YUM-O!!! I've noticed that recently Nicko has minimized the use of electrical appliances e.g food processors and electric mixers and beaters. It's actually kinda good. :)
I've never seen it either in Canada but I think the closest thing we have is "creme fraiche". I saw it near the yogurt section in Loblaws. It's a little thicker but I think it would work well for this. Worse comes to worse sour cream would probably do the job too.
having problems finding thickened cream where i live.. is it possible to substitute it with something else? or leave it out completely? this looks so freaking yummy i wanna make it

Love this idea, but I have a doubt, the cream that you used is the same as cream to make whipped cream (chantily) ? I'm Brazilian living in Netherlands so finding the correct ingredients sometimes can be a challenge! I want to try to make one this weekend , thanks for sharing!
Nicko, question. For both this, and your oreo cheesecake, you've said leave 3-4 hours. If i were to cook with say, at night and leave it OVERnight, does this affect the cake in any catastrophic way?
I've made this one and I've made your oreo cheesecake. tonight I'm making chocolate cheesecake but with the oreo cookie crust from the other recipe !The crust is in the oven right now.

@robjnixon Can you pour the cream cheese mixture into the pan, and THEN add the chocolate ontop and swirl it, for a marble cheesecake instead?
