- Today we are going to show you our favourite smallest mini aircraft in the world. Because you liked our first video smallest mini aircraft in the world with engine and pilot so much we decided to create a list containing pur favourites. We even found some more insanely small mini aircraft this time, which will amaze you. If you like flying car or handmade vehicles that are quite special like the stuff colinfuze creates you came to the right place. All of the mini aircraft come with an engine and can be operated by a pilot. Some of the mini aircraft engine are in the ultralight aircraft category and some are even compliant with the Part 103 regulation which means you can fly those mini planes without a license in the US aviation.
Would you fly such a small airplane? Tell us in the comments below!

Totally fascinating, all good stuff, thank you
I glad to see this info still around.
Mary Ellen Bede was my dad's sister.
Seeing one of these usually the Bede J5 at an airshow reconnects me with it.
So She was your Aunt lol :D
your dads sister is your aunt lmao
Thats exactly what i said why repeat it? @@Shadow0fd3ath24
How to spot a fantasist
Thanks, very good video!
1:10 So clear how the resonance of the exhaust is important to the power of the engine, and how finely tuned the engine is to a narrow RPM band.

Tesla himself said that he would create a car that would also fly as a plane and maneuver like a helicopter. One of his many patents...
Amazing . All modern tech is his.
Thank You Nichola T.
You got to be cray cray to fly one of those!
GREAT VIDEO
This is awasome the second one
IIRC, the BD-5 was sold with two potential sets of wings, long (18'?) and short (12'?). All the early models were sent with long wings, and short wings were never delivered. Even the long wings had very narrow CG limits (something like 1/2", IIRC). Of the several first homebuilt flights, most terminated with accidents, with most of those fatal. The short wings would have made the CG limits even narrower. The original engine, again IIRC, was a snowmobile engine, but most builders substituted something else due to difficulty in getting an engine, adding to the CG problems.
What a nice post, my friend. Absolutely comprehensive and without dull blah bla blahs. Every aircraft with its own magic touch, taking our flying dreams off, each one of them. Thank you for the funny and enlighting post. Off we go!
Cool work
AMAZING
Those little stitts planes looks like a link trainer made flyable
Wow , what a way to spend a day . God's speed .
I've seen model airplanes bigger than some of those!

Superb
!!!! Admired !
If I built one I’d call it “The Thunderchick”.
Fyi Gotta say...the VO work on this chsnnel is one of the better ones on the YT
Très bien. !
Makes a person want to take to the SKY BY BUILDING ONE OF THEIR OWN! LOL! COOL.
Good post thank you my fathers friend was bobby gibbes of 3 squadron raaf & in 1992 had a plane called cri cri which he built in his garage on sydney northern beaches tiny plane i ever flew was the fanta can aka winjeel trainer before conversion to the t34 vampire trainer!!!
Perfect for Tom Cruise.
The Wright Brothers are kicking themselves in the butt saying why didn't we make one like that?
That Sessna Mustang is on my wishlist.
😄
I want to buy one but the checkbook Cess Na ! !
🤣
Small aircraft are not a problem if there is a sufficiently powerful engine that mediates higher flight speeds. Just something for something. Every little boy's big dream is a small passenger plane. That's why we like small planes, because they evoke childhood in us. :)
Some unnamed drone even bigger than this
Jim Bede developed a number of successful aircraft. His most popular kit was the Bede 4. His Bede 5J jet was used in the Bond film 'Octopussy' and flown through an aircraft hangar by Corkey Fornof. A close friend of mine's wife was a secretary for Jim before he went out of business. With Corkey's set up the jet could reach speeds of up to 300 mph (appx 260 kts).
Mr. Bede was my best friends next door neighbor for years. For the movie there were two BD-5J's, a beautifully painted one and a white one with stripes (as seen in the movie). On location the one that was to be flown was damaged so the white one was used. For years I had part of the nose section of the damaged painted plane in my garage, Jim gave it to my friend who gave it to me when he moved. Fun memories.
@@uplandhunter1869 Jim was quite the innovator. Special guy.
There was also the Coors Light Silver Bullet, which was another jet version of the BD5 and was popular on the air show circuit for many years. I don't know what eventually happened to it or its pilot.
@@davidtatro7457 Yes, I remember that airplane team well. Dave Hoover and Bob Bishop flew that demo team. Don't know what happened to either of them or the airplanes. I've heard the airplane owned by Bishop was crashed in a landing mishap and destroyed. Pilot was killed but it wasn't Bob doing the flying.
@@uplandhunter1869 Good story!
I want one! Before I die, I want to live!
"MTOW has 200lbs of room, which allows plenty of room for the pilot." (CRIES IN AMERICAN)
Miss you forever love from India 🍎🙏
You'd have to be crazy to go up in these things.
cool, cute
Huge balls my friend
I'm looking at your news, greetings from Chile
Gee, I'm gonna have to relearn to spell how long something is! I always spelled "lenght" a different way! Wow, ya learn something new everyday!
Mandela effect.
Citation mustang, awesome jet.
Looks it would be easy to attach parachute to tail of such a small plane. Think it would work good.
My next Christmesspresent at home to me ...
I saw what was advertised as the smallest jet at an air show in PA. It was yellow and called the bumble bee. It was tiny!
Are these regulated like any other general aviation aircraft? Do you need a pilot's license and certain number of hours flying to be able to fly one of these?
I started to build the recip version of this when they (the kit) first came out but it didn't take me long to give up.
That cri cri is basically a manned RC aircraft
He looks like Super Dave Osborne in a mock jet plane.
That Cessna Mustard is funny. A mustard is a certain kind of bull, is it?
Citation mustang is defiantly not the smallest commercially produced jet even, let alone experimental. Cirrus Vision Jet and Eclipse are smaller.
The general aviation is most affected by money. There’s no big issue with technology. It is very hard to make it affordable even for an above average family. Another interesting fact is that a 1960s car may look old, but a 1960s plane has no major difference with a new plane today except for avionics.
See the '80s Hatfield "Little Bird". Follow on to the '30s Arup planes.
How many UA-cam Channels does this guy have??
Airbags and Parachute for both Plane and individual.....😜
Roger Ramjet he's our man, leader of the nation... 😂
👍
You mean it will fly with one engine out like every other twin engine plane in the world? Lol!
I didn’t know Kermit voiced this
ROFL -i cant get this out my head now you said that - hilarious comment :D
Tiny Tom Cruise has one.
I have seen a Cri-Cri that runs two jetcat rc plane turbine engines. making it the smallest jet.
I looked out my window and saw a guy pedaling a plane through the sky just above my neighbor's house.
Say is this plane still available for purchase. I use to have the little merlin back in the day than they took them off the shelves... nice little plane
Hello james, so "redwheel" does it again!
I like kit RC planes as much as the next guy..........but I wouldn't get in one,
Like the fact that both miles & kilometers measurements are stated.
Nice vid except it is very annoying when you keep referring to the metric equivalents.
The smallest jet "airplane" is the jet suit. It's simply a pilot strapped to a wing with four small jet engines attached. The pilot IS the fuselage. His feet is the landing gear.
"Suit"...
That's a jetted wingsuit not an aeroplane
Honey I shrunk the aircraft.
👍🏽 I won't that plane
Der Jet auf dem Titelbild war leider nicht dabei, schade.
The Honda jet with the two engines on top of the wings is smaller than the citation quite a bit
That depends upon the model of Citation you're comparing it to. The early 500 / 501 models weren't overly large.

