When I was a young boy, 60, 70 year old people looked old. These guys look good still. They look like they are only 30-40 years old! Kasim never ages. Rundgren, Willie, they all look good. Make a new album, please Utopia!
I discovered Todd Rundgren by accident when I was listening to some music. He is a true legend of Rock. Also, he produced many famous albums by these famous bands: New York Dolls, Grand Funk Railroad, XTC, Meat Loaf, Badfinger and The Sparks, just to name few. If you want a true Todd Rundgren, in my opinion you should listen to these albums: Something/Anything, A Wizard, a True Star, Initiation, Todd, Runt, Healing, Utopia, Adventures in Utopia, Oops! Wrong Planet, Ra, Live at Chicago Theater, The Individualist, a True Star Live. HE IS THE REAL DEAL, REAL MUSICIAN, AND HE RULES!!!
I'm a long term appreciator of Todd and Utopia - for me one of their finest moments, which they are rarely given enough credit for, is the playing they did on Meatloaf's Bat Out of Hell which is head and shoulders above the equivalent backing on any other Meatloaf or Steinman album.: the quality is clear to hear.
Im so grateful they decided to include some of the prog rock instrumentals....the history of the band was really covered and i must say - it was a show I will never never get tired of talking about and remembering....I did the meet and greet which pretty much left me speechless except I asked Willy how he "stayed so sexy" - they all got a kick out of that....
As someone who saw the RA tour live, I certainly remember it in that context, but I’d have loved to have heard Communion and Singring without the pyramid and Maurice. Some of my favorite riffs, keys, melodies and rhythms in that stuff.
At about 19:00, Todd speaks to an interesting point about this band, due to their evolution of styles. I was one of those there from the beginning, so my favorite Utopia goes up through RA. People who took an interest with the later stuff don’t always appreciate the prog and Mahavishnu lite stuff.
Check my front row videos from Seattle a few months ago ! Met him before the show and asked if I could video. He laughed and said, "As long as you're not an asshole." Apparently I wasn't ! He has liked my vids. Click on that guitar to the left. ;-)
Todd is god.Love this guy forever. He touches his nose a lot ,in all his interviews.Cant believe it’s coke, he is way to together and smart.Just bad sinuses? But he certainly is talkative always and never stops with the nose rubbing and sniffing. What up wit dat?
Very Last Time, Only Human, so many things. But they have a finite time. The Wheel did NOT work. I Will Wait did not work either. Monument was not necessary. Next tour they do let us hope they will change the set list a bit
My very first album was Utopia - The Icon ......Hiring Utopia was a great move - letting Utopia sing was a good move - letting Utopia write the music was a total fuck-up - I didnt go see this last years reunion tour because it always seems the live music is not up to par with the original album - vocals, timing, tone, youth ... it is all obviously blurred and rotted by the time the OLD VERSION of the genius work is presented -
I love and respect you Todd, but please stop playing with your nose. I see it on all your interviews. I know you don't snort, but what the heck? Pick and blow your nose before the interviews...
Hi, George B! I probably need both a life and attention! But as I said, I respect Todd. My musical efforts have been inspired by him. To me, he is a True "70's Star. I saw the 1st UTOPIA in 1974. He can do what he wants on the interviews but I just don't get it. I try not to play with my body on camera even though I have failing eyesight, loss of hair, allergies, excessive mucus and hemorrhoids. But I am not famous (thank goodness). That's OK. Don't look, don't watch, just comment.
How are ya michael d! Yea, watch some other of the other interviews. I'm not sure what that is all about. A nervous twitch, perhaps? Todd Rundgren is an incredibly talented member of our musical heritage.
This guy made me see the light in music. Thank You Todd Rundgren.
That was an EXCELLENT interview! Your enthusiasm for Todd and Utopia really shone through.
Todd my favorite musician.

Saw them in Chicago this year, FABULOUS!!! So glad I was there. Thanks Utopia!
Where in Chicago?
You changed my life! I love you Todd, Kasim, Wille and Roger!

Saw the show in Phoenix................. Dream Come True!! Never thought it would happen................ Todd pulls it off once again!
Phenomenal interview. Man I could listen to Willie all day!
One of the best shows I’ve ever seen
You guys were and are amazing
Did you see Utopia, or the new "Unpredictable" tour? (We are attending that show this Sunday in Missoula, MT)
Tim Mahoney
I did see Utopia , was amazing
I’ve seen past unpredictable shows but not newest one
We need a new Utopia record now more than ever!

Willy nailed it - 4 musicians that came together at that particular time that fit together - and were so much more than the sum of the individuals....
Saw Todd and the band in May here in Phoenix, still in awe! Thanks so much fellas! 🌵❤👌
I was there too....... third row! Awesome!!

Awesome - We LOVE you Todd et al.
So sad that Roger was not able to participate - but I get it - I just turned 56 and it's catching up to me all ready......
Great Interview of the best group on the planet! Utopia has to make new music. They are so good.
The Very Last Time should be on every set list. Grrrrrr lol
As someone who saw the RA tour live, I certainly remember it in that context, but I’d have loved to have heard Communion and Singring without the pyramid and Maurice. Some of my favorite riffs, keys, melodies and rhythms in that stuff.
Shame Todd and Willie do not get on. Doubt a new Utopia record or even another tour is possible

Kasim and Todd got their teeth fixed because of this band.

it was an amazing show -- one that i never thought i'd get to see. but for the life of me, why wasn't CRYBABY in the setlist?
Very Last Time, Only Human, so many things. But they have a finite time. The Wheel did NOT work. I Will Wait did not work either. Monument was not necessary. Next tour they do let us hope they will change the set list a bit
Will it ever happen again? I wonder.
