On this cold and rainy day, you just solved the "what to serve for dinner" dilemma! I especially for meatless Mondays! Thank you for sharing your talent and excitement!
Your cheerful 'Well hello there friends!' makes me smile within the first second. Followed up with a great yet easy tomato soup recipe, and the reappearance of the Ol' Painless of blenders (and a daring balancing trick indeed!) + the grilled cheese makes a very entertaining and appetizing show. This combination on a rainy Sunday afternoon is magic.
Thank you for the recipe Chef Jean-Pierre. I will fix the tomato bisque for my son, since it’s his favorite soup. Stay safe from the hurricane. I live across Alligator Alley from you in Naples. Fingers crossed that we are all spared from the storm
I hope you do more soups in upcoming episodes (it's getting to be that time of year). Most people don't realize how easy it is to make soup, so they don't. Last place I worked before I retired was a senior living facility and we had scratch made soups every day - one at lunch and a different one at dinner. It was challenging coming up with 14 different soups each week. But it was also one of the best parts of the job.
My Dad made the best tomato soup in the world, the first of the backyard crop always used for it. We had about 15 plants of about three or four various varieties, two plants of cherry just so my oldest brother and me would snack off them off the vine to leave the beefsteaks and others alone.
@@jackiewinters5792 Thank you 🤗❤ So many wonderful memories, my Dad started teaching me how to cook on my fifth birthday in 1975, and even though he showed me how to make his soup, I could never accurately recreate it, he died when I was ten in 1981.
You sir bring back childhood memories for me. We had a great big half acre of a dozen different kinds of tomatos. All us kids helped pick what was needed through out the season. Anyway it always turned into a big rotten tomato fight between us and all the neighborhood kids and there's a certain smell of overipe tomatoes permitting the air and little no seeum bugs or knats buzzing around us and great big green tomato worms that were flung at each other along with some squishy overripe missiles in the very hot Mississippi sunshine....ahhh good times, lol.😎

In my humble opinion, this is the BEST comfort food. I was thrilled to see the swiss and american cheese in the sandwich. I thought I was the only one who did that. I will sometimes switch out the swiss for Brie. Omg, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. 🥰 I usually put a piece of butter on the top of my tomato soup. I never thought of sour cream. I made this recipe, and it was delicious; my wife and children enjoyed The Tomato Bisque and Grilled Cheese. like Chef said, share with your neighbors, I did and they loved it. Social Points baby! Thank you Chef, for teaching me Mise en place, and disinfect as you go, it makes cooking enjoyable. I have extra, put in freezer, unfortunately it will not last for 17 years. Ha ha... You’re amazing, like a long lost Uncle.
I'm glad that when I put everything into freezer, I won't have to cook single meal after seventeen years... Great idea! I will save a lot of time. 👍🏻😂😂
Chef, I love your attention to detail. From the bread and cheese being precisely the same size. Using a squeezer for the sour cream. Even your cleaning methods. It is all thought out, rationally, with purpose. And yeah, there is nothing inherently wrong with American Cheese. It is stable, melts evenly. It is a bit less interesting than many others, but for certain applications it works well. If you ever have the chance, check out Tillamook cheese from Oregon. I've been to the plant so many times. It is a shame Brandon cheese is largely defunct, they made a great garlic cheddar. And I need to find my photos from my old blog, CheeseADay, where I made a cheese a day :) Shout out to shack farms for their wonderful people and great cows.
One of the first dishes I made after watching your videos for the first time was the Tomato Bisque. I don’t know about 17 years but it tastes amazing after being in the freezer for six months.
