Honestly, I never got the hype for komaki. While he was good, I was never particularly interested by the drumming on T H E, while I have been pleasantly surprised by Yusuke Yoshida's performances several times. He feels like a more creative drummer, while being at least as skilled as komaki, and seems to have even better chemistry with the rest of the band.
Math Rock just seems like one of those genres that's simply ahead of it's time, but I'm glad and grateful to be able to experience it at this point in my life. Thank you Tricot.

Not saying it's bad music, in fact I love it, but a few bars of 7 and splitting up 8s at 3+3+2 is hardly more mathy than the average rock tune nowadays. It's accessible because it is not all that different from what "non-math rock fans" are checking out. I'd argue bands like Invalids or toe are doing more to make some truly mathed-up music palatable to the masses. But everyone's boundary between math and non-math genres is different, so it's cool that we get to have so many choices to listen to.

wow, I only recently listened to their latest EP which was unbelievably good and only some hours later i find this which is even better!? this is straight up a miracle band.
If they keep this up on the new album it's gonna be the best one yet. The energy and catchiness from THE with all the songwriting experience and improved vocals over the past couple of years. I can't fuckin wait
