To minimise any movement due to moisture changes I would paint the back face as well as the front. Since it won't be seen you can use any colour paint you have, perhaps something left over from a previous project.
It looks really good! My bath fits wall to wall too, so I'm planning to make my cladding board panel in two separate parts. That should make it much easier for removal when the plumbing needs accessing. I'm also considering fitting skirting along the bottom to match my existing skirting, but I'll see how I feel once the panels are fitted. Thanks for a great video!
Brilliant idea , I need new bath side and end panels , plain white ones from b & q about £180 , I will look into doing what you have done , like the colour too , adds nice contrast .
I think I got 2 packs of 5, 0.89m in length. You will need to calculate how many you need based on the height and width of your bathtub panel area so that you don't have too much waste or extra material.
I used the colour 'Sapphire Salute' which is a Dulux branded paint. Yes, I know its not really designed for wood but I made it work as I had some spare lying around. I used a satin varnish on top.
Spent all that time watching you hoover dust & scrape silicone when all I wanted to see was the glueing process. The actual “building” of the panel is the bit that’s skipped.

That's a good point, something I didn't think about at the time. I'll consider doing this to mine.

Glad you found it useful. Two parts sounds like a good idea as well as the skirting. Have fun building yours!
Yacht varnish for a waterproof finish! Looks great.
Thank you!

It's very cost effective, and you can always change it if you don't like it.
Looks great, what was the pack size of the cladding boards. My local b&q has lots of different packs

@@KunziDoesStuffthankyou, did you screw it onto the wooden battens
I used the existing wooden frame to screw the panel onto it.
Thanks, sorry one more question, did you glue up the whole panel in one go?
I did it in 3-4 small sections first and then glued all of those pieces together. Gorilla Wood Glue is what I used.
It looks good! Could you write the exact type and color of the blue paint? Thank you in advance.

@@KunziDoesStuff Thank you.
Looks great!
Thanks bro 👊🏼
love it, thanks for the advice! keep it up man!
Thank you!
Watch out for it warping. We had wooden ones and they lasted 3 months before they warped
It’s been a year since mine was done and it’s been fine.
👌 lovely thank you . I'm going to give this a try.
You’re welcome 😊
Great video, thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!

I used gorilla glue and made it in 3 sections first before combining it all together. It ensured the panel remained as flat as possible.
Do you have any video on glueing it together
Looks great 😊
Thank you! 😊
Good job
Thank you!
This musics so funny ❤
Haha glad you like it!
Didn't get a good shot of the finished panel because it looks like sh#t!

I got a good shot of the finished panel - and it looks smashing!
