Even though I filmed this last week, it snowed again last night! But it’s not as cold now so not as much of an adventure 😂 Hope you are all staying warm unless you’re in the southern hemisphere in which case hope you’re keeping cool!
We are in NC at the foothills of the Blue ridge Mountains. We didn't get any snow but it is definitely cold here.
@@kathy3178 stay warm! That’s a gorgeous part of the country to live in :)
We got a slight dusting of snow here in the No GA mountains. It was so cold-lows below 10 degrees and highs in the upper20s/low 30s. To help stay warm and cozy I made a big pot of venison stew and baked a loaf of bread (in the bread machine)
My grands love it when I turn our kitchen table into a fort for them. They will play in it for hours.
Stay warm! Have a great week and blessed Shao.
I don’t put bullion cubes or powder in my soup. Lots of msg and very salty. Look at the ingredients in osem powder mix. Lots of msg.
We call Me Fireflys recipe pearl couscous. One of my boys makes it and drops it off to me. I love it, it's the only couscous I'll eat. I don't eat humous at all. I don't like the texture.
We are in between storms in Rhode Island. I am grateful to HASHEM for a clear day. I had to take my former husband for cataracts surgery. All went well!
So glad it went well and you had clear weather to safely get there! Baruch Hashem!
I think all kids love a fort and yours was amazing! I look forward to Monday's because I get to see see you, Chana! You are a jewel!
Thank you so much! :)
Baby Firefly sounds like a baby bobcat and it is making me smile! 😊 If it helps, my husband and I had to replace our hot water heater just before we got the subzero temperatures here in Michigan. The joys of homeownership 😂
Be careful in this weather. We woke up to freezing rain. I live in Missouri. I so enjoy your videos. You put a smile on my face every time. May God watch over you and bless you and your family. ❤
You be careful too! Thank you and stay safe!
Greetings from central Illinois. We woke up to 1/4” of ice on everything - even our windows! Fortunately, no freezing pipes for us. Since it is another “inside” day, you’ve inspired me to make soup with what I have in the fridge. We will see how that turns out. Is anybody else ready for spring?
Wow that's a lot of ice!!!! I hope you enjoyed your soup :) I am ready for spring!!! I want to go hiking! lol
What a fun day you had family! 🌨️😊
The red leaves covert with snow look so pretty too.
The idea to buile a cozy tent with your furniture and blankets is top! Imagine being a kid and stay, with a lentern, read a book, play....Bravo mum !
One of my favourite soup is thyme soup. The basic ingredients are: thyme, garlic, olive oil, rustic bread and onions. It's delicious, easy to make, cheap and so flavoury.
A big hug! 🍵🤍
Thank you for the soup suggestion! I never should have thought of that! sounds so yum!
Every shade of green looks great on you
Aw thank you! 😊
On Pinterest I found a recipe for an autumn carrot sweet potato curry soup. I make it a little thicker than the recipe but one nice thing is you could easily swap out butter for olive oil and have it dairy free :)
Oh that sounds delicious! I think my kids would really love that too! I’ll be looking that up, thank you!
Can you point us in the direction of a recipe? This sounds great! Thanks.
How cute is Baby Firefly!?! I’m in MD and it’s cold here. We have a well and know what it’s like when you can’t flush a toilet. Not fun! You have an infectious smile and attitude, which is why I love watching your videos.
Aw thank you!!!
I’m in Maryland as well! 👋
So glad to see a new video from you, i needed a positiv voice. We have almost inches of snow where i live in Norway. Have a blessed week
Stay warm and cozy! ❤️❤️❤️
Super cosy and relaxing video today - thank you for sharing it with us! By way of thanks, I have a really easy and delicious butternut soup recipe for you, from my family here in Scotland!
Cut a butternut squash in half lengthways and scrape out the seeds with a spoon. Dot with butter and place cut side up in a baking tray in a medium-hot oven for, say, 45 minutes or so - the squash should be soft and browned.
While the squash is roasting, peel and cut up a couple of large potatoes (this recipe is super forgiving, just use whatever you have!) and put on to boil in a pot of chicken or vegetable stock until tender.
