Been sayin this from Day1!! Tactical shouldve went to Ultramarines. Heavy shouldve been Fists or Salamanders. Assault is Blood Angels, Sniper is Raven Guard. Vanguard is White Scars or Wolves
@ ya but that’s after 3 perfect blocks you can still get pummeled but enemies till then and especially with the enemy’s with the whips they will just keep going even if you perfect block and you will take damage before you can get 3 perfect blocks
@@kristatum6688 The point of the matter is even the enemy you are perfect blocking doesnt get flinched or stunned in any way, and getting the third perfect block is a massive chore, they took the right path with fixing the block weapons, but got side tracked halfway down the path.
It would actively harm the main mechanic of building stacks because if you do have this knockback effect, you just charge one and everyone is staggered, no more stacks for you. Without it I can tank 2 warriors or some combo of major/extreme and kaboom them in return. Especially practical on tactical with parry scan (which also works with block now).
That's why Block Weapons are pretty good on Bulwark. I'm pretty sure perfect blocks trigger Intimidation Aura and the other Perk that incapacitates majoris or extremis after a perfect parry\block
@CentauriTT personally the pace that they are releasing content makes it pretty nice to switch games. I dont have to max out my characters immediately and I still have time to play darktide since I've been having a fun time. I dont mind how slow they're being especially when we got 2 ops in less then 2 months from eachother
Parry rework is painful. It hurts, Vang mostly, tactical somewhat. Blocking sounds like a hot mess. I rather shoot my primary than build up combo points. Good luck finding your parry windows. Bulwark seems oddly unaffected.
@@PaddleTales24 I've been avoiding the new patch on Bulwark because of the bug but I had to take this Champion armor pack out and test it out finally. At first I felt like everything was normal but then at times it seems I could not parry to save my life. Even when just surrounded by minoris Tyrannids which I usually can just parry my way to full armor as needed to 1 shot them individually I failed several in a row. What the hell did they do to parry?
Parry/block is a mess in this game. It agitates my mind. They need one parry window, period. Every weapon should have a parry and block option. Click for parry, hold for block. Done. Move on.
@@PaddleTales24 Sounds more like an excuse. The parry window changes are hard written in the files, they are no accident. There are several lines of code that have been altered for each fencing weapon individually, all in the same manner. So stop calling those timing changes a bug. Yes there are some bugs with keybindings or that sometimes enemies don't react to players' parries AT ALL. Those are seperate things from the actual changes that happened. Please don't confuse them. BUT In the patch 4.0 announcement it was written that fencing weapons would loose their extended parry window, which wasn't in any of the 4.X patches. Patch 5.0 only delivers what was announced back then, I assume this is the reason no further mention was made in the current patch notes.
I found that the parry changes actually benefit the vangaurd the most since i have the duelist perk 50% increase to perfect parry window, which allows me to use the balance knife as basically a fencing weapon but with more damage, speed, and larger aoe effect on parry.
Seeing a lot of comments about parry feeling off, but the current state is not intentional. The devs responded in the discord that it's a bug and they're working to fix it. not a lot of detail on what the fix looks like, but here's what they said: "On another note, we're aware of the control rebind issues and bugs with parry. We're working on it. Once again, sorry for the inconvenience." It would be nice if the discord wasn't the only place to see this. Makes it feel weird while we play the game
I hope so too. I saw them mention knowledge of a parry glitch, so I'm hoping once that is fixed my beautiful fencing weapons will be parrying gods again
Tried out the patch earlier, fencing weapons parry seems to be off. Don't know if it's a bug or how they reworked it but damn i seem to be getting my timing completely wrong now.
The ammo restore perk for the tactical is bugged too. The one that refills the magazine after an execution with 30 sec cool down. That worked a couple times then not at all. With that perk you shouldn't ever run out of ammo with the plasma, I did last night.
The fencing is noticeably different. I used to be able to parry without thinking too much about it and it became a habit. It’s been bit of a pain in the ass to unlearn the habit and get the timing down again.
Immuniteit while staggered sounds like an amazing addition. I kept getting into situations where enemy heavy attacks came at me faster than my character would recover. So I would just be stuck unable to do anything all the while these heavy attacks kept pounding away at my health. Really hope I'll have the time to try out this patch soon.
I hope they add the Ultramarine Sergeant heraldry to the left Pauldron soon. Gadriel already has it (and they have it for the knee) so I’m hoping it’s an easy fix.
I had an insane experience where I got downed from FULL health to a regular warrior while parrying! I was in disbelief the window to get the shot off after parry is kind of glitched id say. Assault it seems is now the strongest class ever

