This was one of the strongest earthquakes most people have experienced on the East Coast Maine/NH region, it shook houses, my dishes were literally rattling. Crazy stuff
Strongest one I've felt since 2012.
yeah i felt it in Connecticut. We had another unprecedented one last April. I'm in my 40s and never felt an earthquake but now have felt 2 in less than a year.
3.9-magnitude earthquake centered off New Hampshire-Maine coast 1631pm 27.1.25 the way things are going, folk are going to be feeling somewhat left out if they're haven't been involved in a quake.
the jersey quake shook my house harder than this one…
@@loucipher6839 Comments on ‘Earthquake centered off New Hampshire-Maine coast’ 27.1.25 1923pm that's cool... the masses of the globe will all be clamouring to be part and parcel of some future natural disaster so they can be on telly or feature on you tube...
felt it here and im over 320+ miles from maine…
In 2025, a noticeable increase in the frequency of earthquakes of magnitude 6-7 in tectonically active zones is predicted. The Pacific Ring of Fire will show higher activity.
In 2026, the number of magnitude 7 earthquakes will grow significantly. Faults considered stable will become active. In Yellowstone and other supervolcano calderas, a significant increase in seismic activity will begin, and gas emissions will become more frequent.
In 2027, earthquakes of magnitude 8 will occur more often. Volcanoes that have been dormant for a long time will become active.
You sound like you've thought this all out so I believe you. Do you think yellow stone will blow? Like blow BLOW ?
@@TashaCherry-b9h Thank you. Yellowstone is stable for now. The most dangerous place on the planet right now is Siberia. There's a magma plume that could explode soon. It's a giant bubble of hot magma that could destroy everything in its path. It's the size of Australia.
@@TashaCherry-b9h And right now, all that magma is rising from the depths to the surface, melting the Siberian platform. That's why Siberia has been heating up 2-3 times faster than the rest of the planet in recent decades and is warming the entire world.
The explosion from a breakthrough of the Siberian plume will be a thousand times more powerful than the explosion of the Yellowstone caldera. In addition, it could start a chain reaction of supervolcano explosions all over the planet, eventually making it uninhabitable.

Same in Newmarket, we had thought that a train had derailed, seemed to last about 8 seconds. No damage.
As a Newmarketer I agree it sounded like a bomb went off before the house even started shaking and windows making crazy sounds
This felt more like a bomb blast, not an earthquake.
Yes, I thought there was an explosion in my basement here in Somerville, Mass.
yes i knew it, here in maine (midcoast area) where i live my f'n trailer started shaking weirdly, i was telling my oldest who lives 10 mins from me in the same town, what was going one, she thought it was the wind, i go no because i have gotten 60-80 mph wind thru and my trailer barely moves...i knew it thank you for confirming my suspicion (we live in the bowdoinham) so yeah we are south of augusta. the (2nd one in my lifetime) the epicenter was like in dresden maine, felt it, went right thru my trailer, shifted it, which isn't so much leveled like it was (minor damages) and VERY LOUD. so this one will be my 3rd the first one i felt is was when i was a teen and was in freeport at that time my sisters and i were visiting our father, we were all sitting at the kitchen table playing card when the house shook. my stepmother thought it was s d warran in westbrook that blew up, nope next day we learned it was an earthquake
Definitely felt it in Portsmouth 🫨.
I think should all take the rest of the day off work to emotionally recover
Lmao😂
Great idea. I felt it in Milford NH and I have decided that I will rebuild.
Me too. I'm in Kittery
Easy for you to say. Some of us need at least a month or two. Let's start a class action suit against our employers. They should have known this was coming and made us stay home where we were safe.
I'm in Manchester NH and my whole house shook for like 8 sec then again like 3 sec later you could feel just a much smaller shake but that only lasted a couple sec. First time for me ever feeling an earthquake and I've lived here for 49 years. Crazy. I thought my son was jumping around on our back porch! I even went as far as to call him to see if he was home yet. That's when I found out it really was an earthquake. Lol. My son gave me an alarming look when he got home because I thought it was him. I can't stop laughing.
