Not even a Kirk fan here, but dude doesn’t throw for 500 and 3 tugs in the NFL if he’s lost his abilities. Kirko had a couple bad games, give him a little room before ending his career lol.
I would usually agree with someone saying this statement but my brother this man tripped all the way out in that Chargers game. That 3rd interception which was a pick 6 was so slowly thrown I couldn't believe my eyes.
yeah literally what i was saying when i read the title it’s insane what are we even talking everyone has a few rough stints but dawg throwing 500 and beating decent teams in 1 minute drives and almost going to the beat the chiefs is not a easy feat
Falcons fan here, watch all the games and been to a couple this season including the Philly Monday night game. The "zip" hasn't consistently been there all season. If you look at his stats outside of the two have against the Bucs he's abysmal. 226 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. That's enough to get anyone else benched in this same situation.
He has also never had even a top twenty defense. The playoffs is where all the top ten defenses meet, with very few exceptions. And Kirk is one of only two QBs who has managed to even get to the playoffs with a bottom five defense, which he did in 2015 with the Redskins. Matt Ryan with the Falcons is the other one. Brady has never done that. Rodgers has never done it. Peyton Manning has never done it. Mahomes has never done it. Kirk has. Now, Ryan even went to the Super Bowl when he did it and that was more impressive, even if his defense stiffened a lot once they got in for some reason. But it's still pretty impressive. You gotta look at the gear people are using while trying to do things, not just how they look doing it. I've always said, give him a good defense and Kirk can win you one. But no one ever did.
Agreed but he did at least show flashes of big games 4 TDs 500 yards but outside that garbage I would've been tried penix out there I'm hyped to see it I'm a ravens fan but I think penix could be a force
Cirk Kousins is the most financially successful Mid QB to ever quarterback... Edit= By Mid, I'm referring to draft position. Only 3rds and lower can hold weight in this. Bradford, Watson, Janiel Dones, etc were high draft picks.
This made me lol. If you look at every stat category, Cousins is either 9th or 10th in the NFL. Granted, he IS leading the league in INTs though. IMHO he is having a fairly typical Kirk Cousins season. Falcons are getting what they paid for: a QB that will give you decent stats, will win one or two during the season from his play, but will also lose one. He won't be "the reason" you are a contender, but he won't lose you the season either.
I'll never forget that 98% of yall thought the Falcons drafting this kid was a gigantic whiff of a draft pick. I just remember sitting back and realizing that not only did they have a great bridge QB to ease him into the league but they also absolutely ruined my Raiders as we sat there smugly thinking one of the top QB prospects in years would somehow fall to us with no effort on our part. It's so crazy watching this unfold as a Vikings fan. All the time he was here people recognized that he had high end-talent around him and refused to give him credit. The MOMENT he left suddenly he was supposed to transform the Falcons into a Superbowl contender, without a name like Justin Jefferson on the roster. Anyone with eyes could have predicted how it was going to go for Atlanta, good but not great. That's not me discrediting him either, he's a good starting tier quarterback that you should never pay top tier money. You can absolutely win a Superbowl with Kirk Cousins, if you don't pay him like he's Mahomes. And damn what a video title. Kirk's playing right around where he should be, I'd say within the top 12 statistically even with the interceptions.
There is this guy, named Tom Brady, he played QB in the NFL. He had 6 games with 4 interceptions. He had 3 games with 3 interceptions. Joe Montana had 1 game with 4 interceptions, 6 games with 3. Brett Favre, 1 game with 5, 5 games with 4 interceptions, 19+ games with 3 interceptions. This is Kirk's 2nd 4 interceptions game, with 6 games of 3 interceptions. It happens to the best. Get over it. Very few of you haters could throw 1 touchdown pass in the NFL. Peyton Manning, 6 interceptions in 1 game, 5 games with 4 interceptions, 14 games with 3 interceptions.
u think if cousins had 1 or more rings like the above crew he would get more slack but he doesnt most of those guys also were in the big show at young age (under 30 ) at least once
The fact you compared a mid QB like cousins to the games greatest is hilarious. He's not even in the picture for the best of his time, let alone all time. Not even the coaches, players or execs in the league rate him as a top ten player.
