- Software version of the original MiniBrute analogue synth but with added polyphony, effects and the convenience of having it in your DAW.
Apologies for the focus problems in the angled shot - looked fine when I was editing it - you'll just have to squint a little bit.

I suspect this is partially to make the polybrute sounds available to those who can't afford the larger synths...I kinda wish they did a matrixbrute software as well. I don't have the space for these monsters! My original minibrute is very interesting...it took me some time to warm up to it. But every time I go back and listen to recordings I've made with it, I love it's sounds. Very 3D and warm.
Great demo!! Sounds amazing!!
I'm a huge Arturia fan, and I'll probably buy this, because I already own all of their other plugins, and some hardware. I'm just confused about them not creating a PolyBrute plugin instead. Due to me already owning their other software, I can get it for $49, so it's a fair price. I'm surprised that this is $200 for the regular price. Especially considering that you can get a used MiniBrute, for close to the same price. I'm not hating, I'm just a bit confused about the choices they made. I do wish that they offered people who own all of their other plugins, a little better price. I just bought their new Augmented plugin a couple weeks ago, and I bought their new AstroLab. I feel like $30 would be a better price for people like me, who own their hardware, and plugin collections.
I wholeheartedly agree - it shouldn't be $200, it should be, at most $99
Without being certain cause i lack the expertise , i dont know how long it takes for making a software version of a hardware synth
But i would expect the polybrute to come out . Just later. My imaginery arguments are 1) it might be more complicated to make a software version of a polysynth than a simple synth like the minibrute 2) the minibrute is older. They might have been developing this much longer than the poly since they had more time cause its ….. well, older. I might be completely wrong of course
@@saardean4481 That makes sense, but I would think that a PolyBrute version, would make the MiniBrute Version, obsolete. In turn, buying this, would end up being a waste of money, when the PolyBrute version releases.
@@MoltenMusicTech Yes. Absolutely agree.
Wait you only paid $49 for this lovely plug-in and you’re complaining? lol, I own tons of Arturia software and it cost me $69 which I am delighted about because I’ve already used it in a track. Is $200 fair, maybe not but almost nobody pays full price for it and even a used MiniBrute is only one voice.
Good job, Robin! I'm not even through your video, yet, and I've already purchased it!
Terrific shirt. I had a very similar one that someone tossed out in 1994.
i wasn't expecting for it to sound this good, i don't know why
Yeah, I know, I thought it would be plenty fine but actually it's rather great :D
I’m so glad to see these classic synth emulations. Being able to buy a Prophet 5 or a Korg Wavestate, minifreak for 100.00 or less.. I still use hardware for sampling into my sp404mk2 but working in a daw again has been very satisfying. But I think because I used to use just hardware I enjoy the daw more because I still create the same limited environment i.e. I set up templates with only a few select quality vst synths. The problem with daws is that you can get too bogged down with options that can paralyze with indecision.
Lovely little synth!
Great review and walk-through! I'd already decide it was on my "buy it" list, but this cemented the deal! Cheers!
It sounds really good and you’re done a great job of reviewing.
Thanks!
Convinced me to buy!
Sounds very good. I have not listened to an actual Minibrute recently, but this doesn’t suck.
I wonder if they are working on an updated hardware version for the future as well. The software definitely sounds great.
Thanks for this inspiring video Robin!
I have learned a lot from you seeing how you use the midi controllers to interact with the software.
Sometimes the battle is knowing where to start.
I like how you use knobs on the Keystep for the filter and the less used controls are assigned to the other controller to your right. Is that a eurorack module?
And the mouse is in easy reach too.
Love your work!
I have the Micro since 2017 and for ~2y I've been tempted to pull the trigger on an used OG MINI
I really really hope this vst quenches my thirst for Brutes 😆
I've got a Minibrute 2s and this doesn't sound half bad. It's close enoigh thst I don't think I could tell the difference in a track. Thanks for letting me hear it without the slathering of effects Arturia demoed it with. Still feels a bit digital, but considering the extra voices you get and the much smaller desk footprint it's a great deal at its sale price
Thanks for the video. I bought the VST. Can you tell me about your little midi controller with all of the sliders and knobs? It looks DIY. I'd love to buy or make one.
It’s from N0 Modular called the Midilar
Builders, cockerel and planes. Full house!!
Nice Video! Were you just using this pluggin’s software app or was this the pulggin within a DAW?
Just by itself
I stumbled up on your channel because of your video about your tapemachine. Is it still around?
Thinkin about a Revox A77.
It’s still very much around, a little neglected but I have every intention of using it
That’s sounds great and they’ve done it justice and made it poly which it should have been in the first place I think. Are the FX I think I’m hearing onboard or external .
I’ll be curious to hear what minibrute 2 V sounds like if they do it - and again poly thanks.
They would have been Roland killers!
All effects are from the synth
VSTs, builders and cockerels aside... nice posters! 👍
is this available now? I can't find it on the arturia website???