Just let us use the armory data pieces as xp IE: gold = 3k // purple = 2k // green = 1k This will also incentivize finding those items once all your weapons are unlocked.
@ I’m not sure I agree with this part. Should need to run at least a handful of Ruthless to get the ability to unlock the tier. After that you can dump any rarity into xp for the weapon to master is.
It's not even the gunstrikes frl it's just you cant get Armour back on a block, it doesn't stop the warriors from spamming attacks on you so you have to parry even more which feels like shit
I made a pure blocking build on assault. I tried to stack everything to help the fact you can’t parry and I can confirm blocking weapons are still outshined by fencing or balanced.

If u could use that new perfect block explosion system in conjunction with a push block system i then think the weapon class would be on the same level as fencing weapons
@@m2moses906the thing is blocking weapons should be all about being aggressive and doing tons of melee damage. Having to wait and bait attacks to build up stacks is not engaging and you might as well use balanced tbh.
@ then I would suggest having the stacks persist until they are used, don’t get me wrong I think there should be a push lock no matter what I just think the explosion effect on push lock when you have stacks would be the thing that tips block weapons into being used as often as fencing
Just curious, but does anyone else's mouse freeze up now? The buttons still work, shooting aiming and what not. But the look gets disabled. Mid game I've had to unplug and replug my mouse to be able to look around again. Just wondering if any one has had this problem after the patch
Playing with fencing weapons was not broken, it felt good and natural, we had all learned the timing and I personally don't think it was overpowered. Now it feels absolutely disgusting. Why if they wanted to nerf it couldn't it just have been a very small truncation of the window, so many changes at once to a system that relies entirely on muscle memory is a recipe for disaster. Also the new op is D tier.
For those of you curious, this is how block I feel for this update for lethal difficulties. 1. Too less chance to perform 3 times in a row, in most of the situation the 3rd attack by your main target will perform a red circle attack(can't be block), sometimes the Thousand Sons will perform a red circle attack right after the first move, you still need to dodge, you stop stacking. 2. Continue the 1. after your dodge, you need to keep attack to gain the chance to recover health and amour, so swing your weapon after dodge to use these benefit to keep you in the fight, it's a must do, this mean you stop blocking. Just from my point of view, I think the reward of 1 stack feels like nothing dying around me, 2 stacks feel like no Elite goes red blinking, consider 1~2 stack range is most of the player may use in almost 90% of the time in the game. They should be more feelable. And the 3rd stack reward should be even greater, because it give up too many benefit like: Finishing action(No damage time frame), Health recover, Armor restore, Gun strike... so why it can't be a gorgeous animated big bomb like affect? because it won't have many chance to happen, but once it does, why not let it be like "Oh yeah! that's what I am talking about" kind of feeling, isn't that great ? And the last things. The game design team said this is a "Power fantasy", but if it make people feel like they need to play it like the "Dark Soul" kind of style... then where is the "Power fantasy" going? so, make the blocking weapon reward be like "Power fantasy".
I'd love to see you do an in depth speculation video on the hidden research centre that's been added in the heraldry section. There are a bunch of left pauldron emblems that have been added that show as locked initially, but when you highlight them it says hold to view in research centre (usually it says view in heraldry) A lot of people are saying it's something to do with the upcoming horde mode, it seems to require a new currency too...
I feel like block weapons should be like balance weapons but without the gunstrike, when you use a fencing or balance weapon you get instantly rewarded for parring while for blocking you have to block multiple attacks to get the buff
I know tactical has to use fencing (class perk, auspec debuff is too good) for parries, but the window is wonky. So it really depends on your class. I hear some assaults are switching to a blocking playstyle. Even further still, Saber wants to update weapon perks to concord with recent changes. Defe read patch notes before playing a couple missions. Bear in mind peeps are taking more dmg than usual.

