I hope they won't change it. That being said as I progress as a lifter I will definitely purchase some of the courses available on RTS website in order to enhance my knowledge and be able to optimize my training.
One potential improvement for the app: the back off sets should be automatically calculated based on the actual weight you hit on your top set that day. For example, if my target was x1@8@100kg, but I hit x1@8@105kg, it should automatically adjust the weight for the percentage based back off sets. Deleting the previous sets and adding them again with updated E1RM like you did on this video ( 10:05 ) is kind of annoying, other than that this looks great! Obviously you could hit the x1@8 first and add your back off sets after the updated E1RM, but it would be a bit easier if you didn't have to.
One question though, when doing DB or unilateral machine work should I put total weight I use or the weight of 1 DB? Asking in the context of per session volume this log calculates in total tonnage. Or it doesn't matter much as long as it is consistent since these are auxiliary movements?
i recently discovered this and the RTS training log app is amazing! i do have one question though, would you recommend i include TRAC and bodyweight entries every day? i am currently only adding them in on the day i train (i.e. 3x/week, MWF). TIA!!
Ideally you'll want to record TRAC every day. This allows for a more accurate assessment of your fatigue and recovery levels and how to implement them in your training.
Thanks for the very informative video, Jim! One small question with regards to your personal protocol selection - 70% for sets of 5 should be a pretty low RPE. How do you manage that? Shouldn't work sets be 6+ RPE? I have trouble even imagining what a RPE 5 looks like. Thanks in advance
Dan Angelakov great question Dan, the RPE for sets of 5 @ 70% are going to vary for each lifter. In fact I was just having a conversation with one of my lifters who is using this protocol and he noticed that for his deadlift, 70% x5 feels like @7 RPE, where as with bench press it feels like @5 RPE. RPE 5 work is like a heavy warm up set. It’s not super important at that point what the RPE actually is, but that you give it a close estimate and log it consistently. The training log prioritizes the heaviest sets for e1rm calculations.
@@ReactiveTrainingSystems Im more interested if there is a way to delete or hide the lifts i won't ever use... For yano, a tidy screen 😉 I'm never gonna zercher for example, id hide that if i could 🙄😏
weightman18 we can make a tutorial on how to set up custom exercises, but you should be able to customize most of the exercises using the wrench tool to add modifiers. This allows for a wide range of exercise variations.
Still blows my mind this is FREE!

Can't show enough appreciation for the fact that this is awesome training app and detailed instructions on how to best use it are available for free!
I suggest doing a video on interpreting block reviews and how to apply those results for future blocks e.g. exploration or developmental blocks.
Just started to do this, so thanks for sharing Jim..!
Darren Whittaker awesome! Welcome Darren hope you find it helpful!

I love this, You guys are awesome. Will you please do a video on how to use trac and how to adjust a training protocol as a result :)
Thanks for sharing ! Love the app !
Welcome!
Really helpful video man! great work Jim
Thank you Gareth!
Thanks. You could do a video about Trac also. I am not sure when to enter my entries for trac: before workout? after? on a rest day?
Hannu Leinonen we can absolutely do this!
@@ReactiveTrainingSystems Yes please I have the same exact doubt since quite long time. Though using RTS log from 1 year

Consistency matters most. Whether you use total weight, or the weight of both dbs, just keep it consistent.
@@ReactiveTrainingSystems gotcha, thanks!

Can you guys make with the Reporting look back further than 2 years? I want all the data. Cheers.
Thanks for the video very helpful, as a mod it would be helpful to have a print workout option. Any plans for a iphone and andriod app?
Thanks for the very informative video, Jim!

Biceps curls, pulldowns/ups, leg curls, dumbbell rows, triceps extensions in the database?
boxerfencer yep, they are all available in the training log when you click the “new workout” button. Scroll down to “MISC”
You can also add your own exercises

@@maxxfury13 AFAIK you can only hide exercises you have personally added. Preset ones are there for good.
@@Fake--Natty that's what i thought! That's fair. Probably need to stay for some back end stuff. I can deal 😉👍

@@ReactiveTrainingSystems awesome, I was asking specifically because im guessing strongma exercises aren't standard.
weightman18 absolutely, that’s understandable. Of course our focus is powerlifting, so most of the presets are for powerlifting exercises.
Is there anyway to use this with clients beyond sharing login details atm?
it keeps saying "Incorrect username or password combination." How can I solve this error sir? Thanks
Use the password recovery steps by clicking "forgot password". If that doesn't help try using the "contact" page so we can provide more support.
