Trick is Beat the Game then Game gives you an Option of Starting Over with a Perk= 4X Times the Experience so every Battle you Win is as if you are Beating 4 the Experience Levels you up fast so you can Beat Gades. If they made Gades as Powerful as he is Supposed to Be There would be no Chance. One of the Issues I have with this Game they Weaken Gades Extremely. In Lufia 1 Gades is the 1st and Most Difficult Sinistral to even Win against!!!
@@shadowvolante2750 I beat him leveled 30 with Maxim and high 20s on the others. You need a few things to go right early on like he doesn't do a physical attack on Tia or Selan which will kill them. Go in with Maxed IP and equipped with items to IP attacks to lower his attack and speed (Guy and Maxim), Holy Wings on Tia and Mind Ring (enables her to cast Stronger with IP) on Selan to vastly increase their healing capability. Use these off the bat to heal your team from the first max strength Destructo Wave. Have Guy and Maxim lower his attack and speed with IP attacks. Repeat the sequence a 2 or 3 turns and Destructo Wave isn't all that bad and Tia will come first. Then you can heal if you need to with Tia or boost defense which will castrate Gades even further. Raise Guy and Maxim's attack then wail away. It is actually pretty easy if things go your way the first few turns since the effects of the IP attacks don't fade. Never played the first Lufia. But other than the first Gades fight none of the Sinistrals are challenging or really require planning to defeat in Lufia 2. In fact, if you got a fair amount of stuff in the Ancient Cave, the latter ones are barely even a fight.

This theme brings back memories.. this game was so awesome and one of the best rpgs in my childhood. Very underrated game and so packed with content.

So glad I discovered Lufia 2. If not for digging around for a game that scratched the Golden Sun itch, it never would have happened.
Lufia 2 is the spiritual predecessor of Golden Sun infact with turn based 4 party system and Djinns are more unique version of Capsule Monster.