@@zachnorton1007 Just to check, My friend still has both skins there but he said that the DA skin is Auto Bolt Rifle and Macragge skin is Bolt Rifle. Are you sure you checked the right weapon? It can be easy to confuse since tactical does have a billion bolters with small differences.
Tried block with assault, vang, and bulwark. i only really see use with the hammer, getting lots of one shots, combined with the dodge gameplay. it will be my main assault playstyle most likely.
Oculus bolt carbine was my least favorite weapon with the vanguard obviously until I actually tried it and got it to relic tier, with the total bottom line of the perk tree filled you get a 20% increase in damage to chaos! And those chaos bastards deserve it! Not only that but when you take into account the 50% buff when you're within 30 meters You're doing a massive 170% damage when you're up close! So grapple one of those bastards get in their face and blast them to Oblivion! Praise the Omnisiah! For the imperium! 11:39
Block loses the ability to make space by parrying, so it suffers even more from not being able to dodge out of melee attacks than the fencing and balanced weapons. It now gains in offensive potential against groups, which is good, but it loses even more on the defensive side of things with being easily surrounded and no answer to dodge only attacks. Block will always suffer drastically as a weapon choice because of this.
Melee is in a much better spot but blocking minoris needs to be able to restore armor like parrying does. Other than that, its now a REALLY spicy option that I've fallen in love with.
Getting 3 perfect blocks is a chore and not very viable without breaking the game flow and forcing you to Stand and wait for enemies to attack. The 3 stack big boom didn’t really solve anything. There should be a melee version of gun strikes and they should move the concept of fencing, balanced and blocking to the weapon perk trees.
I did not notice a big change on my assault fencing hammer, minus a smaller window for perfect parries. On my tactical, i have missed a ton of parries i usually would have with my fencing chainsword. It seems very unpredictable. Regretting not finishing out lethal on last patch 😢
Brother, never feel weird for buying things (toys) that make you happy. I'm turning 41 in a few days :p . I'm an after school teacher so I can justify sharing my hobbies with kids to teach them critical thinking and creativity.
Block rework is like 70% there. Attacking spending the charge makes no sense for that AOE and armor. Im not just gonna stand around and wait for the next attack, or try to spam parry / block, the chaff enemies will take out any armor you build up.
Played around with blocking for a bit and it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to change the fencing meta. At ruthless/lethal the range damage you consistently take piles up real quick and melee builds need quick parries to refill armor segments. The blocking melee buff lasts for a second at most till it’s gone so that big melee aoe damage/armor segments recovery is very situational at best. Meanwhile you are getting smacked with range damage. On substantial and below the melee buff is honestly really fun with the chain sword and knife. I think it’s a good effort on the devs end to try to add this to melee gameplay but the reality is that ruthless/lethal games depend on quick parries/gun strikes to survive. I can’t sit in a mosh pit waiting to hopefully build 3 melee buffs just to get 1 armor segment back. At that point I’m already loosing valuable health. The dev team seems smart though so I assume they will make adjustments at some point P.S. The fencing “nerf” is not even noticeable so anyone stressing over that don’t worry.
I’ve just gotten and used block on lethal and it’s actually viable on the vanguard now and sniper using the balance knife is better too but with tactical assault and bulwark I still think fencing is better but all around balance and block actually are useable now people that disagree are either bad or are saber haters I hated the first lethal mechanic where you had to be tethered to your teammates and they removed it but this mechanic is absolutely amazing so I hope it stays
Maybe I just suck but it feels very difficult to get the 3 stack block buff. I think the best solution is to just bring it down to two blocks. They also need to fix parry. If parry was working like it used to, every parry is relatively easy to hit and returns an armor. Right now the block AOE happens like once an operation. I mostly stunlock & execute to return armor. Any time I go for the block AOE I miss a block or the stack timer runs out. It's still not on par with the working version of parry. But god damn does your melee do a lot of damage.
Whatever they did to the jump pack fucked it up pretty bad. About a third of the time i try to jump pack, while im attacking, which i do pretty often, instead i get the dash, and i never had that problem before, and there is almost no situation where i want to do the pack dash. I cant tell whats making it happen in the first place, so i cant really remedy it.
I noticed playing Ruthless twice on the new update with Bulwark relic tier fencing sword that it is painfully awful. Taking me 8-12 hacks to kill a terminus warrior... Take using the block style sledgehammer in assault not even relic tier and I can smash warriors in 2-3 hits or less. I wonder if I have to use balance or blocking now just a pain to over hack even small enemies!
Truly I think powersword should slice small enemies in half everytime and 2-3 hacks with a good shield blast or block on a warrior on relic tier. They could even make that a thing but you have to get like 50,000 kills with the weapon for that to work or something I would be completely fine with that and would make people grind more.
So they change/break all the parry timings and throw a new hyper mobile elite at us. My reaction was RIP fencing, HELLO balanced and goodbye chaos operations........ I am praying to the Emperor that they will fix this blatant heresy!!!

