I miss the platform heels it was less strain on my foot compared to the ones that are directly on the floor and have no support. Also since the platform was there the heels could look high but not actually be that high of an incline on your foot. The weight of the shoes also feels way more stable.
That platform actually ADDED to the comfort and stability of these shoes. The platform actually made those 5 and 6 inch heels feel more like a 3 to 4 inch heel. I still have a few of my heels with that high heel and chunky platform.
As someone who only wore the thicker ones/wedges for work at 16-18. No way I wasn't doing anything but platforms. Haven't worn heels since, and even then if I'm behind the counter they were off my feet.😭😂 But platforms is what saved my clumsy ass

theyre actually really bad for you calves though since over time they cause the muscle to tighten, so when you try to stretch your foot back or stand flat its going to be a strain

Yes! I could go out dancing all night and run for a cab, then go to another club. It’s kind of crazy. I had tall heels like this and my mom was getting married in Vegas and forgot her marriage license in the room. I ran all the way there to get it and didn’t fall or trip once haha!! 😂

I was running on pavement, dirt, grass, up hill down hill, I was unstoppable and never fell 😂..Now that I’m 37 I think i would be in the hospital after my first two steps. 😂

I used to have a neighbor who was a stripper and she let me try on her 9" work boots once. I could literally run in them lol. These are beautifully comfortable weapons. I used to work in Property Mgmt, showing empty apartments to people I didn’t know. I knew my heels could be removed & sticking out of someone’s ear/eye/throat in a matter of seconds (if needed). I could also run, clear flights of stairs &/or dance till dawn. Best heels ever! 🙌👠❤

Right, the ladies from early 2000s don't realize those platform heels were out in the 1970s to 80s. Some young ladies actually wore them to school but it was tough.going up & down 3 to 4 flights of stairs. Many wore them at the Clubs. Many women did wear the high wedges which were more stable.
That’s why I’m keeping all my old stuff, in style or not. The quality is there compared to what I see on the shelves today. I wish I kept some of my aunts and grandparents stuff. Glamorous

My legs looked STUNNING in them platform heels. I still have one pair, all black leather but the inside of the heel is mirror golden metal and they look amazing. Hopefully like any other fashion these heels will come back❤❤

These were my daughter’s era clubbing shoes. They bring back some sweet memories. I’m short, and felt 2ft tall besides her. I wasn’t allowed to try them on, unless there were 2 daughters holding me up, because I’m clumsy..but when they weren’t home..the power of feeling 10ft tall!!! Great shoes, great times.
