Welcome to my casual role play of Dragon Age Origins! In this series we will follow Brynn Cousland as she, with the help of her faithful companions, attempts to unite the land of Ferelden against the terrible Darkspawn Blight. As a casual role play, I will be talking to the audience most of the time, but during dialogue scenes I will role play as Brynn, and will also make gameplay decisions based on what Brynn would do.
In this episode: Bryn and the gang are still traveling through the Deep Roads, entering an area where the enemies are a lot tougher than they've experienced before.

Finally caught up, with the deep roads the companion shale you can get with the stone prisoner DLC actually has a significant role with this part of the game, and the companion was meant to be a part of the base game but they had to make it a DLC B/c they couldn’t get the character to function properly in time for it to be made for release, hence it was a free DLC, and if you took the character with you to the fade in the circle you can see it’s original form before release, in one of those night mare scenarios
Wasn't Shale in two of the books also, Stolen Throne & Asunder?
I honestly don’t remember, I remember that she was meant to be in the base game, but needed more time in the oven
Love the art direction and sound in the Deep Roads. It feels deep underground and dangerous.
My strategy in DA:O is to select all the companions (with Ctr. A on PC--I don't know what the command is in x-box, though the keybindings might show it). Then I attack the weakest creature and all 4 of us are wailing on it, quickly killing it before the next weakest creature. That usually works. I also do what you did, making the companions hold while I lure creatures back to us in a divide and conquer strategy.
Wynne had 'curse of mortality', heal & potions don't work while 'regenerate' might...iirc
