Gavin, I stumbled upon your channel about 6-9 moments ago. I fancy myself a photographer and have played with photography since 1977, but work never allowed me to invest time, money and effort into it until the last couple years (after retirement). UA-cam was an idea generator and education for my love of photography. Sending your channel to my brother, also a photographer, I told him this guy is hilarious. I subscribed and have been following your new content since that time. This weekend I have been binge watching your older videos. You no doubt have come a long way from the earlier videos, but even back then you were more enjoyable to watch than others. I may not have truly understood everything that went into producing your content, but I could tell your production and presentation was head and shoulders above the rest of photography channels out there. This video cemented that belief and clearly demonstrates the passion that you invest in this endeavor. Your content is hands down more entertaining than anyone out there. You are a talented photographer, but your disposition and comedic skills set you apart from the crowd. And, your end product clearly reflects your production knowledge and skill unrivaled by other photography channels. I have to give props also to your sides kick, Amanda. You guys work well together. Watching other channels is like eating used "shit tickets" or "whisker biscuit" at the wrong time of the month. Oops, you have influenced me. LMAO! I can't sit through some of the 15-20 minute videos on other channels because it is all technical and no effort is made to have fun and liven up the presentation; definitely an area where you excel. Keep up the great work. I hope you never tire in your devotion to your productions. Good luck, Bob
25:18 hopefully that message will reach many people! My hearing isn't the best so I absolutely appreciate the effort you put into the audio quality of your videos even more than the excellent video.
Now we can see why your content is so polished. The work in the background really makes the difference between your videos and a lot of others who, while publishing similar photography trips, do not match your slick presentation. Thank you for all your hard work. Stay safe. 🙂
I haven't said it before, but I will repeat it. The information-to-entertainment factor in your videos is ...ONE (let me explain - if you take 1000 and divide it by 1000 in mathematics...). Your audio insights in this video alone are like a huge box of chocolate as I am one of them who is more than happy to watch a vlog filmed on a phone or even a potato as long as the audio is bearable (and there is some content in there, so easily forgotten by so many).
I'm watching through your entire channel from the start. It's way more entertaining than regular telly... AND I'm learning at the same time. You are a very creative, knowledgeable and funny guy.
Wow, just wow! I’m steadily watching your back catalog videos and thoroughly enjoying them. I’m in absolute awe after watching this one! I’m blown away by how much effort goes into making your videos! Kudos Gavin, and thanks very much for that effort mate, it’s very much appreciated. ATB
Im too busy being entertained and believing that you locked Adam in the boot to ever have noticed the insane amount of hard work and commitment you put into your channel for us! Photography, fun and friendships... You've got the perfect blend 👍
You .. Sir ... are an inspiration. Plain and simple. You are honest and relatable. For that, you should pat yourself on the back and I will raise a glass in your honor. Being “human” is often frowned upon these days, but IMO, you appear to tell things as they are. This is sincerely appreciated. Keep up the wonderful work and I wish the best for you, your extended family ... and your friends. Cheers 👍
It is truly sincere. Keep up being yourself. ... and IMHO, your “fart jokes” ... makes you relatble, and they should just find something else to focus their negative energy on. You (and Amanda ... and Cletus 🙃), should have an audience of 2 Million + .
I had some idea that a fair amount effort was involved in putting together an episode, but no idea that it was so extensive. It shows though, the quality is very high and always a joy to watch. Your audio background certainly pays dividends too. Excellent work mate, excellent.
Good work in saving the best question till last so come on Gavin make Amanda and us lot happy again after our dreadful year, I can feel a wedding song coming. In all seriousness now I'm really grateful for all your hard work in producing high content full of photography and humour! I appreciate it even more knowing the amount of time and effort that goes into producing these videos 🙂
Even though I absolutely know nothing about video/sound/video editing (except pressing the play and stop buttons), i found this video very interesting to see all the work behind a vlog!
That was great! I always look forward to your videos. The hard work you put in really shows in the quality of the productions . Awesome job, my favourite photography channel
You’ve nailed it kid! So glad you faced yourself and and realized your vast potential. Where we are is important but pales in comparison to where we could be. Doing for others is an important way to fulfillment in my experience as well. Take care of yourself, Ollie’s life isn’t the only one enriched by your being!!
thanks for the behind the scenes video, and it has been obvious from the very first vlogs that you do everything 110%. Photography is fantastic, and your channel is superb. your post-production and both of your creativity is a joy. keep up the good work. I look forward to watching you guys every week.
What trolls gave this a thumbs down? Jerks! This was awesome and informative Gavin! As a budding vlogger I’ve been watching lots of other’s channels to see what they do. I’ve loved watching you stuff and my wife and I get a big laugh out of your sense of humor! Keep up the good work man! 🤘 Rock on!
Wow!!! All new respect man!! I have a music background as well, I really appreciate all the back end work you put in to your videos. These little things show, its a reason why out of all the photogs I follow, I honestly enjoy your vids the best!
Ok, I never leave comments on youtube, but I have to now. I can't get enough of your vlogs. Your blend of comedy and actual useful tips are perfect! I am always smiling and constantly checking for new ones. Now seeing what goes into it, I had to leave a comment and thank you. Thank you for making such fun and happy content. I love Nick Page too, but your stuff is much more upbeat. Totally getting F4 when I can. Keep it up, I just love your stuff.
I always knew what you and others do took a lot of work. I mean, you can see that in all the b-roll you take. I can't imagine hiking up a mountain and periodically setting up a camera, and going back down just so we can see you going up. Then add to that all the audio editing and syncing you have to do. Never mind actually getting the shot. And then you add the skits! I can honestly say I've learned more from watching you in the last few months than I've learned in the last 10 years. I appreciate you and all the effort you put into your content.
Awesome, awesome, awesome. This video is just perfect to help those of us just getting started. I’ve been watching your videos for a long time and really appreciate you sharing so much detail in this one! Thanks Amanda (and Gavin.... was he in this video?) All jokes aside, I am grateful. Thanks again.