By this logic, Kirk Cousins is as good as these all time greats you just mentioned lol. Also, what does it prove that none of the "haters" are capable of throwing a touchdown in the NFL? lol... Only a handful of guys have ever done that. Doesn't mean everyone else can't have an opinion or point out an inconvenient truth.
Oh gosh, you betcha. We were NEVER gonna give him that much for a dude who even with the best version of himself unlocked under KOC was still pretty mid when the chips were down.
Kirk was 8-0 before his injury with the Vikings. With the defense they have this year he'd be having the same season as Darnold right now. The advantage of Darnold is that he's way cheaper.
As a Vikings fan all I have to say is that’s Kirk. He’ll come back and have 4 outstanding games. He just has games where the defense just seems to know exactly what he’s doing, leaving you to think what he’s doing.
My uncle was a starting NFL QB in the late 70s/early 8os, and believes he would never have made it in the NFL today. He said QBs used to get 3 to 5 years to develop prior to becoming a starter whereas they are often pushed on the field right out of college these days. I don't say his name b/c I don't want to put words in his mouth. Again. 😅
I like the idea of teams having a rookie QB sit under a QB that has been in the league for a few years and "produced" give them some time to watch and learn. I understand the rookie contracts are cheap but if you believe in a guy give them a chance to succeed instead of tossing them out there.
Love learned under Rodgers, who learned under Favre. Perhaps this is the model that more teams should follow. Yes, using a #8 for your backup is high, but with the price being paid for even mediocre starting QBs, this is a long-term bargain.
Just to clarify, the GM wasn't explaining himself about picking Penix. He was explaining what it would take to get back into the first round for defense. That was taken out of context because everybody, including a lot of falcons fans were taken by Surprise. Why would the owner not know about the top 10 pick and a QB at that
Broooooooo I’m so late. I been subscribed to your NBA UA-cam the flightmike since the pandemic in 2020 and watched faithfully and I’m just now finding out you also have an NFL page 😂😂😂😂 wtf
Kurt not having any zip on the ball is only partially to blame for the interceptions. If you've watched the falcons all year and paid attention you'd know how predictable the play calling is. What's happening is defenses has caught on and Zack Robinson hasn't made any adjustments to his game plan. I think that Kurt's limited abilities plays a role in that as well
As a Washington Fan never understood the hype for Captain Interception. He constantly meltsdown in key moments. Was overjoyed to see him sign with Vikings. Before the Vikings signed him they where 1 game away from Super Bowl. The Vikings had good regular seasons but really nothing during post season. If I played Fantasy Football I want him to be own my team, But as a NFL Starting QB never been elite puts up great stats but when everything doesnt go as planed folds like cheap chair. Atlanta Signed him to settle QB position until rookie was ready to play without forcing him to play before ready to play
Cousins is the Jamis Winston of the Falcons.!! But just like the browns have no choice but to let Winston finish the season. Neither does the Falcons they still can win the division and make the playoffs.!!
I remember telling non ATL fans the reason why it’s makes sense to get Kirk and MPJ (can’t justify the price though). They still thought it was dumb. qb’s do not fall from the sky, and Kirk gets you enough wins (like Dak) to keep you away from the top prospects. They had to make this move now. Also if we wanna be fully honest, Arthur smith got fired last year. Terry Fotenote was next Kirk allows him to keep his job.
I had an issue with penixs age of 24 Either you overpaid kirk and you can't build a team around penix Or You wasted 3 years of penix and he starts his first game at 27 28 n you only get 5 6 years value at pick 8 I get the move IF IT was a 1 to 2 year contract Or worse neither are good and you're in cap hell like the saints and you have to rebuild a rebuild with no cap n no draft capital
Dude blew it. Left for $$'s and could have stayed in MN for a ring. Imagine if he stayed in MN for less and leveraged the team to use the cap headroom for a rock solid OL.
Let’s face it, he got paid and has never been anything other than mediocre. Stats don’t mean anything if you’re not playing in and winning playoff games
Falcons fan here. I was/am excited about Pennix. The sooner he gets game experience this year the better. The Vikings didn’t want to keep Cousins. There’s a message there. Make him the back-up or cut him.
