In California I pay $230 a year for a 2015 Mini, property taxes are about 1.25% after local bonds and everything but we are protected by law from increases, they are reassessed every year but limited to only a 2% increase per year regardless of price increase.
I’m from Massachusetts the cost of a home is TN is about a 100k cheaper than MA…I was trying to give the family a better life and great southern hospitality…I’m having trouble understanding how it’s less expensive to live in TN ….I run heavy equipment and the hourly wage is half of what I make in MA … Our dream is to move to TN just doesn’t seem financially responsible to do so…. Oh and we’re sick of living in such a liberal state… thanks for the video!
There is a shortage of affordable apartments, and Tennessee does not have any limit to how much landlords can increase the rent annually. I don't work in the rental market but I think one bedroom apartments in the nashville area start around 1000-1400. A two bedroom about 1800. Knoxville rent is pretty similar with how it's grown.
East TN prices have increased substantially since this video. Real estate and Rentals have been priced up so much locals can't find a decent place to live, income is not keeping up with the cost of living. A car repair is scheduled 3 weeks out, oil changes are not readily available. Dr appointment can be up to 3 to 5 months for a PCP. Car repair prices are over 100. An hour plus add ons. Traffic is horrible even in small towns. People here are known for courtesy, but its hard to find in over populated cities. Groceries are higher than she stated of course. As well as Utilities. Low Cost of Living, Friendly People, Land of Opportunity, is not available for the average person originally from E TN or anyone with income less than 50k/60k. Am I saying don't move here? For the past 2 years I have been trying to find somewhere to move to similar to E TN before the big boom.
i don't know what gas is a gallon here where i am from but we go by liters and we pay 1.68 per liter its high for us here in Canada. i think being a single man it can be very affordable to live in Tennessee.
After doing all the studying online, when it comes to finally booking a flight to Tennessee to look at the area, and houses, the cost of flights seems like it more than doubled from a few months ago! Whoops! I think groceries in TN are taxed at 4% (plus local tax) and Alabama is at least that much. At least TN gives a break on groceries over other retail items.
I now reside in Florida but came from Indiana .I hate it here .miss the seasons .I like to hunt and fish where would be a good place live in tennessee.where would be a good place to work.please get back to me .
Fuel cost in California range at 5:49 - 6:09 per gallon that will go up in July just in time of a $400 gas card, so taxes go up which will remove the $400 give away from Newsom
What's your biggest concern when it comes to Tennessee's cost of living?
My biggest concern is if my retirement will allow for a comfortable living. Will buy house with cash so no mortgage for me.
Welcome to TN, please learn us and how we do things. You left a place that didnt work to come here, please dont change us to that.
Always Cringe when I see this stuff.
@@9manny99 then you are the cringe, maybe california is a better place for you

The recent data I'm seeing shows living in Seattle is almost 2x as expensive as the US average, but Tenn is at 10.3% below national average.

it's March 11, 2023, can you tell me how much is rent in Nashville and Knoxville? Also, I heard there is a shortage of apartments to rent.

@@RachaelintheBoro Thank you so much. That's too much for me. I decided to look into Arkansas. I think it's more affordable there. Thank you.
Was thinking about it
Maryland is 4.39-4.50 regular gas
Groceries are definitely more
Milk $5
Eggs $4 -$5

Over 9 bucks a gallon for gas here in Sweden. 11 dollars for diesel. It's madness.
I'm in California. Los Angeles County and the gas prices are about $575-over $6.00 per gallon. Disgusting.

I live in Az and we have $4.69 at the gas stations by us.
I pay 328 a gallon in phx az
Oh man i paid $6.15 at costco today CA sucks
I need to know about a person on ssi and Medicaid and how much it would cost for a single male in a 1 bedroom apartment
You would need to apply for HUD HOUSING or SECTION 8. at 30 To 40 percent of your income, there are waiting lists.
gas $ 5.89 los angeles
San Diego $6.49 gallon.
If you jump the border to avoid taxes, you technically do need to report that on you tax return and you will still pay the tax.
😂 Only the naive report themselves.
5.99 gallon in California
Los Angeles = $6.05 per gallon
I will only visit this state, definitely not as my permanent residence.
Housing is sky high!
$6:29 guess where I live? Correct! CA