I live in Exeter and I only felt one tremor
Felt it all the way north in Littleton nh. The 2nd one I recall in 2 years for here
USGS says 4.1 magnitude.
They downsized it after they initially reported it
They always downgrade earthquakes. Always. Why?
3.8 now
They use the Mwr scale, the 4.1 is Mb scale.
@@joyhill7315 Different seismographs across new England compare their data. When it's first reported it only comes from one of course
Felt in Exeter just before I was getting in the shower. My tall coffee cup was half full and it was shaking so hard that the coffee almost spilled out. My whole condominium building was shaking and I thought it was about to collapse. Fun stuff. Born and raised here in New Hampshire and this is the first one I've ever actually felt myself.
Also Exeter! I was walking down the street to my building from our laundry room (in another building) and I heard every single building on the street start creaking and shaking. I only felt a slight shake but all the buildings on my street are historic so it was definitely precarious! And loud.
Felt it all the way on the VT/NH border in Walpole, could be the worst one in town and Cheshire history.
My sister, in Twin Mtn, felt it at her office.
It did seem to go on for a while
felt it in farmington, felt POWERFUL even though i didn't feel shaking i sure heard shaking.
I live in Lowell MA, the whole house (170ish year old) had a couple good shakes, the house actually moved back and forth. Haven't felt them in years, use to have them in St. Louis but they lasted longer.
Old structures typically have a better chance at surviving than most of the new builds 😅.
I felt it I'm in concord
Also in Concord. I knew it was an EQ.
@karengriswold4537 I thought it was an explosion in the laundry room in our building lol
This was wild
Felt it in Plymouth MA, interesting how there is is no aftershocks.
right? thats pretty big for no aftershock.
"We're on top." Of course we're on top that's why we felt it.
Hope all r ok
I live in cape cod and I felt it
I felt it in mass… my second earthquake I’ve felt.
This was my first one ever I'm from Beverly Massachusetts all my stuff was shaking on my desk and my whole bed was shaking I felt it pretty strong.
It's the 3rd one I've felt, in SE Mass, since 1985
Felt it in Gloucester, MA. Thought my washing machine was off balance 🤣
Seabrook! I thought my mobile house was going to get wings..
Derry, NH my TV almost fell over
Derry, Maine?? LOL 🤡 🤡 🤡
I live in Woodstock vt and I was at school and felt it everyone did it was kinda cool
Same in Manchester. Could feel the shaking and heard glass rattling. Lasted about 6 seconds.
It felted in Lawrence Massachusetts
I work In Wilmington Mass, live in Danville NH. While at work in Wilmington Mass I felt the whole Building shake, around 10:20 ish. did not think of it at all, do to a lot of Constriction happening around the area! than got out of work a 2pm and heard on the radio a earth Quake happened. thats when I thought about the time, and wow it was the QUAKE.. Holy cow I felt it in Wilmington Mass..
I felt it in Londonderry NH it shook my whole house
Kilometers? Give me a break. This is America. Are we supposed to be impressed.
I thought a plane crashed at Pease, they fly over our complex all day and night.
Its funny i felt the last one from RI off coast of new york right away i lived in northrn arizona and felt the 1999 quake sept 4.0 Everything on my walls shook back then so didnt my bed.,i wsd in it wlke right up
I was in the bathroom and didn't feel anything, but my wife mentioned the couch and floor shaking in Hull MA!
Rochester at 10:22 am. 15 seconds
They were fracking
for shale oil
Felt it in Concord, was on the 3rd floor of a 200+ year old house. Loud rumble for about 6 seconds and the house shook a bit. No damage. Sounded like a big truck going by. I checked the time 10:21.I knew it was a quake, not scared, not the worst I've experienced here.
I'm in Kittery, Maine, very near the epicenter. This was really really scary - there was an explosion type sound that sounded like a propane tanker had exploded nearby. There were waves of air compression. The house actually bounced up and down (we are on marine clay).
Baaaaa, felt it in Keene. Just a friendly little shake. Lived in Hollister, CA "Earthquake capital of the World." Don't be Skeeerd.