When the squash is out of the oven and cooled enough, remove the skin and cut the flesh into chunks. Add to the pot of cooked potatoes and stock, and blend with a stick blender until smooth, or transfer to your Vitamix to blitz, then return back to the pan.
Add some cream to the soup and gently heat through before tasting for seasoning, adding salt and black pepper if desired, and serving - it’s great with roasted seeds or a sprinkle of shredded cheese on top!
I often add a good sprinkle of ginger or nutmeg to the stock before cooking the potatoes, but I’ve been known to add garlic too. You can also add any other root vegetables you have lying around to the stock to cook with the potatoes - I’ve used carrots and parsnips before, and it was still great. It’s very simple but so warming and delicious, perfect for snow days. I hope you give it a try and let me know if you enjoy it as much as we do!
Thank you so much for your kind words and for sharing the recipe! It sounds delicious!!!
It’s summer here in Brisbane, Australia. Yesterday was 39C and today only 30C. The joys of the season. Stay warm out there. 🩷🙏🏼❄️
Ahhh sounds so nice!
Thanks for sharing your life with us
Love the fort!
Your giggle makes my heart warm!!! Thank you
❤️❤️❤️
Your fort was awesome! I remember doing that with my kiddos. ❤
Thank you!
Cool fort/ tent play 😁😃bet the kids had a blast!
Thank you 🤗 They absolutely did!
Good morning ! 🌞 I never put bouillon cubes in my soup, I only use my homemade broth and my soup looks like yours. I sometimes like to prepare dhal, which is an Indian soup with coral lentils. 😋
Hope you don't have more problems with the pipes. Glad the kids got to see snow, a woodpecker and rabbit tracks. How lucky! 🐇 Won't happen to me in a big city. Lots of squirrels and pigeons though. Have a great week! 💚
We are in the suburbs but we have a ton of fun wildlife! I have seen lots of bobcats and coyotes lately too! And a raccoon!
@@jaroffireflies I remember one evening years ago seeing a raccoon in downtown Montreal walking towards the alley behind the Ritz Carlton Hotel and some big restaurants. Going for the trash bins. What a surprise that was! 🦝
@@martinelanglois3158 yes! I have lived here for so long and never in my life seen a raccoon 🦝
I used to love snow days!
Chana, you look extra pretty in greeen, it matches your pretty eye color! The tent idea is seriously the coolest thing ever, that is definitely a mom win! I'm in New York so it's cold and there is snow on the ground. I have been keeping the heat on longer than I normally do! I love watching a warm and cozy video!!
Thank you so much Sarah! ❤️❤️❤️
PS while I was babbling, I forgot to tell you, on snow days my kids loved to make tents out of dining room table and chairs. Having a two story, they would get cardboard from the garage or their plastic sleds , and slide down the stairs, they would drag a mattress from the bottom bunk to slide into. I was not threith that idea of the stair slide but what to do in snow days???
When I was a Nanny during snow days, we would always have "Sock Fights" where the kiddos and I would find any stray pieces of laundry and try to throw them into laundry baskets. I even had a playlist of orchestral music which made the entire day even more epic, one snow storm in particular I had the Lord of the Rings Return of the King soundtrack playing and it made laundry so so so much fun! (And then we watched Happy Feet and made GORP- Good old Raisins and Peanuts).
I love the idea of a sock fight with the classical music! What fun!
My family loves chicken tortilla soup, Zappa toscana, and broccoli potato cheese soup! I’m sure they could be adapted to kosher. But those are our favorites and my kids don’t really enjoy eating soup. 😊
Ohhh broccoli cheese soup! That sounds so good!
Snow days! Love 'em! ❄️
Me too!
I made your chicken soup (after watching your previous video of you making it) and I enjoyed it so much! It was so easy to make and I still have a couple of containers left in my freezer. I really like watching your recipes.
I am so thrilled to hear that you enjoyed it!!!!!