@@MoltenMusicTech cheers👍
Waggington bop and an old chocolate hat!
A great little synth...thanks for your vid. While real hardware synth guys think I'm nuts, I'd love to see a manufacturer build bespoke controllers that are dedicated to a particular classic synth VST. Sounds crazy I know, but considering how cheap it is to build a midi controller today, I'd love to pull out an inexpensive "synth" and have all the hardware controls at my fingertips. Not unlike the billion-dollar industry that is replica AIrSoft guns, I think there might be a market here.
Let me introduce you to SoundForce sound-force.nl/?page_id=2318
@@MoltenMusicTech Perfect, thanks.
I have so many plug-ins I’m going to die before I can fully use them all, will it stop me from buying this absolutely not.
Hi. I'm Jonathan, and I'm a plug-in addict. 🙄
I couldn’t help myself either
what the controller you are using and Im not talking about the keystep
The N0 Midilar
@@MoltenMusicTech I was just about to ask and reference the video at 21:25 when you point to it. I am looking for a good MIDI controller solution that basically turns any of the old synth emulations into something organic that I can control with knobs and sliders. That would be an interesting video to comment on comparing different options and price points. Thanks for the great videos!
@@MoltenMusicTech I want one, Ive emailed them but not heard anything back.... ( british ex pat living in florida) been a awhile since i was last in Norwich
@@DMRobot101 I totally agree with everything you said
I'm not sure he's still trading
MiniBrute Vee
This release is proof that Arturia can make the PolyBrute 12 in software without any issues.
All you need is a controller that supports MPE.
I have one, but I find I don't really do anything useful with the additional expressions and then it gets in the way of doing regular things.
Just got it downloaded. Love the real minibrute. Why THE HELL is the CPU use so high on this vst? Is anyone else having this problem?
Yes, they say it’s to do with the depth of detail in the filter modelling
@@MoltenMusicTech I mean. I guess I could see that. It's my favorite filter in the world. 🤷🏻♂️
virtual?
V for Virtual, not V for 5.
We stopped using Roman numerals
Millennia ago 🥴
Yeah, those unnecessary Latin years in my secondary education has also built up to those moments of VST pronunciation dilemma, V or 5? :)
If the brute runs on chips it will defiantly go with chicken
✌👋
Sorry i can not even Watch this 😂 but you are a nice Guy with good content
Ummm… thanks!
It's 'V' as in the letter, as in 'virtual'. Why would it be 'five'? That would make their Prophet 5 V a Prophet 'double V', lol.
I ain't saying that I'm making any sense, it just trips me up every time :D
Saved me 100 dollars. Ive sat at my sam ash for hours trying to get into the original. Thinking i just dont know how to patch it right. Now i figured out its just not my cup of tea.

Hello Robin! Great video. I pray for us all everyday. You inspire me to take my walk with Christ into a real modular journey!
Thank you for that.
