Hehe yeah. When I was these kids age, cassettes were the latest 'mobile technology' replacing LP's and if you had a personal cassette stereo cassette player that had Dolby stereo and recorded you were rich. I remember spending a weeks salary on a Kenwood one 1cm thick, and my music a shelf full of cassettes. It was a real bummer when the cassette players 'ate' them and all the tape came out like spaghetti wasn't it lol. Remember the 'splice fix' trick with sellotape?!

The world is focused on China and Russia, but actually Khomeinist Iran has been the most successful post-Cold War state in expanding its influence and basically creating an Empire across the Middle East. Iran now has massive influence in Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and Gaza, has built up Hezbollah into a very formidable politico-military force that drove Israel out of Lebanon, and helps anti-Western regimes as far away as Nicaragua.

😂😂😂😂😂 Do you know that Western Agenda ( CIA and British ) sent Ayethullah Khomeini from France to overthrow King Shah ? 😂, You would surprise If you know that all Islamic Radical fanatic groups and Wahabi rulers funded and supported by Western Colonizers and corporate governments in order to stop spreading Communism in the middle east in 20th cebtury. If you use your brain a little to think and analise , you would surprise and will realise that Yaseer Arafat and Syria supported by Russian agendas . And west suppressed Russian Oil companies influence in the Middle East by creating Islamic radicals in order to replace secular freedom movements who were backed by Soviet and Communist countries. This is a war better BP & Gaz Prom. This A war between Zionist Jews and Bolshevic Communist Jews . They use other countries nad religions for their greediness . You will suppose that Zionist Jewish bankers funded Hitler to kill orthodox Jews on order to loot their gold nad to create Zionist Israrl. You would Surprise that when Zionist Jews created Israel , Communists Boshevic Jews settled in Israel. Zionist's and Communists happily live in Israel without problem . But they use other country territory , religiouns and resourcers for their greediness. They create wars and sell weapons . They Control entire world ubder their banking system. Russia , China and Khomeini are Controlled by Bolshevic Jews and their decendant agendas . Putin work for Oligarch Jews . Western Colonizers and Capitalists are controlled by Zionist , Rothschild bankers and doing service for Zionist's. Nazi was created by Zionists . Nazi work with Zionist's. Captalism , Communism , Nazi , Zionism, Islamic radicalism, Khomeinism all are creatrd by same devils to devide and loot the world. Economical.sunction are import only for poor people. High corrupted Iranian politicians invest corfupted money in western companies and in western banks 😂 . They are Atheists and are against all religions. They promote LGBT to replace human resourcers with Robot and AI . They work for New World order. Islamic radicals and Khomeini are their tools. They oppress too Christians and orthodox Jews. Their next target is India nad China to reduce population. Open your blind eyes .

My friend (I’ll call him John) lived in Iran just prior to the Shah’s overthrow. My friend was Caucasian, his wife Iranian. Their son, obviously half Iranian. John had some high ranking friends involved with the overthrow. They told him, “Your wife is okay. However, we can’t promise your safety ~ or your son’s. Please leave before this gets out of our control. We like you and don’t want harm to any of your family but others in this movement don’t feel the same way.”
My friend had to escape with his son under the cover of darkness. His friends (those involved in the Shah’s removal) helped him escape.
It is much more detailed and interesting when he tells his situation.
    Thanks for posting this video.

I went to the Mausoleum of Ayatollah Khomeini when I was in Iran last summer. It was the only time throughout the entire 15 days that I felt any bit of unwelcomeness. They didn't know that I was American, just a young western guy, but the people at that one location are the diehard conservatives. The rest of my time in Iran I would openly tell people that I was American and they would say "Welcome to Iran! I hope you enjoy your stay here!" and chat with me about my thoughts on Iran, their favorite things about America (the "American Dream," Los Angeles, NYC, the tv show Friends, etc) and just want to practice their English. Obviously I was interacting with everyday people, not the government, but I really enjoyed my trip. The mosques and palaces in Shiraz and Isfahan were especially amazing (as well as Golestan Palace in Tehran), and the food was delicious! Side note, you can tour the former American embassy now (it is essentially a propaganda museum now but there are old CIA relics etc on display).

Just wanted to make a few corrections:
    • the UK and the Soviets invaded Iran during World War II in order to steal Persian OIL for free, to help fund the Allies’ war effort against Hitler - NOT because the Nazis were going to invade Iran
    • Khomeini was supported by the West, including the US, because the Shah wanted to nationalize the OIL - as Mossadegh had done in the 1950s, and just like with PM Mossadegh, the West refused to let all that FREE oil escape its clutches (see: Operation Ajax)
As a Persian-American, Khomeini is the Great Satan for me and every single Persian I know, both here in the States and abroad. But the bigger Satan? Colonialism. Imperialism.
What the US never understood is that Iran is not like the other Middle-Eastern countries, in that it has infrastructure, education, wealth, and a long history spanning millennia of fighting against outsiders (including the Muslim Arabs). That’s why Iranians speak Persian, not Arabic, and why the most important holiday for all of us is Persian New Year - a Zoroastrian holiday, long before the Abrahamic religions like Islam were created.
The lesson here: never underestimate the Iranian people.

Fantastic overview and history of this era. I was a young man joining the US Army during the 80's and always wondered why we were at "difference" with Iran. No internet back then and research was not something the common person conducted on a regular basis. Current events were still hard to follow with TV and news magazines being the only outlet.
    Thank you 😊

During his flight back to Iran from exile in France, a reporter asked Khomeini what was he feeling to be returning to his motherland, his home. He famously responded "Nothing"

shah tried turning iran to a 1st world country but the stupid people protested for that
      shah gave everything to iranians
      they didnt want it
comparing khomeini and shah is insane
the cost of dollar was not changed a single time in shahs time so nothing got more expensive expect for time that it changed 5 rials which is less than a toman and people were arguing for the change that happend after so many years
shahs father made it illegal for people to wear hijabs but shah made it legal again so people could do what they want
he gave homes to the victims of earthquakes, fires and etc
while khomeini executed 200k teenager because they didnt like khomeini
shah didnt want to sell oil to us and other countries so they took him out