What a pain in the ass... This patch broke "Q"Button. Default it is ability and that works, but I have been playing for weeks with "Q" as my parry button. How the hell did the patch even break that? as soon as you bind parry/block to "Q" it stops working.
Since the patch, playing as vanguard, I can only reload, pick up items or getting ammo boxes if I'm ONLY running lol a silly bug but since figured it out I've adapted lol
Parry is a bug, devs have said so. Block weapons (knife hammer and chainsword) are decent. Not really usable in lethal imo. They do a ton of dmg. I had a 28k dmg ruthless game with the block knife on Inferno. I went down once though. Had a 32k game (solo) with block hammer on Decapitation. Not a great sample size though. The zoanthrope change is noticable and great. The krak granade not damaging extremis is super annoying. Sticking a Lictor/Ravenor/zoanthrope just to have them disappear and it do nothing sucks.
We played on patch day and it was buggy as hell. Each of us had to tab out once because the mouse became unresponsive, and it forgot all the keys I had rebound and even when remapping them, Q could not decide between mine (Interact) and standard (Ability) and every time I wanted to loot ammo from a crate or open a thing my Assault did a funny little hop on the spot. I have not seen a hotfix drop or any of this addressed and will refrain from playing until fixed.
The GL is better cause it does damage where the other weapons don’t hit as hard enough and the “4x dmg” the GL has idk man if that was the case it would just delete everything which yes it does good dmg but I don’t think it’s that bugged some testing would need to be done
They also basically stop the ability to perma stun lock the hive tyrant with the combat knife Shadow stab! Gosh darn it! At least I killed that Hive bastard many times before they put an end my fun LOL
Having just tried out the block update I can safely say it SUCKS. The devs seem to forget that the nids loooooooooove to spam the unbloackable attacksand make the whole idea worthless.
The fact that block weapons cannot block attacks from Minoris level enemies to charge the ability is a deal-breaker for me. Such BS is that a blocking-specialized weapon cannot block attacks from the weakest enemies. If they made it so that the blocking weapon could instantly kill the attacking minoris AND get 1 charge, it would be OK. Also, it's so dumb that when you are overwhelmed by attacking majoris, blocking one means you take damage from the others more often than not. The changes are a good start, but still need polish. Also, they didn't need to nerf the knockback range of the fencing weapon parry. Just buffing the balanced ones would've been OK.
Sabre is lazy af man. They don't even play test their game because pc players mouses stop working in the middle of their op. Ffs that's unacceptable. Then they continue to nerf weapons and buff others instead of buffing the other weapons to make them viable. This game has potential but sabre is just awful. Ffs. Back to darktide.
I tried out the blocking chainsword on tactical with the new system and to be honest i wasnt a fan, and found my gameplay really suffered for it. The parry and gunstrike mechanic is just too good, and im too used to it.
Meh, it’s not very good. Damage buff across the board for melee feels not that great. It’s so minor. I actually wonder what it actually is. Probably 10%. The best way to play is still party gun strike which is what they wanted to steer away from, for more play options. Yikes. Also the blokes weapons to be good or these changes to have effect the whole melee system needs a rework. They think bolt weapon are in a good place ? Again, big oof. The cosmetics are also really lamer I mean, I’m paying for a dark angel pack and it’s like 5 weapons skins, a chest piece and a left shoulder pad yaaay. All the good stuff is on the champion pack. Love this game to bits but actual needed cosmetics and balance updates are waaaaaay too slow.
I basically agree with everything you said. And yes you guessed the 10 percent increase correct. Altough block weapons had a 20 increase. Personally I find melee combat unstatisfying anway, except for parry and gun strike, that actually feels good. But hacking away at minoris enemies with a power sword or something always feel kinda awkward imo.
tried the mechanic for block weapons... timing is really iffy. Blocking and getting damaged is the reality. still sucks, imo. tried this in 3 gameplays. Fencing is now broken especialliy when getting attacks on all sides.
is it just me or did they change parrying in pve? i can't do it when standing still. i have to be in action. at least run or commence an attack. even if it's just the first frame.