Long video from Fototripper. Instant like. Now i will imagine you with the blanket on your head everytime when i watch the video of yours with a voiceover 😅
Wait a moment, am I supposed to believe that Amanda does not pack her vision board with her on every adventure?? I truly appreciate the time, energy, and cost you both put into making your education light and entertaining.
Awesome video; really interesting. Love the effort you put into your output and it was great to see behind the scenes. Loved the guitar solos too, lol.
We were all expecting the usual mischief and silliness, which of course we got, but this was also rich with extremely useful information! It was fascinating, and for those of us thinking about starting our own UA-cam channels, this was a gold mine of "how-to" helpfulness. My favorite takeaway was to plan things after they have occurred, which I think I may be able to apply to my life in general, unless it's too late for that... Seriously, this was just sooooooo good.
Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate your comments on the background music. Some bloggers just don't get it and play very loud background music making it very hard to follow the comments. Thank you.
A great behind the scenes vid. You bring a lot of skills and talent to the table. Cool to see some of your tricks of the trade and hear the reality of your lifestyle. Thanks for the candid look. Keep up the great stuff!!
Total revelation, who knew, guitarist ,singer songwriter, audio production and you do all your own stunts. Anyway, one of the best BTS vlogs i've seen Gav', very informative and educational too, thankyou.
I see an F4 band in the works. Gavin on Guitar, Nick on Drums, and Uncle Grumpy on Flute. Not sure what Tom brings to the table, maybe tambourine? Of course Brody MacBrah Brah will be the roadie.
A startling look into the mind of a very disturbed photographer. In all seriousness this is so much more than a photography channel and your talents are so much more than photography and social skills with stalkers! I just may have to buy your book about quiet light!
I love the channel mate and I have been going through your old videos, learning and giggling all the way. Many thanks for this one, it was an eye opener.
I must admit to never having had any interest in vlogs/sound-recording (methodologies) but I watched this from start to finish with 100% engrossment(??) and enjoyed every minute - I've worked in TV all my life (my darkroom/studio/office at the BBC in Manchester was next door to an edit suite) so have been privy to all the monstrous monetary machinations of the 'production' and you've done basically better than what a lot of them do in million pound set-ups, in a spare room. Respect indeed! Just one question... do you emphasise your Yorkshire accent for added colloquial charm or is it really that broad...(joking...:D ;) ) Subbed from today!
I love your vlogs! I could never understand why someone would give you a 'thumbs down'! Now that I see just what takes place and how you put all of this together ... I am REALLY impressed! I have wanted to get into video and have watched you work with Adam and how you worked Amanda into the videos as your "stalker" ... I want to see more. This video ties it ALL together with your explanation of audio/video coordination ... this is what I needed!
thanks Gavin for sharing, I've found the tour very instructive, especially the point when you tell how much work is needed for one episode. This is something not everyone could even immagine. You rock, Gavin!
Incredibly informative, and entertaining too. Gave me newfound appreciation for just how much work (and thought) goes into your vlogs. Keep up the good work!!
Superb! And so very very helpful, too. This is my fav YT vid of 2020 - and I am subscribed to over 500 channels (many of which are photography). Superb, thank you so much to both (all four) of you.
I just want to say that your videos dictate the amount of work you put into them. The tremendous hard work creates a funny and interesting tutorial that I don't want to see end, thank you so much. I watch many youtube photography videos but none are more entertaining than yours, well done. I also really enjoy seeing your failures out in the forest, this indicates how much work is actually involved and success is difficult. Ohhhh I love your landscape photography fashion wear! Mr. Grumpacious is a thrill to watch as well. I hope his landscape trophy comes (or came) in a food basket with pickled eggs, herring, blue cheese and some essence of week old wet socks found under the seat in his vehicle, smelling so bad that it would turn off a skunk. Fantastic videos! oh if you want to say hi just stand on the east coast and give me a wave, I'm on the mainland.
I am pretty sure you just show the stalker some window footage at the end there! Looks pretty high up. Hearing the word Nanaimo gives me great memory, went to Victoria the city again last year, but didn't know of this thing called the Nanimo bar. Ate that stuff after the Bouchart Gardens, and a stop at the cider place. All so amazing and delicious, pretty much ate a bar a day for the 3 days we were there. The canadian ketchup chips too. You guys got some pretty tasty stuff there.
Great Video Gavin and Amanda. Your a great team. Love to watch all of them. I learned a lot about you and also love your music. Keep it up for all of us to enjoy..
Thank you for all your hard work to make your videos so much fun to watch! And with some epic pics of course! :) Keep up the great work both of you !! 😊
Sorry for the late comment but I'm still catching up on your fantastic vlogs, it shows how good you are at doing what you're doing because they are faultless, but I'll admit I didn't realise how much work went into them, you are a genius , keep up the great work
This video makes me want to start vlogging. Thanks for the great content, it's always good to get a notification that there's a new Fotoripper episode out.
I knew your production quality was good, but some of that insight was kind of mind blowing. I can't believe you are building sets and even have a background in audio. Great video, probably gonna watch it again now :)
This video turned out to be much better than I might have guessed from the first couple of minutes. Just disappointed that you aren't out doing photography more often. People living vicariously have to live the dream.
Ahh, Fototripper time! I spent almost two decades as a broadcaster before picking up photography. One of the things that drew me to your videos was the excellent sound, and content. How is it you don't have a million subs?
Such a fun behind the scenes video from Fototripper world headquarters. Ugggggg now you’ve inspired me to waste my Sunday and clean my photography room. Thank Gavin & Amanda you guys Rock 🤘🎤🎧🎸
Very interesting, always thought you put a lot into your videos and this proves it, how you manage to make the time is beyond me, well done Gavin, keep doing what you do. 👍
I didn't think I would learn so much about editing in this video. Actually what I have been looking for. Thank you very much. I love your videos. I always laugh my a$$ off. Stay safe.
OK, so Gavin plays guitar, Nick Page is a drummer, Uncle plays flute... You guys have any plans for jamming together?
I was going to say, put Thomas on bass and you've got the makings of a 70's esq rock band.
He was just pretending to play what Amanda recorded earlier.
Thomas Heaton should dance!
With Sir Grumpton in the band, they could do a Jethro Tull revival.

