    Gary, 3 nuggets is a very fair price for a much needed steel rake, remember what suppliers did back in the 1800's, over charged for very much needed items, they got richer than the miners. Jeff, you under bid for the rake rental, maybe that was 3 nuggets per hour? Nice chunky 1st gold nugget Gary, very dirty though. Good job on reclamation, leave no trace & leave the woods looking nice, Thanks Gary for the adventure, always good to see you & Jeff working together, gold for both. • @patdenney7046
    @patdenney7046 6 місяців тому

    The biggest one I dug this year is a 4 Penny .
    Built the house didn’t have much time for Detecting .
    Go or above or to the top of the workings use your best gold instinct less trash and bigger nuggets.
    A lot of times you have to dig them P streaks once you figure them out but it’s well worth it.
    It takes goal knowledge you can fold the page streaks specially when she figured out you can see the old-timers were they followed him it’s a game changer.
    And if you look carefully it’s not always the old-timers that Doug and I’ve done stuff and you did your holes in your back feel all the time when you fall pay streaks so you don’t leave a hole And if you do throw a bunch of big sticks and rocks in it so you can clean it out when you come back to the old couple mills in there nobody clean out maybe one of us would but you’re right you pretty much can’t see the holes we dug the loan we made the whole entire hydraulic press look like parks.
    It’s a hard thing to do but you get the talent.
    On the hydraulic pits you look for the older working of that above the pits that will get you in the right direction it’s hard because we’ve destroyed a lot of those filled them in and work them groomed them up so you could even tail when you leave hole if you want them to look like the old times I’ve been there style stack the rocks and stuff blend right in.
    They work by hand why shouldn’t your piles look the same sometimes I do if you really think about it.
    Was in your store several times over the years ordered some dredge hoses and things like that.
    You might be a little bit familiar with at the group miners from Quincy we started detecting in the early 80s pretty much the whole group I hang out with has made a pretty decent living out of it some of us are really good and I’ve done nothing but detect for income it’s nice to mix it up
    Hydraulic pits aren’t hard to find and we pounded in the hell out of all Then we came back and did it again and again we we would camp right in the pits months two months best times of the year and then move to Arizona or wherever the best mine was for the weather conditions but that’s not where you get all the gold there’s better places can be in the same areas kind of like Your buddies work in that place called secret Creek they didn’t figure out the secret I found some gold there’s a lot more there you can clear the stuff off to the bedrock and you still won’t hear that gold specially if there’s quite a bit of it and you do know but if there’s a bunch of nuggets it cancels out the signal food for thought try it you got to get it down deep in the dirt.
    You’ll figure it out don’t wanna give too much way out here in public like this even though they couldn’t figure it out if you don’t have gold knowledge

    You answer questions? 1) is the smaller coil better for old bedrock? And 2) can you use a carrot to locate the gold the detector picked up? Thanks

    • @TwoToes
      @TwoToes  4 місяці тому

      Pin pointers don't work well on small pieces of gold.
      Smaller coils will find smaller gold, but you give up depth and separation. When you ground balance, the coil only sees what is under it, if you have a small coil you only balance to a small sample. Once you move from that spot the ground does change. That is why small coils are more susceptible to hot rocks.