I use to love to make tents with card table and blankets when I was young then with the kids and grandkids. So fun. Stay warm! We are in a motor home with diesel heat so we are cozy in this arctic storm. Now today its rain! So much slush now not fun any more.
Chaná, I really love that you used tarragon in your chicken soup.
I have to tell you that I look forward to Mondays because it means I can watch a new video of yours when I get home from work. What a treat, thank you Chana! 💙 I lost power and heat for 4 days in Oregon, super cold and snow/ice, not the best week but I survived, lol.
Aw thank you so much!!!!
Loved the video!! The fort looked fantastic. Good mom. Is it that necessity is the mother of invention. 😊😊😊😊
Thank you 😊
The fort looked like it was a fun time was had by all.😊 Loved baby Firefly's commentary while you were thinking out loud on Civil War resorces and he's the cutest assistant director in mommy's arms when you're filming 😊🎥. It's been raining here in SoCal all day so no going out for me. Glad it warmed up for you guys down there by the end of last week.
Definitely a super fun fort!
Shalom Chana! 😊
I so enjoyed this video! I can now appreciate more and relate to certain things! I went to my Rabbi's house last Friday/Shabbat evening and had a bowl of the Rebbetzen's chicken soup! 😊 Also, I'm waaaay up North in WA state where we get alot of ❄!!!
I sympathize with cold weather. So sorry about the plumbing issues on top of staying warm. Good video.
Thank you Brenda! ❤️
Loved the video it was awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you! ❤️
Another very nice video! I'm from New Jersey and we did get a few inches of snow. Chicken soup is fantastic!
Shalom Aleichem!
That is awesome! Glad you enjoyed!
Yes, that was snow! Though my sister used to call it 'icing sugar' (we're in the UK) 'cause it barely covered the ground where I live and she'd get inches derp up in the mountains lol. But snow in Texas!! 😮 That's cool.
Icing sugar! That is so fun!
We are finally thawing out in Arkansas, now it’s going to rain for a week. I’m sure the duck hunters are happy! This time, I didn’t have any frozen pipes! Still praying for Israel! 🙏🏻🇮🇱🙏🏻
Thank you for your prayers!!!
I used to put sheet over my chair when my kids were little, they loved it i love your video there always interesting, have a great day .
Thank you! You too!
That is an awesome fort ! So cosy in there I'd like to crawl in and read a book 🥰 What better on a snowy day than piping hot soup yum 😋
It was a very cozy day :)
Who knew Texas got that cold!! The fort is fantastic-good job momma!
Thank you! Cold weather like this is rare for us for sure!
We live here in Missouri. We have been getting freezing rain so our roads are like skating rinks! Great day to make hot chocolate and stay in. As far as soups go, we love to make broccoli cheddar soup. I will often put potatoes in it to bulk it up. Most recipes require a chicken broth base with milk but you could easily substitute a veggie broth instead. Blessings and stay warm!
Hot chocolate is a great idea! I love to make broccoli cheddar soup this week! yum!
Love love love lasagna soup! And I make an amazing beef stew and can it up in jars for convenience! I Iove one of your crockpot soups and have made it several times!
Lasagna soup sounds delicious!
I live in northern Michigan so it's been cold but we're more equipped than the south to deal with the cold. We haven't had to drip faucets or have any lines freeze, if we did our tenants would let us know. Glad you're staying warm
So glad y'all are set up for it!
After our scorching summer, I welcomed this freeze. I was glad it was not like 2021 and everyone was safe!
I’m glad it wasn’t too bad also :)
Hello, Chana! Here in CT we are at the end of a week of arctic temps too! I had to LOL at your philosophy: Hey, we don't have a functioning toilet, but we are going out to enjoy the beautiful snow! That's so awesome. Hot soup and a blanket fort...great indoor day! Love to all ❤
Thank you!
It's a good thing you know how to manage with the toilets not functioning 100%. I loved seeing the kids' footprints in the snow next to the rabbit paw prints. Soup sounds so good. My favorite soup I ever ate was at a pub in Scotland -- potato leek soup. But I have never made it. I do enjoy chicken noodle soup with lots and lots of noodles.
I have leeks and potatoes on my grocery list now! Very excited to make a potato leek soup!
Oh that's snow. We got about 6 feet of the white stuff . It's going up to 28 today and I couldn't be happier! Stay safe!!
WOW that's a lot of snow!
LOVE your fort!!! so creative! i think our temperatures kissed the 30s during the cold snap, but here in Orlando, we didn’t have snow LOL!
Chana it's also very cold up here in Massachusetts today. It's been cold up here for about a week, but the January thaw is on it's way. I just wanted to tell you I never use chicken bouillon in my chicken soup either. 🙂Have a great week!
Hope you have a great week too!!!!!
Hi Chana! Nothing like good soups or chili's when the cold comes calling! It got quite cold here in Florida also, so a pot of turkey chili got made and warmed us up from the inside. I hope everything defrosts okay without any damage. I remember loving snow days as a child, but as I got older and colder my fondness for snow and ice has completely disappeared! Hence the move to Florida! Stay warm and safe, and as always a pleasure to watch and learn....
So glad that you enjoyed! Thank you for being here!
I use your chicken soup recipe and love it! My favourite soup is leek and potato but l also make what l call "back of the fridge soup" where l just take everything that has been sitting there for too long and boiling it is the only option... That leads to some interesting combinations!!!❤
Ohhhhh as fun as back of the fridge soup sounds, i absolutely need leek and potato soup in my life!
That's a great fort!
Thank you! The kids are still enjoying it a week later lol
Good morning Chana and Firefly kiddos ❤❤ I'm running late!
Good afternoon! ❤️ I’m late getting to comments too lol so you’re right on time to me!
Hi Chana! Snow is a novelty for you, but I live in Pa and just hate it! Waiting for Spring. Shalom and enjoy it!
Snow is absolutely a novelty for us here lol
Midwest has the best of all seasons! Frozen pipes here can break and flood closets, house, and homes so we must keep the heat inside no less than 68. I feel cold around 72. Can certainly understand not using space heaters with small children. Contractors insulate our pipes here -there may be new ways of doing that now-especially if pipes are near outside walls. Very sympathetic to the toilet flushing. Wonder if hot water might help?
The South sure seems to be getting more cold weather than I remember and more tornadoes, too.
As always love your creativity. Was hoping you might have an opportunity to draw. Tent was a great mom win!!
I'm in Arizona, and we did get to freezing, 28, but thankfully no snow, although the mountains around me were covered. Great fort, what's not to love?
:)
After reading a few of the comments here, I’m feeling rather blessed in Montana. It’s been in the mid 40’s for a week and snow has melted. Yay! We all love potato soup, any veg soup with cabbage (sort of a ‘clean out the leftovers’ concoction). Also love wild rice in soup. I tried your spaghetti bake last week and it was a hit. For sure, its a repeat. Thanks so much for the recipe. Stay warm.
So glad tat you guys enjoyed the spaghetti bake!!! Its always a fav here too :) Glad your snow has melted :) And thank you for sharing your favorite soups! my neighbor makes a cabbage soup that I just love.
Would love to see you teach us about the siddur , and how to use it. Love your channel.❤❤❤
Have you seen this video: ua-cam.com/video/iOeUnm-KkFs/v-deo.html ? It's an older one, but I go through and talk about prayer in it. If you were interested in something more please let me know.
Good Evening Chana. The soup looked delicious especially on a cold day.
We had snow for a few days and the temperature was between minus 1 to minus 5 degrees .I hope you and your family are well.
Take care.
Hope things warmed up for you!
@@jaroffireflies The snow is away but It is dry but bitter cold. I hope your weather has improved.
I want to live in the fort a few days! With hot cocoa and books to read! I'm reverting back to my childhood, sometimes it'd be nice to escape for a few days! Blessings to you all. Stay warm!
Right? Such a cozy place to curl up!
You took me right back to my childhood
I loved making indoor tents when I was small
Very cold and snowy here in Scotland
Glad you got a trip down memory lane :) Stay warm!