Hi strange noleum, thanks for your comment. Hope you enjoyed the video 🙂
Hydrogen Carbon fiber mini aircraft.
Doubt wearing a helmet will help these guys in a crash. Perhaps better to give the plane a parachute.
They have those. But you will still want a helmet when your head hits the windows
Imagine that plane is heavy winds lol.
The biggest thing I feared about learning how to flearning how to fly and finally flying is hitting other airplanes in the sky.
Mainly ultralight aircraft we don't have all these high Tech instruments to see your peripheral.
Red one looked like maverick.
i could count all 16 pixels throughout the video.
2:46 I find myself wondering how many people ordered 5000 Bede BD5 kits to assemble at home. Bit OTT IMHO.
any of the last 3 or 4 planes, what's the STALL SPEED?
ok, found it in wiki . . . stall speed of the Star Bumble Bee is 86 mph . . . and a 4500 ft per minute rate of climb!
Thanks for using metric.
M.C. Cray-Cray
So build a tiny jet fighter i guess there are tiny jet engines fix those to a carbon fiber body and fricking send it
hmmm????i wonder those jet engines hmmmm!!!
I want the bd5j
You can use your legs for a Flinstone landing.Yabbadabbadu!
Didn't they have a mini jet in a Bond film?
the Citation shouldn't be on here at all
is it a ULM?
the smallest aircraft in the world is the jet suit used by Jet Man
Have you ever heard that a car's engine gave out, so then why the airplane... gets me.
💛💛💛🍸🍸👍👍💛💛💛
A mile is 1.6 kilomaters. Some odd figures quoted.
Can the Cri Cri be considered the smallest jet? You literally said it was
I was going to reference Octopussy. We all saw the horse trailer.
MTOW=Maximum Take-Off Weight
4:57 is that guy playing with his johnson?
EDWYNN MOGLEGGS SKY JETSTER TAE THE AIR DADDY'O !
I had a Bede 5 kit, years ago. Never did put it together. When I moved, I sold it. Kind of sorry I did.
I think M-02J:OpenSky is the smallest aircraft in the world.
I don't think I'd fancy flying in some of these aircraft. I don't reckon they'd be easy to control in the event of engine failure.
In case of failure I prefer to be in this small plane where it should be easy to eject with a parachute, rather than in a commercial plane where you are stuck inside... 😅
Il y a du vrai dans les deux cas
Actually I think it's opposite. The smaller planes are so lite they would glide more than drop like a sack of potatoes making it easier to control and land than a bigger plane. But I'll be honest and say I'm not a pilot!
It’s more the landing for me imagine in grass field and obstacles rocks wood 🪵 etc…
@1:50 "Length" is NOT spelled, "Lenght" :(
Wheres the bathroom
