trick indeed!) + the grilled cheese makes a very entertaining and appetizing show. This combination on a rainy Sunday afternoon is magic.

I hope you do more soups in upcoming episodes (it's getting to be that time of year). Most people don't realize how easy it is to make soup, so they don't. Last place I worked before I retired was a senior living facility and we had scratch made soups every day - one at lunch and a different one at dinner. It was challenging coming up with 14 different soups each week. But it was also one of the best parts of the job.

My Dad made the best tomato soup in the world, the first of the backyard crop always used for it. We had about 15 plants of about three or four various varieties, two plants of cherry just so my oldest brother and me would snack off them off the vine to leave the beefsteaks and others alone.

You sir bring back childhood memories for me. We had a great big half acre of a dozen different kinds of tomatos. All us kids helped pick what was needed through out the season. Anyway it always turned into a big rotten tomato fight between us and all the neighborhood kids and there's a certain smell of overipe tomatoes permitting the air and little no seeum bugs or knats buzzing around us and great big green tomato worms that were flung at each other along with some squishy overripe missiles in the very hot Mississippi sunshine....ahhh good times, lol.😎

Chef, I love your attention to detail. From the bread and cheese being precisely the same size. Using a squeezer for the sour cream. Even your cleaning methods. It is all thought out, rationally, with purpose. And yeah, there is nothing inherently wrong with American Cheese. It is stable, melts evenly. It is a bit less interesting than many others, but for certain applications it works well. If you ever have the chance, check out Tillamook cheese from Oregon. I've been to the plant so many times. It is a shame Brandon cheese is largely defunct, they made a great garlic cheddar. And I need to find my photos from my old blog, CheeseADay, where I made a cheese a day :) Shout out to shack farms for their wonderful people and great cows.

Amazing video as always! I need an immersion blender some day.. I cook grilled cheese very often, and.. MOST STOREBOUGHT SOUPS ARE GMO NOW
Gotta love the USA :S but, homemade everything is better to begin with.. NOW, if you don't cook at home, you are 'getting what you pay for.' Reaping what we sow is fair, I hope to cook more for mum. Thanks for sharing these videos! you will save lives by inspiring folks to cook for themselves!

My day is now complete seeing Chef JP - I do believe I am a 'super-fan'! I have just finished one batch each of the beef, vegetable and chicken stocks - they are indeed incredible in any dish, as I have done several of your beef and chicken dishes. I doubt my results compare in any way to yours, but I will say that my ability to produce a delicious meal has improved 500%+ since learning from you, and I am grateful. When friends who have eaten my (previously) 'mediocre' cooking now ask "Where did you learn these recipes?" and "This is simply delicious", well, it is quite the compliment - of course I tell them where my new cooking superpowers were learned! In any case, tomato soup was next on my list to try, so your recipe today is right on time for me, and TY as always. And I hope you will stay safe from any effects of Hurricane Ian my friend.

Made the soup. It was awesome. No surprise though - haven’t found a single one of CJP’s recipes that isn’t.
