  • Replacing a differential Side Axle seal in my Mazda MX-5 Miata with the NB torsen 7" diff.
Because it was leaking oil and made a bit of a mess after a recent track day.

It'll be worth checking the diff oil level since it will be lowered due to the leak. Also, a bit of lube on the sealing surface helps the seal from being burnt from friction. Cheers for making up the seal installer tool design! I printed one of your designs to do my rear main seal. 👍

This was a great video. That lift system looks like a perfect fit for your workshop!

Hey Beavis, big fan of your vids ! especially the white NB, what a beast ! But i ve got a question that i ve been wanting to ask you for a long time, Instead of going the turbo route, Why not consider building a supercharged NB beast ?

      Thank you.
The turbo made sense for the track car where I could build and tune it at a more serious level - and the parts availability lends more toward turbo.
I had a supercharger for quite a while on the NA seen in this video, it was a great solution for a road car with more linear torque curve, lower cost and more mild power level.

Now that's a bit of a mystery, where did the spring go? If the diff's been on the car for awhile, you'd think the oil would have started leaking pretty quickly.

I assume if I ever open up the case I'll find the spring floating around in the bottom of the oil?

@Bbeavis True! Or it's possible it could be smashed into dust by the gear-set 🤣

Unrelated question, but what alignment specs do you run on your track nb?

I mostly just follow 949 racing's advice around what is described for the race alignment here:
