True duel exhaust is from both sides of the manifold down to the pipes not a single one J'S because mine has headers and that's the way to do it not a single pipe but two pipes to the one catalytic converter

True duals = 1 pipe coming off each header that at no point connect to one another, straight pipe = a piece of exhaust pipe with no cat, muffler, or resonators, pipe only

True duels is when they exhaust comes out of the exhaust manifold or header in two pipes and those pipes never connect for the front of the vehicle to the back of the vehicle

Just put a 350 and headers in my 86 caprice but can’t find ANY double hump crossmembers for the tranny to make the headers fit.. any recommendations??
That 305 takes off a lot fast than mine. My 83 dogs it. Any suggestions?
Having them run into a single cat defeats the purpose of having true duals it would just act like a dual in dual out muffler or x pipe

I don’t like 305s. Say whatever you want, they don’t last near as good as the 350 sbc.
At the very least go with a 350!
@Dennis Burger Different bore, different stroke & because of the increase bore size of the 350 it uses different heads.
@Dennis Burger Combustion chamber size due to the smaller bore is the difference in regards to the heads. You failed to mention crank stroke as a difference also.
@Dennis Burger You are correct. After thinking about it for a minute it all came back to me. It has been sometime since I have had a 305 in the shop. The smallest engines we deal with are 350’s.
Bore size is the only difference along with smaller combustion chambers & smaller intake/exhaust runners.
Too bad they couldn’t have done a cat delete with two glasspacks all the way back.
Beautiful job, great sound and great work by the shop. But that’s not true duals. I’d call it duals post manifold merge pipe.