Just let us use the armory data pieces as xp
IE: gold = 3k // purple = 2k // green = 1k
This will also incentivize finding those items once all your weapons are unlocked.
Also allow us to combine them to get higher rarity
@ I’m not sure I agree with this part. Should need to run at least a handful of Ruthless to get the ability to unlock the tier. After that you can dump any rarity into xp for the weapon to master is.

I dont care how good they make block weapons, im not giving up gunstrikes.
It's not even the gunstrikes frl it's just you cant get Armour back on a block, it doesn't stop the warriors from spamming attacks on you so you have to parry even more which feels like shit
I made a pure blocking build on assault. I tried to stack everything to help the fact you can’t parry and I can confirm blocking weapons are still outshined by fencing or balanced.
@@XXxRaptorjesusxI feel like they gave something good offensively to block weapons but nothing good defensively, block weapons need like a push block or something if they aren’t going to have a parry. If u could use that new perfect block explosion system in conjunction with a push block system i then think the weapon class would be on the same level as fencing weapons
@@m2moses906the thing is blocking weapons should be all about being aggressive and doing tons of melee damage. Having to wait and bait attacks to build up stacks is not engaging and you might as well use balanced tbh.
@ then I would suggest having the stacks persist until they are used, don’t get me wrong I think there should be a push lock no matter what I just think the explosion effect on push lock when you have stacks would be the thing that tips block weapons into being used as often as fencing
Just curious, but does anyone else's mouse freeze up now? The buttons still work, shooting aiming and what not. But the look gets disabled. Mid game I've had to unplug and replug my mouse to be able to look around again. Just wondering if any one has had this problem after the patch

Playing with fencing weapons was not broken, it felt good and natural, we had all learned the timing and I personally don't think it was overpowered.
Now it feels absolutely disgusting. Why if they wanted to nerf it couldn't it just have been a very small truncation of the window, so many changes at once to a system that relies entirely on muscle memory is a recipe for disaster.
Also the new op is D tier.
Block assault feels crazy
For those of you curious, this is how block I feel for this update for lethal difficulties.
1. Too less chance to perform 3 times in a row, in most of the situation the 3rd attack by your main target will perform a red circle attack(can't be block), sometimes the Thousand Sons will perform a red circle attack right after the first move, you still need to dodge, you stop stacking.
2. Continue the 1. after your dodge, you need to keep attack to gain the chance to recover health and amour, so swing your weapon after dodge to use these benefit to keep you in the fight, it's a must do, this mean you stop blocking.
Just from my point of view, I think the reward of 1 stack feels like nothing dying around me, 2 stacks feel like no Elite goes red blinking, consider 1~2 stack range is most of the player may use in almost 90% of the time in the game. They should be more feelable.
And the 3rd stack reward should be even greater, because it give up too many benefit like: Finishing action(No damage time frame), Health recover, Armor restore, Gun strike... so why it can't be a gorgeous animated big bomb like affect? because it won't have many chance to happen, but once it does, why not let it be like "Oh yeah! that's what I am talking about" kind of feeling, isn't that great ?
And the last things.
The game design team said this is a "Power fantasy", but if it make people feel like they need to play it like the "Dark Soul" kind of style... then where is the "Power fantasy" going? so, make the blocking weapon reward be like "Power fantasy".
I'd love to see you do an in depth speculation video on the hidden research centre that's been added in the heraldry section.
There are a bunch of left pauldron emblems that have been added that show as locked initially, but when you highlight them it says hold to view in research centre
(usually it says view in heraldry)

Never used the grenade variant of the bolt rifle and I don't intend to. You heavily convinced me of the importance of the accuracy stat on weapons
I feel like block weapons should be like balance weapons but without the gunstrike, when you use a fencing or balance weapon you get instantly rewarded for parring while for blocking you have to block multiple attacks to get the buff
So are fencing weapons useless now?
I know tactical has to use fencing (class perk, auspec debuff is too good) for parries, but the window is wonky.

Even further still, Saber wants to update weapon perks to concord with recent changes.
Defe read patch notes before playing a couple missions. Bear in mind peeps are taking more dmg than usual.

McCrage bolt rifle skin isn't there anymore. Instead of adding dark angels skin, it replaced it.

