- Porta Estel·lar (the catalan for Star Gate), by PlayMID, is an immersive light and sound installation inside a plane. This video is a document of the set-up made on Barcelona's Ciutadella park during september of 2015.
Through the creation of visual and sound sequences that suggest the idea of interstellar travel, audience flies to outer space in an intense trip, from departure and takeoff to the sighting of comets, planets, galaxies and alien worlds, until finally returning safe to earth.
The plane itself is an art project from Eduardo Cajal, www.trashumante.org/, who bought, transformed and adapted the plane to hold this kind of art performances inside it.

I would really love to know more about how Cinema 4D is used as the LED controller. Very impressive!
+Alex Gorbatchev As I understand this they build the model in c4d exported it to madmapper and did the mapping there, but not 100% sure if it's really what they did.
+brax401gbz thanks a ton for the MadMapper reference, I didn't know about it. I'll keep digging!
+Alex Gorbatchev We modeled asimplified 3d model of the LED skeleton in Cinema4D. We also textured that model with a flat texture, where each pixel is a LED. Then we created an interactive simulator in Unity3D. The contents where created with After Effects and the resulting video was passed in realtime to the simulator via Syphon. Finally we used MadMapper to remap the videotexture pixels to the real pixels.... quite a crazy process ;)
+PlayMID sorry.... the syphon was used to bring the video texture to the interactive Unity3D simulator. We always need a 3D simulator to make the compositions of complex systems like this... so we can work the creativity with the virtual interactive mode in the studio... hope its clearer now.