Never thought Cousins was much of a quarterback. Watched him when he played for Washington Commanders(Redskins). Could not understand why the Vikings and now the Falcons signed him.
Hard to say move on after the guy comes back from an achilles injury. Every player that comes back to play after that isn’t back to 100% mentally/physically. I’m not saying move on but because the NFL is a business, I could see them benching him.
As a Vikings fan I will always appreciate the Falcons for taking cousins off our hands. He so wildly overpaid you can barely afford a full team. And he never wins playoff games.
Why? So they can have another young QB get thrown to the wolves on a team that was trash, potentially ruin him and his confidence, and kill his career? That's the exact reason most QBs drafted fail now a days. None of them sit and learn like Jordan Love did. You don't get many CJ Strouds or Jayden Daniels, both of which aren't phenomenal either. CJ is in a massive slump and Jayden has looked good for a rookie but also had a decent amount of mid games.
An Achilles tear on any leg is bad for a QB. Doesn’t matter which hand you throw with or your plant foot or forward foot. No matter what your foot mechanics are screwed. Whether it’s left or right it is moot. Just a very bad injury.
I thought you were overreacting until I saw the weak throws that became INTs. They looked awful maybe as bad or worse than Peyton Manning's last year. I think Kirk started locking into his receivers because he was focus on just being able to deliver the pass with some zip. So this is going to carry over to other parts of his game if he can't get any zip on his throws.
Raheem Morris and the Atlanta falcons are not going to bench Kirk Cousins short of an injury. He was hired to get the team to the playoffs and that’s what he’ll do.
I’m a Vikings fan and I would rather have a washing machine than Kirk cousins. We paid him hundreds of millions to win 1 playoff games in 5 or 6 years. He’s trash in prime time, and that 3 yard throw to TJ against the giants in the playoffs when we needed 10 was the final straw.
I F-ing hate this for Kirk. He has become one of my favorite NFL players after learning about him more once he was signed by my Falcons. He "lost the game" for the Falcons last week but he also won about 2 earlier games for this year for the Falcons. Through his career he has went through a 3-4 game stint where he was terrible and the "he is getting benched" talk would be all over the sports news then he comes back and won games for the Vikings to get them into playoffs. He plays his old team this week. I feel like he will come in and handle up on the Vikings and go 4-1 in the last 5 games. A change to Penix in the middle of the season wouldn't change the Falcons trajectory accept in a negative way. I might be eatinmg my words but the coaches & teammates are all on the same page with Kirk being their best option and I feel the exact same. I could go on longer but will end the torchure and boardom here. RISE UP! & FLY FALCONS FLY!! #inkirkwetrust
Too early to say cousin is washed, give the man another year to be fully recovered before declaring him done. You thought Russell Wilson was finished but he’s still winning games this season
I hope they don’t ruin Penix by starting him too soon. Brady, the greatest QB of the modern era, rode the pine for a couple seasons and learned - and watched - the game. See, what happens is this: all the best talent goes to the skilled offensive positions in junior and high school. In college that remains true, and so QBs and running backs and receivers look greater than they are. But by the time you reach the NFL, the elite defenders have also finally surfaced. And the defensive schemes are better. So the pro game comes at the offense 25-40% faster than the college game. Young QBs need time to absorb all that. You cannot rationally expect a fresh college QB to step in and save an NFL franchise. Tossing them to the wolves that way has ruined many of them.
so overpaid . . . most people are clueless that Kirk was in the top three every single year in turnovers, destroying the efforts of his teammates who worked so hard

"I'm not the the type of guy who likes to make quick knee-jerk reactions"... but I'm going to right now - lol (7:58)
Please don’t make my vikes fight kirko😢
🫠 who cares. He's a scam artist and teams keep falling for it money bag kirk😂
Lol,.....Cousins is no Brady.😂
Vikes fans all over MN right now sayin' ohh jeez what do ya knoww?? 😊
You betchya
As a Vikings fan all I have to say is that’s Kirk. He’ll come back and have 4 outstanding games. He just has games where the defense just seems to know exactly what he’s doing, leaving you to think what he’s doing.
