  • In this video I highlight how to improve rotation at impact with some ideas that are a bit more related to creating incentive to do it vs just trying to just rotate harder. I have seen some players once they get the club in a good position they can look at starting to focus on rotating harder because in the old pattern they had to stop to manage where the club was coming from.

    Nice job , you know golf instructors can get as tenical as you want but you Tyler break it down very nice, I totally understood every thing you stated, Great job because if you can't get thru to your students why do it! and you had a video out few months ago with strech band with lead arm , unbelievable when I got that feel, I never really knew what that feel was,,. great training aid, ty , it's definitely all about the feels !

    Great stuff. Tyler, you are one of the best instructors on UA-cam hands down. Your low sub number is an injustice but it might be due to the fact that you cater to more advanced players who are looking for answers. Not that I'm complaining. You should do more dumbed down videos for beginner golfers. Just a suggestion. Please keep 'em coming.

    Thanks for a great explanation Tyler, do you feel that you create stretch in the left shoulder on downswing by pulling hips and chest but not that left shoulder?

    • @tylermcghiegolf
      @tylermcghiegolf  3 роки тому

      Yes I agree. It depends a bit on the player if they need to try to achieve that feel or if it happens naturally.

    Does the left side stretch and right foot push work in tandem post impact? Or is there a post impact swing thought you'd recommend? Thanks.

      Yes and arms extending in the finish. I also like lead foot pushing to help rotation.

    Hi Tyler. I’ve noticed that (for me) this move tends to pull the face a bit inside the target line at impact, leading to toe-side strikes. Thinking that my shoulder line was too open, I used the move while feeling that I was more square to the line at impact with my shoulders (chest still open). It produced flush strikes. What are your thoughts regarding the chest/shoulder response to the lower body rotation and toe hits?

    • @tylermcghiegolf
      @tylermcghiegolf  4 роки тому

      Great question. It is dependent really on the player. My friend Dr. Mark Bull has some great 3d data of 3 recent major champions and all 3 have a big range in how open their chests are at impact. One is actually slightly closed to the target. So for you that could be a great matchup. As a side note I've seen toe hits happen from path of the club being a bit out to in (fade) or the chest moving away from the target (falling back) near impact. But flush strikes are flush strikes so I think you are onto something with that result.

      Tyler McGhie ... Thanks. I’m always on the lookout for things to teach my First Tee and PGA Junior League kids. Athletic Motion Golf reported that the shoulders have up to a 20° range of motion that’s independent of the rib cage rotation. So, your 3D observation fits nicely.
