When you cross a grade crossing you must blow the horn in the sequence "==O=" (= is a long blast, O is a short blast) and ring the bell. (per FRA regulations) You also have to turn on the bell when beginning to move and while doing switching.
A little insight to what the model numbers mean: AC- alternating current for the electric used to power the wheels. 4400: 4,400 horsepower C: C wheel setup, meaning 3 axles per truck. B trucks mean 2 axle. W: stands for wide-cab. The common on today’s locos. The big nose compared to the smaller nose you see on the SD40’s and GP series.
You hit the Emergency brake. You locked the train and now it no longer moves in real life, good job😉. (I run trolleys at a Railway Museum. You NEVER hit the Emergency brake unless you NEED to.)
So you're asking about the paint. Companies like to paint their trains with a combination of colors similar to how airlines paint planes. It's called a livery. CSX Corporation (CSX) uses a combo of blue, yellow, and grey. Norfolk Southern (NS) uses black with touches of white (or they paint trains to look like companies that they have purchased). Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) uses green and orange. Union Pacific (UP) uses yellow with touches of red and grey. Canadian Pacific (CP) uses red with white lettering. Hopefully all these companies will get their own route in this game. I came here to check out this game and see if it was worth getting, but you're funny as hell so I subscribed :)
I did this on Peninsula Corridor at full throttle. Waited until about 35 MPH and bailed out. Shockingly it didn't fail me until it detailed near the end of the line despite it missing all my stops and going through several red lights.
Gray.... I am a safety guy for a railroad company, and we have a couple of locos that are basically identical to the first locomotive you moved in this one. All interiors are very accurate, all switches are where they show them... even got very accurate engine starting sounds. Really good job by the developer.
Speaking as the most amateur of train engineers (I was got to drive a museum piece up and down some out of the way tracks), that setup is pretty accurate.
Grey, the engine acts as an electric generator on locomotives of today. It just supplies energy to the electric motors that move the train. The electric motors are what supply the 4400 HP
16:55 Went to the fridge to get a beer immediately after hearing this, knowing full well Gray slowly creeps toward failure as I do so. Ever hear of the FRA, Gray? I'm sure they would love you after seeing you pull this one off. PISS TESTS FOR EVERYONE!
you can couple on both ends of the locomotive. for realism, you could couple from the rear. but if your just having fun, connect it to the side if it'll work and have fun. lol
Lots of knowledge is needed for trains, even though some like me don't work on railways, lot needs to be known, the codes of the horn honking, speed limits, lots of more stuff.
Yeah, you had several incidents where you would have definitely been pulled out of service(fired) in a heartbeat from the stuff you just did in his video😂😂😂 love it!!!
Hey gray, I really like your tsw videos. Do I was wondering if you can get tsw2 and their is a fun glitch you can do. If you pass a red signal or derail, quickly pause the game and save the game and go to the main menu. Once you've done that, go to continue saved game. Once you've did that, you can wander around and do whatever you want.
It's fun trying things like this. On Peninsula Corridor I jumped out of the moving train at 35 MPH and left it at full throttle. The train continued, past several red lights, and didn't fail me until it reached nearly the end when it detailed.
The game needs a Cost Model continually updated in real-time in a sidebar for some kind of financial 'survival mode'. As you dilly-dally in the yard running engines and burning expensive fuel, the sidebar decrements your company gross capital with your hourly wage, the dwindling fuel supply owned by the company that is now burning in the engine, and so on. Eventually a big buzzer sounds and you see a net value at the bottom of the sidebar in the negative in red color. Then I'd play this cuz it would no longer be boring. :)
TSW used to have derailments but because IRL CSX derails a ton they asked dovetail games to take out the derailments because they didn't like seeing their engines derailing also there are way though to get a derailment there are many glitches just look it up
29:30 thank me later
Thanks. - 1 year later
Thanks
Thank you
Thanks ya man 🤙🏻
Thanks, you saved me a lot
I repair locomotives and im actually really impressed with the realism in this
if you want realism, play Run 8.
17:10 Yep, Realism 2.0
shenanigans
Michael Murphy ok
Aye me to

