Destroying Azeez's reputation was uncalled for. The way people are reacting, you'd think the man was Ndamukong Suh kicking Matt Schaub in the groin. Nick Caserio is good in my book. Class act

Seth, what upsets me about this is that there is no accountability on the QBs who decide to slide. I personally wish that they would eliminate/ban sliding. Once a QB becomes a runner, they should treat the run as a RB or WR does. It allows defenders the chance to make form tackles as they are taught and keep the choice to run consistent with the other positions. This would also limit exposure to QBs getting hit like this, increasing their risk of concussions or worse...
Having the responsibility falling solely on the shoulders of defensive players... It takes the teeth and competitiveness out of the spirit of the game while excusing the QB from any responsibility as they exploit the slide for more yardage or a penalty. All in the sake of keeping the most valuable position "safe."
    What are your thoughts?

John Runyan was considered by his peers to be one of the dirtiest players in the NFL during his career. In 2007 he was voted the second dirtiest player by the players. Now he passes judgement and calls these players dirty. What a joke

The dirtiest hit? Wtf. Has nobody heard of Bill Romanowski. He spit in peoples faces, almost broke Jerry Rice in half, punched someone and shattered their eye socket, intentionally broke someone’s finger and let’s not forget threw a microwave at his own teammate in the locker room. Azeez is not a malicious player. He’s intense at times like every linebacker should be. The hit was unfortunate. Not dirty or ill intended. The league has become a freaking joke

There was absolutely no Hitting in the Head, He hit him in the Chest with his elbow but it was close to his head because he was sliding. His head hit the ground from the Impact.

Everyone keeps acting like these hits werent regular 5 years ago. Honestly i love the energy Agent 0 gives houstons defense. Obviously hes not the linebacker that prime ray lewis was but i feel like it gives the guys that kind of energy boost knowing they have a guy back there ready to lay the boom. I'm glad that it seems like Caserio and Ryans want a "hard knocks" defense.

With how much betting there is - I wouldn’t be shocked if the same thing takes place during the playoffs or the Super Bowl…. 15 yards and the loss of one defensive player is nothing compared to taking out a Mahomes level QB and winning the game. As with any fan base - if it happens to YOUR QB you know damned well you’ll be demanding a max sentence….

The outrage is not just because of the hit. The outrage is disproportionate to what actually happened. It's annoying AF, but at least it will bring the team closer together (I think) and rally them to be even more physical. Tua better stay in that pocket.

Nick is not wrong and is standing up for Aziz rep. Also, him calling out Runyan and Godell being consistent on calling it straight across the board is fair. A QB scrambling is of course putting themselves at risk of getting injured on a hit. The GOAT Brady said it best. Don’t put in on the defensive player to be careful on the qb if he scrambles. That’s crap.

NFL RULE FOR SUSPENSIONS (PROPOSED) - If a quarterback is hit during a slide and the spot of the ball is THE SAME as the point of contact, the hit was not excessively late and should not be suspended beyond one game. (Exceptions: Helmet to helmet, spearing, or other flagarent acts not in line with football norms.)

Also if you look at where Azeez is sitting in relation to where Trevor gets hit Azeez moves forward about 3 yards while Lawrence travels 10 to where he gets hit. Trevor was absolutely trying to pick up extra yards since from the time Azeez had him pinned to when he gets down was literally 10 yards. That’s not the QB protecting himself that’s him gaming the system.

Both Nick and DeMeco said what they said to spin the narrative in hopes of getting a favorable appeal. That’s it. It won’t convince the league office, but apparently it convinced every Houston sports fan except me. It probably didn’t actually convince Seth either. He’s just trying to placate all of you which is apparently easy to do. I think whatever mental health condition Demeco has that causes him to prance up and down the sideline with that goofy, delusional, painted on smile while his team underperforms must be contagious because everyone in the city has contracted it.