Time for you to think about making a video on my 8-5 Broncos
The Falcons screwed up signing Cousins. However that contract is not easy to move off of.
Again. 😅
00:11 Bruh
THAT 500 yard reception game vs the Buccaneers seems a LONG time ago.
I wanna see Penix Start bro
I like the idea of teams having a rookie QB sit under a QB that has been in the league for a few years and "produced" give them some time to watch and learn. I understand the rookie contracts are cheap but if you believe in a guy give them a chance to succeed instead of tossing them out there.
Love learned under Rodgers, who learned under Favre. Perhaps this is the model that more teams should follow. Yes, using a #8 for your backup is high, but with the price being paid for even mediocre starting QBs, this is a long-term bargain.
Except it's not long term since penix is an older rookie
Time for some Big Penix Action! 😎
I believe in kirk ❤
Been a huge fan of his ever since he came into the league with Washington. One of the most consistent QBS
Wow there for the lows not there for our highs lol as always Mike
I remember telling non ATL fans the reason why it’s makes sense to get Kirk and MPJ (can’t justify the price though). They still thought it was dumb. qb’s do not fall from the sky, and Kirk gets you enough wins (like Dak) to keep you away from the top prospects. They had to make this move now.
Also if we wanna be fully honest, Arthur smith got fired last year. Terry Fotenote was next Kirk allows him to keep his job.
I had an issue with penixs age of 24
Either you overpaid kirk and you can't build a team around penix
Or
You wasted 3 years of penix and he starts his first game at 27 28 n you only get 5 6 years value at pick 8
I get the move IF IT was a 1 to 2 year contract
Or worse neither are good and you're in cap hell like the saints and you have to rebuild a rebuild with no cap n no draft capital
KIRK GOT THEM BAGGGGSSS but the BROWNS stilllllll paying WATSON lol
Dude blew it. Left for $$'s and could have stayed in MN for a ring. Imagine if he stayed in MN for less and leveraged the team to use the cap headroom for a rock solid OL.
Let’s face it, he got paid and has never been anything other than mediocre. Stats don’t mean anything if you’re not playing in and winning playoff games
Talk about the Texans I’m a loyal fan frustrated about our season and now more frustrated with Alshaiir getting suspended
A point that needs to be made is -dont jack the Penix!
About time
Falcons fan here.
I thought Michael pennick should have been the starter from the beginning
Cousins reunited with Stefanski next year in Cleveland. Book it.
6:11 Kirk Cobain?
That last INT had some zip to it but man I feel bad for Cousin
Love to see my favorite qb in the draft get a chance to shine cause I know he will
I honestly thank we should wait the end of the season
Bold take: a Healthy Kirk Cousins is a top 10-15 QB in 2024. His 4 year contract as he heals will age very good.
Kurt Cobain was WILD!
As a Vikings fan, I pray that Gernard sacks him 6 times and AVG picks him off 4 times.
this contract is a steal.🤣🤣illustrates exactly how absurd pro sports are now.
Mike when are we getting a Bo Nix and Broncos video ?
Vikings fan here. How’s that Cousins tampering working out for you?
Every other tampering got a first round pick. NFL hates the vikings with a 2nd round pick and 6 round the following year.
I am a vikings fan, happy to see Dak Prescott's cousin get sent packing finally, I can't wait to see McCarthy get a start.
I’m a Vikings fan and I assure you .. Kirk is not worth 4 years $1.80 …. He never has been … 1 playoff win in 12 years
The Falcons absolutely crippled themselves getting him though.
Kirk Cousins is the Tony Romo of his generation. Good enough to give you hope but destined to choke or come up short when it matters most.
#inkirkwetrust
wow now i'm glad bill didn't go there. that would have pissed me off
Kirko bangs is crazy 😂
DANM Chargers be destroying QB careers!
Nathan Peterman, 5picks - career over
Trey Lance, 5picks - career over
Kirk Cousins, 4picks - career over
Sam Bradford made a 12 year career out of sitting and banking
God this channel is comedy
Your left leg planted is your power plant for a right hander......😂
Kirk isn’t washed. He had a couple bad games. Guess who else has bad games? Every quarterback ever.
