    Good Video!
    I catch good fat fish last season with a chapped tail. It’s was also double survivor because he was 1/4” shorter. Good luck all fishing family!!!

    NJ beaches are so much easier to do this on than south shore Long Island beaches

      I was just gonna say the same thing. The Sandy Hook (or wherever this is) terrain and surf really attracts some nice doormats. Much rarer in LI. Plus LI has much rougher wash and constant south wind.

    Great vid! Caught a sundial there last week and then got spooled by a sea monster of some sorts. My sandal then broke so it was a miserable walk back to the parking lot. Plan to revisit there in a couple days! Let me know if you're down to fish together dude!

      Thanks Ryan! You probably got spooled by a cownose ray. They come to our waters around July. Sound like a brutal day hahaha I can totally relate. DM me on instagram maybe we will get out there sometime.

    Bro its so easy to Google the name of a fish lol.
    SunDial not sand dial!
    And Puffer fish not Toad fish.
    You'll catch a lit of them in the summertime, especially bottom fishing.
    Good Job!
    Single jig with Jerk shad is definitely the way to go for Fluke! I always do best with Chartreuse color.

    Awesome video! You really put in the time. I wish I can do the same. I try to grind it out and caught plenty of short fluke but the searobins are just too thick to the point of annoying in my area. I do eat robins and they are actually good but in no mood to clean them.

      @NikolasMarshall  29 днів тому +1

      Thanks brother! I've got lots of time to fish right now but im not sure how long this is going to last lol. Gotta use it while I can. Fishing the surf is always a grind man. I suggest maybe targeting spots like inlets and bays where the fish are more concentrated in certain areas. Only problem is that a lot of the land in these areas is private. Use google maps and google earth to try and find some spots. You can use the website called GPS Nautical Charts to see water depths at certain spots. This will help you figure out if the spot is deep enough to hold fish and you can find drop offs / ledges. Next video I make I might go over how to find spots and what to look for. Good luck man and keep grinding!

      @@NikolasMarshall I was on the ocean beach on the east end of the island so I use a heavier setup, 3/4” bucktail and then a teaser like 1’ up my leader, 5/0 gamakatsu baitholder with a white skirt on it. Both had 4” chartreuse gulp grubs on them, it hit the bucktail like a truck I didn’t even think it was a fluke for the first half of the fight, made sashimi and then grilled up the rest was an awesome catch and eat

      Check out gmt_cooks posted some pics there, I also got a little guy without a tail later in the week that def could be from blues or other predators when they’re juveniles

    Was this the bay or ocean front? I feel like the ocean is a bit heavier with the wave action and the wash.

      Hey rich, I fished both the ocean and the bay in this video. This part of the bay was just close to the ocean and there’s always boat traffic which creates wake. Good luck man!!

    Great video man. I’m on a family trip for the week in LBI. We’re down in Loveladies. Beginner surf fisherman. Gonna throw my ass out on the beach here in loveladies looking for fluke. If anyone knows a better spot for me to go PLEASE let me know

    • @NikolasMarshall
      @NikolasMarshall  2 дні тому +1

      Thanks Matt! LBI is an awesome place to fish. For the most part the beaches are pretty similar no matter where you go. I suggest you target the deep pools on the beach. You can see them well on low tide, but during high tide it may be harder to spot them. just remember where they are when the tide comes in. Fishermen’s headquarters is a great tackle shop to get gear and local info. Good luck man!

      You can catch fluke all day long. I usually fish early morning or late afternoon there because less people in the water. Fishing when the tide is changing is usually better than when it’s slack (not changing). Good luck man have fun

    Nice video. Which color is better for fluke? Are you using the Aurora black?

    • @NikolasMarshall
      @NikolasMarshall  Місяць тому

      I have not tried Aurora Black yet but I don't see why it wouldn't work. Japan shad and crack black have worked for me and other anglers I know so far. You can find those ones on ebay. The ghost minnow colors seem to work too you can find them on Amazon. Hope this helps!