Well, I will summarize it, ... all the work you put in is what sets you a part from the others ...
Very well done ....
Thanks for giving us a behind the scenes look into your videos. That's alot of work and it shows in the quality of your vids. Cheers from Nova Scotia.
Im too busy being entertained and believing that you locked Adam in the boot to ever have noticed the insane amount of hard work and commitment you put into your channel for us! Photography, fun and friendships... You've got the perfect blend 👍
GAVIN you deserve a gazillion subs for all your hard work!!!

That slap sound FX at 3:48 is priceless. Sweet guitar riffs too bro. 🎸
Awesome! Your hard work pays off Gavin, your videos are a must see!
Brilliant episode. I loved it. It shows how much effort you put into making the videos too, and the results are proportional in quality!
Even though I absolutely know nothing about video/sound/video editing (except pressing the play and stop buttons), i found this video very interesting to see all the work behind a vlog!
Quite possibly the best vlog I've seen for a while without a single photo being taken. Bravo my good man, bravo!!
I just watched Adam eat an apple for ten minutes. Thought I'd stop by here for moment.
That was quality entertainment that.
Thanks for the tour...I don't think many people realize just how much time video editing and production takes. I learned a good bit on this one.
That was great! I always look forward to your videos. The hard work you put in really shows in the quality of the productions . Awesome job, my favourite photography channel
This is a top notch episode. So much to take away. Fantastic work, Gavin and Amanda.
Unbelievable amount of work.
The thought of me starting something like this is just too overwhelming.
Thanks for all your great videos.
Man....Your full of all kinds of surprise. You're cold with the Strat. My man!
You’ve nailed it kid! So glad you faced yourself and and realized your vast potential. Where we are is important but pales in comparison to where we could be. No way I thought that tent scene was on the mountain. Mental!!!!!
Very well done

