Spider man 2 truly insane with rain
FRRR BRO I LOVE IT
It is jus an ENB of GTA4. Puts reflections over everything.
It's not washed out, its realistic lighting. The 1st one has that over saturated bright cartoony look. Spiderman 2 is a massive upgrade in terms of lighting. Gameplay looking like you're watching a cinematic. Exceptional work.
As much as I agree with most of what you said, the shadows and city textures got objectively worse. Everything in the new one is insanely brighter with very little contrast. Realistically these shadows would have more impact, but instead it's giving out this weak sun effect on most of them
Night time is a work of art though 🤌 (except for the apartment/office lights at night. I'm from NYC and it looks like Manhattan during quarantine when everyone was home lol).
What you call a massive upgrade to lighting is whats been the gold standard since 2016, proper volumetric global illumination, Insomniac is once again a few steps behind but console fanboys aren't used to any better so they think this is magic or something, while we're literally having path tracing on PC already
@@albanier8426 what makes it even funnier is that this is all baked, non of this "exceptional lighting" is dynamic in any way. insomniac has never been able to make a game with a proper day night cycle, which means technically, this game is on the same level as killzone shadowfall or ryse son of rome, which came out 10 years ago
@@albanier8426🤓
I like the new colors a lot I always thought the colors in the first game were a bit too dark and washed out nice to see the more vibrant colors
its the illusion of vibrant because theres more color variation. like what guardians of the galaxy did. its much more realistic tho

It's kind of wierd how bright the lights are at night in spiderman 2 compared to the original, it's like everyone in New York installed a 60000W light bulb between the two games
What's weird is the Night not being truly dark in the remaster. It's more of a blue tint like the moon is always shining directly on u.
@@marcusmoore2942Something that bugged me about the remastered version is them completely turning off the lights in that tall Park Avenue building (the one that looks like a giant rectangle).
Looks Like spiderman WOS or spiderman 3 the movie game
I thought 60000 watt bulbs were the norm now😁😁🤣🤣🤣
Spiderman 2 graphics remind me of the first e3 2016 trailer reveal graphics that we saw for the first game and never got it.
I’ve been saying the same thing, especially with the old advanced suit with the original colors and the shiny look to it
I thought the same
@gn2727 No, this is even better than 2016 graphics we saw in the first trailer. What i meant was that its tone and artistic style are close to the 2016 trailer, and i like it. Graphics dont always mean higher or lower LOD
If there was something I could criticize the first game for in it's visuals, it's how lighting and colours worked. The contrast would be insane at times and it was hard to get a good look at your suit most of the time because it got super dark when you pushed the camera to the floor. I never really liked the colour tones they settled for either, thought the bluer look from the E3 trailers looked better. Miles Morales and this sequel look so much better in comparison!
Bro what? U comparing ps5 game to ps4 so of course spiderman 2 will look better. At the time spidermam 1 was one of the best looking game on ps4.
@@jdennis867Spider-Man was a good looking game but these are all valid reasons. Spider-Man ps4 and even the remaster had weird lighting issues that weren’t a problem in Miles morales (which is also a ps4 game)
@@jdennis867 Read my comment very carefully next time
@@dignusdingus3709I agree. I remember liking the look of the e3 trailer cus it had the cooler tone to it and in the final version they changed it and made the color tone more yellowish and brown. Looked really unappealing imo. Also there was like no global illumination so everything looked pretty flat
The overall level of meticulous detail in SM2 is what got me...I mean you can see moving people in the buildings across a considerably larger map...
Night time in Spider-Man 2 is insane.
Unfortunately we can't freely switch between day and nighttime anymore...
@@PAXperMortem it’ll make the eye candy all the more sweeter.

Great comparison! Weather conditions, lighting and reflections bring the game world to life, refreshing the environment.
😐 those things that you mentioned regarding SM2s world feeling alive is so much more beyond that to how the games world is SO SO FAR from 'alive'
@@godzillazfriction Yeah buddy npcs dont have their whole lives programmed and guess what, horse balls dont shrink either… The devs definitely didnt have their priorities straight.
@@godzillazfriction Well, based on the first impressions from the comparisons I looked at, it seems to me that the city residents simulate life activities quite well. Although of course, if we compare it with Rdr 2, I think we both understand where the more vibrant world is among the virtual ones.
@@markedone494 don't even need the NPCs lives programmed as a whole... compare this to even Watch Dogs 1... the amount of what NPCs were doing was very impressive even if their lives weren't programmed like with Red Dead Redemption 2 but even then... this is a PS5 EXCLUSIVE and it doesn't even f3cking compare to a 2014 game... the criminal activities are merely an illusion for it being called 'dynamic' when there's a set barrier to that area of where the criminal activity takes place and compare this to a F3CKING 7TH GEN 2008 GAME aka Spider-Man: Web of Shadows, the whole 1st act of the games story has criminals in a gang war and will attack innocent ppl on a regular with their hands and weapons then there'll be whole gang wars in the city and actually being dynamic as well as police in cars getting to that place and having a shootout... police would also get to criminals who are intentionally hurting innocent ppl... compare this to Insomniacs SM2 and when you let a thug chase you afar from that site where you started that criminal activity then you'll realise that NONE of the ppl actually react or anything... not even thr fudging police... he can keep on hitting you and the police would just stand there
@@Rostovgenchik and plus in no where did i even compare this to RDR2 but even then why tf are we evolving but even MORE BACKWARDS
In some ways the second game looks better. In some it looks worse. They’ve gone too far with some aspects. Like the lighting at night is way too bright in all the buildings, doesn’t look right. It’s a very very minor upgrade to the game graphically after all these years.
Part 1's only plus is a higher contrast effect...which makes it look appealing, sure...but technically 2 is a big step up. Way more cars, people, amount of buildings and detail on them (actual 3D rooms in windows with ray traced lighting), much more ray tracing usage in general, distant object detail, water is much better looking, textures are sharper, noticeably less pop in...come on now
agreed about the night brightness. they should put some distance fog to make the map look bigger, like in the first game
Spiderman Remaster has the black levels on the Post Processing shader really high. I kind of like that extra level of contrast, some games do this. However, I like the more realistic lighting the 2nd game offers.
100% looks photorealistic on tv compared to garbage youtube.
They really nailed Spider-Man remastered
The draw distance is phenomenal in spider-man 2 that is why the city looks real now.
But it lost that cinematic flair and looks a bit dull
@@Dragonfury3000nah.... no it doesn't.
@@Dragonfury3000 your kidding right?

So i dont have all suits in SM2 yet, but what i noticed - A LOT of them lost their reflections in glasses in compare to first SM... I loved to go into the photo mode and get a super close-up look on glasses, and switch between costumes, and see real time reflections with those, but in SM2, reflections in glasses look almost... worse? or maybe im completely wrong, i wish somebody would test it and checked...

Really good video!
night time city rendering looks better in the remastered version
It looks fake very oversaturated spider man 2 on your tv looks photorealistic.
Also lots of black crush on spider man 1.
On TV Spiderman 2 is just worlds ahead.
I love how bright the lights look at night. It’s hypnotic when you’re swinging, like a beautiful symphony of lights.
i dont tbh. Too bright. they shouldve turned down the loghting at night. Doesn’t look right
even in GTA V nights looks better
The sequel makes the remaster look almost shell shaded, and I thought the remaster was groundbreaking!
Cannot wait for my Spider-Man 2 copy to arrive next week,
4:00 - 4:25
The problem is the suit, it does not interact with the environment, it always has a very matte color
Thats how its supposed to look in indirectly lit scenarios, he isnt supposed to be completely blacked out like in the remaster.
There are billions of suits to wear.
I take back what I said, the game and the environment in general is a fucking Masterpiece
2:46 nothing better than seeing spiderman doing his morning run in the park
My only issue is that there’s way more of a shimmering fuzzy effect going on with building textures and flickering windows. The city density is a huge step up, but the antialiasing is wonky in 2 and definitely deserves a patch to clear it up
Reminds me of Ubisoft trailer vs actual gameplay videos.😄
also a cool location comparison!
There is a noticeable resolution drop if you compare the non-RT performance mode from the 1st game and the performance mode from the 2nd game. I would be happier to have 1800p without RT rather than dynamic 1440 that drops down to 1008 with RT. I don't get this obsession with RT and, in my opinion, high resolution makes the overall experience a lot better than some advanced reflections and shadows with significantly lower resolution and textures
The biggest difference is the season. Autumn vs summer.
Looks like its upgrade /downgrade in certain areas. Overall, 2 looks better than 1 in certain aspects, but the color is more washed out.
In most aspects the colors don’t looked washed out there’s more detail in it more variety of colors being used to the point where it makes New York actually look more realistic compared to the first game. If you like that yellowish tint of color the first game gave the building by all means but it’s in no way shape or form better than the new game graphically not even close only character who looks better in the first game is MJ
It's not washed out, its realistic lighting. The 1st one has that over saturated bright cartoony look. Spiderman 2 is a massive upgrade in terms of lighting. Gameplay looking like you're watching a cinematic. Exceptional work.
Grow a pair of eyes buddy.
@@pesgoatinho1829i keep seeing ppl say this but to me spiderman 2 look way more cartoony and saturated