Are you actually required to ring the bell at whistle crossings in the USA?
We don't have to as long as we're blowing the 14L
Spencer Ali it depends on your company’s regulations
Btw. Long is "-" and short is "." normaly
i wish in any locomotives like ac4400cw gp38-2 sd40-2 es44ac sd70ace c40-8w gp40-2 gp9 f7 and mp15dc
in the csx liveries

28:26 JUST THE TIP!! i lost it when he said that. Great vid Gray
You hit the Emergency brake.
You locked the train and now it no longer moves in real life, good job😉.
(I run trolleys at a Railway Museum. You NEVER hit the Emergency brake unless you NEED to.)
guy #1: ho no, we're going to crash!
guy #2: don't worry, we're trained for this.
HA HA so funny I forgot to laugh
(when the trains are about to collide)me: OH YEEEEES
(plop)
me: -_-
I like trains
@@TheHammerAndSickleShow Zrooommmm
One of the funniest videos about trains I've watched, thank you. 🤣🤣🤣
"...so many lines, SO MANY LINES!" says the man who builds thousand floor hotels 😂😂😂

LOL cool video, you did pretty good for your first time on a Train Simulator
Releases all brakes then immediately leaves train lol
It’s unstoppable all over again
Yes it is bois!
Not a train engineer but first thing I thought about when he left the train LOL
So 777 or 8888 ?
I did this on Peninsula Corridor at full throttle. Waited until about 35 MPH and bailed out. Shockingly it didn't fail me until it detailed near the end of the line despite it missing all my stops and going through several red lights.

