Seth, you went down a dark “rabbit hole” and made some enlightening observations about the league turning a blind eye to the fake and late slide and increase in QB running plays. What a gray area of football. Thanks.
Love your show, Seth! You are always seeing both sides and putting finger in wound if need be! You are about the only one who says Azeez hit TL on the shoulder instead of the head. Everybody else is saying he went straight for the head. There was a slo-mo during game from one angle that showed he hit him high on the pad initially and only afterwards did his arm slide higher and hit TL's head/chin. Mood of German Football fans is split. One half says to ban Azeez for life.... the other half are on Azeez's side saying the split sec he had to decide and commit is not enough to change trajectory. And like you rightly pointed out, which in no other show was mentioned....If Azeez doesn't use his arm, he hits TL helmet on helmet 🤷. So i rathet take the arm to the head than another helmet. The QB slide needs to go. The hit to the head would not have happened had TL stay up, taking the tackle like any other player. He would have copped a massive tackle to his midriff that would have hurt like mofo but it would have been a clean tackle. Going down into slide put TL's head right in the path of where Azeez was aiming his tackle at. Just my take on the whole situation. 🤘🤘🤘
Love the show love what you do.....all this brings a thought....the very cool play Josh Allen did in the snow was cool but if think about it after he throws the ball you can't legally touch him block him or push him down....so should he be able to rejoin the play? Kinda crazy.Free Azeez!!!!
Steven a smith i dont understand, Everytime he talks about something i have knowledge about he is sooo wrong. Culley declined a penalty on 3rd down to punt on 4th. THAT IS NOT HEAD COACH MATERIAL!!! lovie came out of nowhere as a candidate, flores was a candidate but stired up drama why would texans at that point want to go with anyone with drama after deshaun shit? What are chances that caserio thought well give this opportunity and money to lovie and kick can down road.
I am just a fan, but from where I’m sitting it looked to me like Al was going full force, if he had shifted to the left or the right he probably would have broken Lawrence’s left or right shoulder. To me the direct hit was the safest way to go for the defensive player.
@@Jacobeup22 100% can be defended. Trevor waited too late to slide but wanted that first down. He is partly responsible for what happened. Elite athletes moving fast makes it that much more difficult to make split second decisions.
@ dude stop it he slide five yards away from Azeez he had plenty of time to stop Azeez is just a dirty player he deserves to be suspended for three games the NFL wouldn’t suspend him for no reason clearly did something wrong and he has a history of doing stuff like this everyone knows if you see a QB sliding you don’t hit him the other Texans defenders understood that the only people defending Azeez is Texans people which you are wrong the jags hit stroud like that all you Texans fans and people would be calling the jags dirty
Sliding is for baseball! The hit was late, we can all agree on that. I'm not sure the hit was as dangerous as much as the hit in combo with the slide and head hitting the turf. Look the NFL is already ruining the game with all the bs protection rules, at least make it fair. If they want to protect the QB they should designate one player aka the QB that if he crosses the line of scrimmage he is down when touched by a defender and they get rid of tackling a running QB all together. Problem solved. This would be most fair for the defense and keep the QB safe. They arent valiantly preserving the toughness of the game by encouraging sliding as a way to "give yourself up."
The NFL is about making money. For the next three games, they don’t want him hitting Tua for obvious reasons. Most definitely can’t risk him hitting Patrick and Lamar this close to playoff time. He might take them out too. NFL don’t want that!
So many words / hot air. Azeez was a bit late, didn’t target the head, got excluded. Next. I am massively against head contact but really this was not it.
I think quarterbacks should have to wear sequins uniforms with pink tutus and ballet slippers and anyone who touches them will be fined or suspended for hurting the little dears. On second thought we will just turn the game into flag football, because two hand touch is too violent for today.
Stephen gay Smith needs to focus on just basketball. Just saying shit Just to hear himself. Texans have at least gave black coaches a chance repeatedly. Why doesn’t dumbdumb ever talk about that.
Losed me on 2nd Amendment reason. Get the coaches involvement. If they call a quarterback run, then he's just like a runningback. The other time, like you said, a fifteen penalty. NFL caused the problem by wanting running quarterbacks.
"After-Thought"? Our most cherished and transformative right was an after-thought to our founding fathers? Is this bc you went to a woke school, Seth? Please explain further or give me a link, please. Also, was this a "hate" hit by a pro hamas player against an Israel/Jewish supporter?
Palestinians aren't Hamas as a whole, also who cares about their religion are you seeking out if an atheist tackles someone who's christian, christian vs jewish, etc. Seek help please...
The Texans should sign at least a backup WR like Corey Davis who can catch the football with tip toe catches near sidelines. Also a player that played for the Tennessee Titans and he did good when he was there.
I would've been pissed of getting forcefully pushed from behind, like Azeez was by stupid AF Evan Engram! But I get Evan Engram did that to protect his QB and fight for him. I understand that... but that was a little too much and basically started the melee between both teams.
We all needed to hear from a quarterback that knows Tom told us all what we needed to hear 🎯

Steven A knows football like I know how to do surgery because I played Operation a few times.
The fact that the slide has become so scrutinized the last few days lets you know it was a late slide theybjust can't admit it
Change the rule!!!!! People are realizing the rule should be changed
It's been proven Stephen don't know football shannon sharpe embarrassed him a couple days ago

Once. The QB crosses the line of scrimmage he is a running back !
That doesn’t mean you hit a QB sliding he’s in a defenseless position it was a dirty play he had plenty of time to stop you can’t defend it

The Texans proceed by playing 3 games without Azeez. That was simple. Next question.

Stephen A is a total AK, that was a late slide from a player afraid to get down too fast to keep from reinjuring his shoulder

I mean let’s be for real. Who in their right mind is sliding for that 1st down with monster Al protecting it?
I wonder how the nfl fans are going to treat the Texans when they go on the road.
waiting until u see a guy about to clean ur clock to slide is not protecting urself
NFL tryna abolish real defense💀

To be honest with you jags are better with Mac Jones
Steven A should do what he does best is trash the Cowboys😂
I have no use for Stephen A Smith. Period. I don’t watch him and I never will.

They didn’t want running qbs..the rpo caused that. The 2nd amendment is a bit ambiguous.
Instead of tackling they should play patty cake .

What does “woke” mean?
Waiting on a response….. crickets