they using more realistic color grading and Cine Camera exposure on S2. S1 had some "artistic" color grading but I like S2 direction, more color popping, using Chromatic Arbritation effect as well
damn, the first shot for spiderman 2 has the pedestrian floating lol. the color grading in spiderman 2 looks more neutral. It kind of reminds me of the LUT mods for starfield.
there's A LOT of problems in SM2... and if this is the patched version then i do not know how different it is compared to the unpatched version of the game...

Looks Glorious on my LG C2 fidelity 120 hz mode
Cant wait to see it myself in game since this is a youtube video with compression.
10 iconic towers of Manhattan are in lack in spiderman 2.
Liberty Tower, Chrysler Building, Central Park tower, Steinway Tower etc.
In all honesty... I'm struggling to figure out which one is the upgraded Spider-Man. I don't play these games as I don't have a PS5. In my best guess, "Spider-Man" is the older version of "Spider-Man 2" as per 1:20 in regards to reflections and some lighting changes. In some aspects however, like 2:42, the preview on the left looks better as a whole. More details, leaves on the floor, looks nicer, but the right is bare, not much to it. They're both hit and miss, but both have great parts. It's crazy to think there was 3 years in between each of these games as it really, reaally doesn't feel like it. Also like Spider-Man feels a lot nicer visually over Spider-Man 2 at night. The 2nd one looks like they've pasted a ton of white textures on windows of buildings and turned the luminosity up just to make it feel bright, but it's way too overdone.
Insomniac can take all my money! Beautiful job 👏
I like that City Smog at Spiderman remasterd.
these graphics comparison looks way much better than it did 3 weeks ago, somehow.
The only problem that is still there is that the street and building wall textures looks way much poor, but I guess thats what happens when they rely much more on telling a story with real-time rendering

I remember everyone was complaining
The og Spider-Man was amazing for something running on the base ps4. But to see the massive improvements in the sequel just shows how great the performance of the ps5 is. This is the first time I’m completely satisfied with a new console generation. The fact that we get to play these high quality games at a high fidelity and frame rate is so satisfying
The first time? This is the smallest leap though. GoW3, Spiderman 1, killzone 3 etc were all huge leaps over the previous gen. This is better than PS4, sure, but nowhere near the same leap

SM2 has its good and bad points, but I'm okay with that. I'm betting the PC version will fix some of the issues with better shaders. Plus, if they come out with a spinoff or SM3, they've got a lot of feedback to work with, so those games will probably look a whole lot better. I have faith in Insomniac-they learn from criticism. And when it comes to Wolverine, since it's all close combat, I'm expecting way more attention to detail, better character designs, and just an overall better visual experience than SM2.

GTA4's New York is way better made since it is way more interactive. Npcs are actually walking through the city; and cars does drive around the map.
Try follow a car in Spider-Man 2, it creates a traffic jam at first intersection, so the game don't need to bother with driving cars randomly.
The only positive thing about Human-Spider 2 is the size of the city. Great job, the only best thing against all gta maps.