I lived in NJ until I was in my 50's. I forgot all about leaving the water dripping and frozen pipes. I have been living in South Florida for about 15 years and don't miss the bitter cold and everything that comes with it at all. Now that I am thinking about it, I used to put a small electric space heater in the basement next to where the main water pipe came into the house. Keeping that area warm seemed to help avoid the frozen pipes.
It must be so nice and warm in south Florida right now!
Oh my Baby firefly is getting vocal... Such cute vocals ...I live in Michigan so sow here is a way of life .. Enjoy it while you have it ... Nothing quite as nice as a cozy day.. It lets you stop a bit and just enjoy the slowness .. .. Enjoy.. God Bless
He is extremely vocal lol But its fun!
@@jaroffireflies I bet .. Children are wonderful... Such blessings .
@@wendyjones3586 they absolutely are ❤️
Soo cold and snowy and icy here in southern Wisconsin. Another weather advisory for tomorrow. Impatiently waiting for spring.
Stay warm!
Wow! I'll admit your winter so far, is way worse than ours; and I'm in Canada!
Stay warm, stay safe! ❤
That is crazy!!! It snowed again after this video, totally fun to get snow once, crazy to get it twice! And its barely January!
My niece lives in Haslet, Tx and says it's crazy cold. We here in the Los Angeles area are getting a nice cold rain storm. Much needed precipitation! I never complain about rain, we need it so much. And our mountain community needs the snow for their economy. Love, love, love your head scarf and shirt color. Yay, green💚 My mother-in-law used to make chicken soup with pasta. Simple, hearty fare that brings back memories of cozy suppers with family. It was so sweet that Baby Firefly got to be alone in the fort to explore. Once the big kids descend upon it the vibe will change. Great Mama Bears think of building forts and doing freezing cold walks for their cubs. Chana is a Great Mama Bear! Warm hugs! 🤗😘
Chicken soup with pasta is so yummy! The kids have all been loving the fort and Bella the protector lays at the entrance on a blanket lol
Hi CHANA, here in Arizona it's cold and raining we had tiny snow flurries and hail this morning it's foggy and cold and more rain coming love the snow in Texas and the cozy Ford you made the children ☕️👌🥰🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🐝
Wow snow in Arizona! does it snow often there?
@jaroffireflies on the flagstaff Sedona area up north it does all the time🥰🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🐝
Girly!! What a pain😢.. look into wrapping your pipes in heat tape/insulation!! Hang in there ❤
Leaving cabinet doors open so warm air can get to plumbing is helpful as well, as long as it's somewhere safe from Baby Firefly!
Stay warm, lovely friends!! 💜💜
@MachaMongRuad yes! That can be helpful too! I was thinking if it's an issue with the sinks, if u keep them on a little more than a drip, it can help
Thank you for the tips!
Let the water run in the kitchen at night. Always check the weather forecast.
Hi Chana, the soup looks so yummy enjoy. I can't believe that it snowed in Taxes? But it is Taxes a hot place! Wow did not know. Here in LI NY is around 16 degrees it snowed a few days before, but it's just very cold. Great fort for the kids to play. Baby is getting so big and even though we can't se his face he is definitely cute. Take care and see you next time.
Thank you for your kind words! Hope you have a wonderful week!
Chana, I’m in the pacific NW. We had ICE, ICE for almost 10 days. Everyone stuck at home and poor hubby going slowly stir crazy. It’s melted now just in time for new siding which is being installed. What a winter!
Wow that's crazy! Ice!
It's not so bad here in NE Wisconsin, this past wk was very cold, but that's pretty normal for January here. You just have to bundle up more if you're going to be outside for more than a few minutes. Most people have pretty heavy & warm winter jackets, hats, gloves/mittens & the essential boots & snow pants get worn any time I need to shovel outside. Hope it warms up for you soon.
Snow boots are another thing that we do not have here :)
The snow looks so lovely. Hello from Scotland! We're having crazy weather too-- storm Isha (how funny)! The wind got up to 90mph, and all trains are cancelled and flights diverted. I've never experienced wind so strong before, I could not walk straight.