i was thinking it's incredible the developer has this much knowledge of not only locos but game development as well!
I was looking for train wrecks and I ran into one of my favorite UA-camrs . Glorious FLORIDA MAN GIVE ME TRAINS
Honestly, as a diehard Railfanner who plays this game professionally. It’s fun watching someone goof off :)
You cant get anymore realistic then this awesome video
That moment when he says honk the horn “twice” before a crossing. Smh.😂just messin, but it 2 long, a short, and a long.😂 4 horn blasts.Great Video!!
Gray the reason why that top fan in the middle wasn't spinning is because it's the dynamic brake and won't spin unless its turned on.
Favorite UA-camr awesome
Speaking as the most amateur of train engineers (I was got to drive a museum piece up and down some out of the way tracks), that setup is pretty accurate.
lol i love your comedy video the way you talk to the train and stuff grate work
How did you manage to read the map wrong xD. Either way great vid p.s you left the engine room doors unlocked
l m f a o
Dude your commentary is AWESOME LOL
I didn’t know Gray still plays this game GET IT GRAYSTILLPLAYS
I know it’s a bad jok
Grey, the engine acts as an electric generator on locomotives of today. It just supplies energy to the electric motors that move the train. The electric motors are what supply the 4400 HP
James Lampe Good to know
Lol so the engine is a huuuge alternator
*fabulous* gray as always
CSX is a real train corp, and its is its color.
I think you should do more of this it would probably be cool
You don't need to change the reverser to 'N' when braking. And yes you are right, the color scheme is the company CSX. Blue/Yellow.
Train sim world and fernbus are my favourate games.
Bryson Grondin been there done that. And got fired! Lol that was another life. Great job if you get a yard job with some decent off days.
Some of this equipment is incredibly accurate. That in cab radio is modeled right after a motorola spectra.
you can couple on both ends of the locomotive. for realism, you could couple from the rear. but if your just having fun, connect it to the side if it'll work and have fun. lol
Train Crossings: Its actually a 2 Long Horn Sounds, One Short, and One more long while you are going across the crossing.
Cool video!
i love watching your stuff,,keep up the good work
Blue and yellow is CSX's Color Scheme but i'm sure you figured that out lol great video
so love trains
I love trains and I study them all the time. Normally the first 2 numbers on the side is the class number
Florida Man: Nice day for a train ride
Gray: Yes.......!
Florida Man: 🥺
gray trains can work going backwards and forwards they are multi-purpose forwards and backwards
No the scary part about this this is literally teach me how to drive a real train not at all details but you just started up one for real
I LOVE your vids
Lots of knowledge is needed for trains, even though some like me don't work on railways, lot needs to be known, the codes of the horn honking, speed limits, lots of more stuff.
Oh man this game is amazing, awesome. 👍👍👍👍👍
When i have enough free money, this is a must buy. I had my doubts. Thanks for the series! More, please?
Cool video. Thanks for sharing I liked and subbed to your channel 😃👍
Yeah, you had several incidents where you would have definitely been pulled out of service(fired) in a heartbeat from the stuff you just did in his video😂😂😂 love it!!!
Yeah, I'm an engineer in real life and it's weird watching him and seeing all the violations he is making.
Hey gray, I really like your tsw videos. Do I was wondering if you can get tsw2 and their is a fun glitch you can do. That was awesome great video
Could you do another one of these? it's really cool.
I like the blue & yellow livery for the locos. It helps that that's my brother's colour scheme.
GRAY DO MORE!!!!!!!!PLEASE I LIKED!!!
hey gray nice video also that game is so realistic
As an avid railfan and a future train engineer this game is very realistic
reward earned lol. thats like a participation trophy for losing a ballgame
this game is awesome
love the videos! i am now subscribed and notification on
WOW that was sooo coooool
" Is there anyone there?" Yes, what do you see?" GOAL RIGHT AHEAD!"
Is that even a game!? That is reality!
I wish I could meet gray in real life;maybe even make videos with him
please make more gray love yur vids
You mean to tell me that Telltale’s Walking Dead didn’t properly teach me to operate one of these trains? What a swizz!
This game is just epic
My father does this IRL for Queensland Rail at Mayne Yard, I joined him once, and I can say. The realism in this game is incredible.
upon hearing his voice, why did You Dont Know Jack pop into my head?
Io I Love your videos 😎
If there is a hand brake, does that mean that it can do a handbrake turn? Just try to picture that!
ua-cam.com/video/5RzTKU7Q3jg/v-deo.html
The fan that wasn't spinning only spins when the dynamic brakes are active.
Ah, very specific.
just what every teenager needs to no ,Lolo yea kinda real ! gewd job !
Gray when he used to try at video games
There's no way you're going to remember all of this without a crib sheet.
OMG THIS INTRO IS SO UNSATISFYING!!😂😂😂😂
I LOVE UR VIDEEEOOSSS GRAY!!
Learning how to work on a train good for you.
Love your content I just subscribed

Well that was quite anticlimactic..... that that would be a massive understatement

My friend, do your videos how YOU want to do them. your true fans will watch them regardless
Gp38-2 locomotives, the one that you were originally on, has a 2000 horsepower
I saw that lol
I like trains
I came here for the crash, but I couldn't help but watch the detail
That box in front of ya when sitting in drivers seat is a heater. And yeah man, that simulation is pretty legit.
It's fun trying things like this. On Peninsula Corridor I jumped out of the moving train at 35 MPH and left it at full throttle. The train continued, past several red lights, and didn't fail me until it reached nearly the end when it detailed.
Its very good
Dude, I starred swinging around 22mins. Lol
I love when people don't know about trains play a train game. Its funny how many people don't know what most of this stuff is.
I found a cool thing from the work shop for brick rigs
when someone else (like gray and me) uses emergecny brakes to come to a stop:
ah, i see you are a man of culture aswell
Cool you forgot to lock the latch. LOL!
The graphics over the top
TSW used to have derailments but because IRL CSX derails a ton they asked dovetail games to take out the derailments because they didn't like seeing their engines derailing also there are way though to get a derailment there are many glitches just look it up
Awesome freaking game! wish they had TSW for ps4
I want this game so bad now