Respect for your business, that's what makes your videos so good. Thank you very much.
Long video from Fototripper. Instant like. Now i will imagine you with the blanket on your head everytime when i watch the video of yours with a voiceover 😅
I'm glued to the screen again. Such interesting content and i don't do vlogs. keep it up gav lad and both stay safe.
Thanks for the introductions to your home life, especially the cats. Helpful stuff.
Awesome behind the scenes video. It's great to see behind the curtin of the powerful Wizard of Oz
Well done, very helpful info on how you make this work... Very smart and fun. Stay safe to you both.
This is brilliant Gavin. Thankyou for taking the time to share this.
Wait a moment, am I supposed to believe that Amanda does not pack her vision board with her on every adventure??

it lives in the camper

Love the cats. They’ll keep you grounded because their really in charge. Well the cats and Amanda. 😂🤣
Came for the Strat and I expect I'll stay for the insights and the laughs.
Thank you for sharing. I really appreciate your comments on the background music. Some bloggers just don't get it and play very loud background music making it very hard to follow the comments. Thank you.

Awesome content there again Gavin, loved it mate.
I really appreciated this video thanks Gavin! It was really weird seeing you two treat each other like an actual couple 😂😅
Talented bloke - I'm surprised you're not more popular!
I see an F4 band in the works. Gavin on Guitar, Nick on Drums, and Uncle Grumpy on Flute. Not sure what Tom brings to the table, maybe tambourine? Of course Brody MacBrah Brah will be the roadie.

The new place in Port hardy looks awesome will have to check it out one day.
You're welcome to visit any time old sauce!
Oh wow..you are even more talented..your guitar playing is epic!! 😃👍
You and Amanda are awesome - in my top five youtube channels! Keep going - wonderful team!
Just one question... do you emphasise your Yorkshire accent for added colloquial charm or is it really that broad...(joking...:D ;) )
Subbed from today!
Broad? I'm positively posh!
Dude, you totally shred on the guitar 🤘🔥💥🎸🤘
Thanks, Gavin, for pulling back the curtain behind all of your videos. Always entertaining and educational!
This interesting and funny video made my day. Thank you for that!
thanks Gavin for sharing, I've found the tour very instructive, especially the point when you tell how much work is needed for one episode. This is something not everyone could even immagine.
You rock, Gavin!
Thank you for putting so much thought and work into the sound part of your videos. Love it! I wish more content creaters would follow your example.
You are really fortunate to have the support of your good wife in making your videos.
Thanks for the vlog. Major thanks for your theme tune too, so much better than the ambient ethereal ...err... 'stuff' that others use.
Keep up the great work both of you !!
Really interesting video Gavin, thanks.
This video turned out to be much better than I might have guessed from the first couple of minutes. Just disappointed that you aren't out doing photography more often. People living vicariously have to live the dream.
I came for the comedy, but stayed for the content. One of the best BTS I've seen.
Loving the tent shots in the other room haha brilliant. 👍
Ahh, Fototripper time! I spent almost two decades as a broadcaster before picking up photography. One of the things that drew me to your videos was the excellent sound, and content. How is it you don't have a million subs?
It really is a travesty.
You know what would be nice for Amanda this New Year! You Say those four little committing words.
Yes, that was an epic day at Cape D and meeting the F4 + 1 group! Great video Gavin.
Spoiled us today. Have an hour or so to watch later tonight. Thanks, always entertaining.
Very insightful. Thanks for taking the time to do this Gavin.
You got me with the first note you have played today on your guitar ... and a little bit with your fotogasm face you made at the same time.
Thanks, Gavin, this answers so many questions I have had about dealing with my clips and sound. Love your videos.
Such a fun behind the scenes video from Fototripper world headquarters. Ugggggg now you’ve inspired me to waste my Sunday and clean my photography room. Thank Gavin & Amanda you guys Rock 🤘🎤🎧🎸
Great video Gavin with a good balance of facts/humour and ably assisted by the lovely Amanda.
I watch these videos so much I hear those trumpets in my sleep 🎺
Very interesting, always thought you put a lot into your videos and this proves it, how you manage to make the time is beyond me, well done Gavin, keep doing what you do. 👍
Absolutely loved it Gavin 💖 Soo much more goes on behind your vlog.
Thanks for the insight into what it takes to provide us your comedy classics and epic images 👍🏻.
Hi Gavin! Been subscribing for at least 6 months now, gone back in time obviously. Your photography is great etc.........But love the Humor!!!!!