I live in Northfield, NH and we definately felt it, shook the house for a few seconds
Only felt one quake, it felt more werid than scary
Felt in Londonderry, MHT and Goffstown.
Jesus is coming serious warning be caution.
In Portsmouth, it was 2 large explosions. Not much rumbling of the earth so much. Quite alarming, Initial though was it was a terror attack.
Many tunnels and underground structures have been getting destroyed. I believe that is what a lot of the seismic activity in odd locations are from.
Lol at one point I thought Russia was trying to f around and find out
Felt it here on Cape Cod, was very subtle but knew a shaking house wasn't normal.
It's the 3rd one I've felt, on the Cape, since 1985
felt it in western connecticut! and last april we had a bigger one that was in NJ. A few days ago there was a smaller one in NJ as well. This is highly unusual.
😮
Im CT also...what time was it?
Everyone is saying 10:22am
@@joseferwin83 about 10:20ish
It was very loud in Kittery. Some stuff in my basement fell over.😮
I felt it in stoddard NH !!!! I was outside and it felt like I was on a boat it freaked me out! I thought I was having vertigo
My house in Dover shook hard for about 10 seconds!
Felt it in east Wakefield. It was loud but quick. 3 or 4 seconds. Then another wave came right after. I knew what it was afterwards
Felt it in Milford. Thought it was a truck going by my home. First time I've seen comments on WMUR?
I SLEPT THROUGH IT 😭 I've never really experienced an earthquake and I really want to!!!
No you don't. This was really really scary - there was an explosion type sound what sounded like a propane tanker had exploded nearby. The house actually bounced. I'm in Kittery, very near the epicenter.
@somuchtoknow1950 You don't know what I want homie.
Earthquakes are not scary.
Tornadoes every single week was scary. You can SLEEP through an earthquake! You can't sleep through a tornado! Trust me.
Mmm hmmm down by the sunroom okay...walls rattling....mmm hmmm. Riveting stuff
I felt it in Concord! It knocked things off the walls.
Felt it in Chelsea Ma couch felt like it was shaking.
I was taking rip off the bong, thought it was just GREAT STUFF.
my Mom felt it in Strafford
Felt it here in Raymond, NH. Rattled my whole house!
The one in 2012 was worse centered in Hollis Maine
I live in Northwood.. didn't feel anything at all.
I live in Northwood too and didn’t feel anything either
Be grateful -- it was terrifying at the coast
I am in Rochester nh I didn’t felt it.
Do we have to worry about any waves?
I felt it
I felt it over by Rochester. Heard a loud bang sound and our house started shaking. Thought it was a huge truck or something driving by, but there was nothing!
Felt it in Wilmington MA
work in North Mass and felt it
I felt it strong here in Beverly Massachusetts all my stuff was shaking on my desk and my bed was shaking too it was so weird. I never experienced an earthquake before. 🙂
tiny shake in Keene, thought it was my washer off balance for a brief moment. I'm a Native Californian so it would have to be a 8.7 or higher to get my attention. lol
It's not the same as the west coast due to the American craton plate. So the energy wave travels further.
Bull, it was stronger in Walpole for some reason lmao.
Biddeford around 10:15ish. I didn’t know what was going on.
pre-cursor of whats to come? of was that it? hmmm?
We are entering the Exctintion Level event it happens every 16,000 years there is a reset every new age we enter. The elites and politicians all know about it and only they will have bunkers under the Colorado Rockies mountains that will be the safe zone and they wont let anyone stay with them either.
I heard it more than I felt it. It was like a big truck was parked outside my window. Hanover, Ma.
Felt it pretty strong, in ossipee n h
Did the Tsunami hit yet?
It's the 3rd one I've experienced, since 1985, SE Mass
Not an earthquake
Repent
My plants were shaking.
Vt/ nh line
I felt nothing and I am in Rochester.
it was nothing..a tiny tremmor
Unless you're near the epicenter
Earthquakes in divers places✝️
God's fury. Sinners in NH & ME.
First time ever felt one. Here in candia around 10:20 dogs freaked out and the house rattled everything
