Yeah Smyrna a place I loved to live as a trucker who chose that place as my home because Venture Express my old company was there after we lost our place in Hermitage
So I chose to live next to my job
Great experience because as a trucker at Venture Express it was perfect
Until I had a blood clot after a couple of years being there in Mills Springs Townhomes who suddenly raised my rent by $500 per month within 3 years during COVID
    Part 1 coming up
Lived in a truck for the past year because of company policy and health issues so yeah I wish I could experience Smyrna again, but until life turns around I can enjoy Springfield as a bum

I remember the firecracker stands on highway 41 that were located at the Davison county line back in the 60 s 😂 !!!

the old school firecracker stands were the best back in the day. I remember them in the late 80s in Monterey TN.

How is the crime rate in Smyrna?

It's low in this area, and like living in a bubble. Crime can of course happen anywhere, but being risk averse, not associating with criminals & not leaving my valuables out in the open are some great tips to stay in that safe bubble :)

Good info but there really isn't anywhere to move in America anymore. Who can afford the average home price? TN used to be one of those states where if you didn't have a lot of money it was a sure thing to be able to afford. Not anymore. The real estate market was ruined for 3 reasons. Too many people, too many investors, and covid craziness caused people to buy up all the homes. I'm actually thinking about moving to another country to afford housing! Never in my life would I have considered such a thing.

Remember, you have to look at the whole picture. Printing money has to lead to inflation, inflation is simply your dollar being devalued. Because your dollar has been devalued, that’s why prices have “gone up”! It takes more dollars to buy things now that the value of your dollars have gone down.

Been living here 25 years tomorrow. You failed to mention the constant train traffic that cuts through the middle of Smyrna at least 15
times or more a day. Roads in general are in disrepair, and even the patched potholes are caving in. Streets everywhere need paint. So hope that helps you balance out the cons. Diversity for sure, women in full burkas in Aldi's, Wal Mart, many many people lately speaking spanish, and they don't speak any English. When I came here I attended a couple of city council meetings where they promised no more trailer parks and no massive apartments, but they would build home to build homeownership. Smyrna Tn. is FULL of apartment complexes, duplexes, and as of late quads. Hazelwood Drive, now dubbed Hazelwood Highway by locals can guarantee you window rattling in your home day and all hours of the night due to the new Smyrna culture boom boxes. And someone down there asked about property taxes. Going up about 200 every year, be in that high category like the infamously high property taxes in Nashville soon enough. And the chipper service that picks up your trimmed tree limbs and bushes, I've had a small tree in my yard for a month since yesterday. I think you guys are selling real estate? If you want to live in Smyrna, try it before you buy into it. The one good thing the property value has went way up, but the taxes do along with that.