Wow!!!
Last week it was -11 degrees then add in the windchill and it is anywhere between 20 and 30n below. This week the high starts at about 33 degrees to hopefully 37 degrees. There is about a foot of snow at this time on the ground. The soup that I like is Creamy Chicken and wild rice soup.
Wowsers that is cold!!!! Are you in Canada?
I'm a little late to the party but I'm here now! Pahrump NV got down to freezing and it froze my Well pump- who knew? Husband insulated it and now we're back in business, have a great rest of your day Chana
Have a great day too! That desert for sure can get cold!!!
Interesting! Snow in Texas! It’s cold and snowy here in the lower peninsula of Michigan!! I am just home today! No need to go anywhere! ❤
מקסים הבית החמוד שהכנת לילדים...⛺️
Thank you! Toda!
Greetings from warm and sunny New Zealand .....its more like 30 degrees Celsius here...😎🥵 nice to have crispy cold weather in Texas though I bet 😂 Hope you and the kids enjoy your cozy fun time over the next few days. Love your house tent too!! ❤
Enjoy your warm weather! ❤
White chili is my favorite, but I’m not sure you could make it kosher since it usually has meat and dairy . I know chili isn’t really a soup, but it’s so good. Thanks for the video! I hope y’all warm up soon!
Ya that sounds like it would be hard to make kosher, but it sounds yummy :)
We really like red lentil tomato soup & I use vegetable broth instead of chicken. Red lentils cook really quickly. Then I blend it all with a stick blender and top with cheese or avocado or both. I will even toast cornbread to make croutons if I'm feeling really fancy.
Yum!
Loved the fort. I would have loved a big one like that as a kid. Hola from Cuernavaca, Mexico
Hola! I admit, I enjoyed the fort too 🤣
So used to it 😂. Proud Canadian here
Hi Chana, A big Mom win, the fort, tent idea. My Grandkids Love doing this, but yours looked like a palace, it was so big and cozy! Loved the snow walk. Enjoy, soon in a few months it will be soooo hot in Texas. On the days you are cold, Hot cocoa, warm toast, oatmeal with raisins. simple food. soups are great. Have a great week. I would say also, if everyone is home with their children, why not make a playdate with other kids. One day by you (just a couple hours) , one day by them. Could be a nice change. Have a great week! Love from Israel.
Ohhh now I need to make oatmeal raisin cookies!!!!
We had snow during the week not a lot but it was beautiful. My mammy always said (it takes a fall of snow ❄️ to kill all the germs)and might I added my mammy was never wrong. She told us children that😅😅❤Ireland x
Love that! Thank you for sharing!
As I've said previously, green is your color! Lovely on you. Take care.
thank you! 😊❤️
I hope everything is going well. england is very cold right now lol. no snow though. extremely happy about that lol ss
Here in Adelaide we had 41 on Tuesday!!!!! Staying cool is a challenge!! Thank goodness for air conditioning.
Ah yes we love the ac here when summer rolls around!
I’m in Greenville SC. It got in the teens at night but in the 40’s during the day so it wasn’t so bad.
That's not so bad at all! Glad it was not too cold for you!
I make a vegetable beef soup. I put Beef Broth with a large can of tomato sauce, I add scrambled and cooked hamburger meat, carrots, celery, onions, cabbage, potatoes, a bunch of spices. My family loves it. It’s great on a cold day.
Delicious!
I also love making soup! :) My favorite right now is gnocchi pot pie soup
Sounds delicious!
Great fort. I am in Florida and it is cooler here than normal,50’sat night and 65-75 durning the day. Today, i had the doors open and the house got to 69!
Wow that’s nice weather! We are cold and raining here and it snowed again last night!
It's finally above freezing. I have cleaning to do today. I have trash to take out. It piled up. Inspections are tomorrow. Fun.......
Good luck!
In northern Wyoming, we are finally warming up. We spent a week+ in negative temps day and night. I think our lowest was in the -30s°F. Oh, holy moly, it was cold!! Today was +45°F and a very muddy welcome!!!
