Man B-series engines are so easy to work on. I know doing engine work can be daunting, but this platform is one of the EASIEST to learn and work on (there's so many resources out there, endless forums and videos). You just have to do it, the timing job will be super easy because you'll have to take the head off anyways and doing a head gasket on one of these engines can be done in a single afternoon (or a couple hours once you become experienced). Just make sure you use quality parts, quality seals, and make sure you have a quality torque wrench and you'll be fine. You'll probably develop an itch to go even further with it after a successful job! That's what happened with me, and now I have a running and driving K-swapped sol that I did completely alone with only youtube and Honda forums as guides.

There are a couple inconsistencies or outdated info in the videos but overall they’re good. For example, one of them says b series oil pans are either vtec or non vtec, but that isn’t exactly right. The B16A uses the same pan and oil pump pickup as the non vtec B18 and B20. It’s the B18C pan that is unique with the block girdle and different oil pump pickup. Also, always confirm torque settings with the factory service manual or manufacturer of the parts (ARP head studs, etc).

Maybe you have your oil pan on too tight they have to be twerked out to a certain spec once I loosen mines stop dripping