I wish I could send you and your kids some photos of Alaska. We have had 8 feet of accumulated snow since November 9th! And we are also in a cold snap, current temp is -6°F. I hope your toilets thawed out, and you're all staying warm!
Oh WOW! 8 feet!!!!! I can't even imagine lol
I live in a camper trailer and we shut the water off after filling the Berkey and several jugs. However we forgot to clear out the black tank so it froze. But we have an "emergency backup" so we were okay. Our power didn't go out so we weathered the freeze okay (at least until the black tank thaws out).😂 My mom's favorite soup was Donkey Fazoo. Rice, leftover veggies, and leftover meat. No real recipe since it was never the same. 😊
So glad you had a backup! Thanks for sharing your favorite soup!
Good morning! 20 degrees here in southern NC! No snow, but it is freezing 🥶🥶🥶
Stay warm! ❄️
As someone who lives in a place that averages 130" of snow a year and can get as low as -40 (without the wind chill) a tip for keeping pipes from freezing, if they are in a cupboard that can be left open to allow your house heat in that really helps! and anytime my washer/dishwasher has frozen I just put a space heater near by on low and can usually use it again in a few hours.
Thank you for the tip!!!
Northern(ish) Canada here...had to switch the weather app to farenheit to get some prospective...we also get "feel like" temps because of the moisture in the air combined with the wind....it'll be a balmy -9 (-23C) at night. Our house is thankfully winterproof (but definitely still need the wool socks and sweaters) but my barn not so much...so I still deal with all the water woes - not fun!! Frozen toes and frozen nose everywhere I go!
Yesss wool socks are everything in this cold weather!
Tuscan bean soup, French onion soup, fresh tomato soup with basil, and of course minestrone
Thanks for the suggestions! Love tomato soup 🍜
Lucky you getting snow!! ❄️ It has been very cold in NC (for us) but no snow!! 😢 I don’t think we have had snow for 2-3 years now (in my location). I love to make
the first footprints in snow! 😂
Favorite soup is broccoli and cheese!!!
I stay warm with my electric blanket!! 😊 We heat with natural gas but will use space heaters in the bathroom. I’m sorry your toilets and washer froze!! 😩
We often don’t get snow and when we do, it’s rare that it sticks. So even though this wasn’t much, it was special! Broccoli and cheese is so yum!
@@jaroffireflies😊 it doesn’t usually stick here either. ❄️ ⛄️ 😢 totally agree that when it does, it’s special!! 😊
I hope the little ones (& Bella) are having a fantastic time. Bless their hearts. It does look like snow but it could be a heavy frost. We're hosting storm Isha at the moment. The winds are at/ have been at 100mph. I expected to lose part of our fence, but it's still standing. My grandsons' therapy dog (Ralph) has been barking at their front door regularly, not understanding the wind is rattling the door knocker. On the seventh eruption of him barking Eloise resorted to taping the knocker and letterbox down! 🐶😂🌪 We use lagging (pool noodles cut to size) on our outdoor pipes. Just gives an extra element of protection. Maybe you could do the same?.
Stay warm, stay safe, stay home, stay happy.
Thank you for your kind words and the pool noodle suggestion! We do not have any exposed pipes here, and none are insulated in side the walls. Just the way they build houses here :) But we are staying warm and cozy here in the house! Hope you have a great week!
Thank you. We now have storm Jocelyn here. I was having a race with one of our wheelie bins this morning. (It's 4.02pm here.) It beat me to the road but luckily there are only nine bungalows here, so neither of us suffered. Well, I mean, there's my dignity but hey hoe. Have a good day. Thanks for the uploads, you're actually helping my memory in the strangest way. I've managed to retain your name and face this week without having to keep going back and checking. So, another thing to add to your supermum cape.
@@juliadoherty83 oh wow!
We are further north in the lower Midwest and our washing machine pipes froze as well. Impressed that you remained composed after the toilet issue; would need a glass of wine to survive that issue😂
LOLOL If I couldn't flush them, that would be the end of me lol But as long as I refilled them, that was not an issue :)