@@zachnorton1007 Majority of the players dont have the skin since it was part of the pre-purchase bundle and now you have to buy it seperate from the Ultramarine successor and champion bundle.
@@zachnorton1007 Just to check, My friend still has both skins there but he said that the DA skin is Auto Bolt Rifle and Macragge skin is Bolt Rifle. Are you sure you checked the right weapon? It can be easy to confuse since tactical does have a billion bolters with small differences.

Tried block with assault, vang, and bulwark. i only really see use with the hammer, getting lots of one shots, combined with the dodge gameplay. it will be my main assault playstyle most likely.

Oculus bolt carbine was my least favorite weapon with the vanguard obviously until I actually tried it and got it to relic tier, with the total bottom line of the perk tree filled you get a 20% increase in damage to chaos! And those chaos bastards deserve it! Not only that but when you take into account the 50% buff when you're within 30 meters You're doing a massive 170% damage when you're up close! So grapple one of those bastards get in their face and blast them to Oblivion! Praise the Omnisiah! For the imperium! 11:39
Block loses the ability to make space by parrying, so it suffers even more from not being able to dodge out of melee attacks than the fencing and balanced weapons. It now gains in offensive potential against groups, which is good, but it loses even more on the defensive side of things with being easily surrounded and no answer to dodge only attacks. Block will always suffer drastically as a weapon choice because of this.
Wish the dlc gave hood and robe to the tactical and devastator too, Dark Angels look cooles with robes
Melee is in a much better spot but blocking minoris needs to be able to restore armor like parrying does. Other than that, its now a REALLY spicy option that I've fallen in love with.
I'm not getting any armor for parrying minoris now.
Getting 3 perfect blocks is a chore and not very viable without breaking the game flow and forcing you to Stand and wait for enemies to attack.
The 3 stack big boom didn’t really solve anything.
There should be a melee version of gun strikes and they should move the concept of fencing, balanced and blocking to the weapon perk trees.
I experienced a buff when switching control types where it doesn’t work
The shield of the heavy is bugged for me other classes have no problem.
I did not notice a big change on my assault fencing hammer, minus a smaller window for perfect parries. On my tactical, i have missed a ton of parries i usually would have with my fencing chainsword. It seems very unpredictable.

Brother, never feel weird for buying things (toys) that make you happy. I'm turning 41 in a few days :p . I'm an after school teacher so I can justify sharing my hobbies with kids to teach them critical thinking and creativity.
Block rework is like 70% there. Attacking spending the charge makes no sense for that AOE and armor. Im not just gonna stand around and wait for the next attack, or try to spam parry / block, the chaff enemies will take out any armor you build up.
Played around with blocking for a bit and it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to change the fencing meta. At ruthless/lethal the range damage you consistently take piles up real quick and melee builds need quick parries to refill armor segments. The blocking melee buff lasts for a second at most till it’s gone so that big melee aoe damage/armor segments recovery is very situational at best. Meanwhile you are getting smacked with range damage. On substantial and below the melee buff is honestly really fun with the chain sword and knife. I think it’s a good effort on the devs end to try to add this to melee gameplay but the reality is that ruthless/lethal games depend on quick parries/gun strikes to survive. I can’t sit in a mosh pit waiting to hopefully build 3 melee buffs just to get 1 armor segment back. At that point I’m already loosing valuable health. The dev team seems smart though so I assume they will make adjustments at some point
P.S. The fencing “nerf” is not even noticeable so anyone stressing over that don’t worry.

I’ve just gotten and used block on lethal and it’s actually viable on the vanguard now and sniper using the balance knife is better too but with tactical assault and bulwark I still think fencing is better but all around balance and block actually are useable now people that disagree are either bad or are saber haters I hated the first lethal mechanic where you had to be tethered to your teammates and they removed it but this mechanic is absolutely amazing so I hope it stays

Maybe I just suck but it feels very difficult to get the 3 stack block buff. I think the best solution is to just bring it down to two blocks. They also need to fix parry. If parry was working like it used to, every parry is relatively easy to hit and returns an armor. Right now the block AOE happens like once an operation. I mostly stunlock & execute to return armor. Any time I go for the block AOE I miss a block or the stack timer runs out. It's still not on par with the working version of parry. But god damn does your melee do a lot of damage.

Whatever they did to the jump pack fucked it up pretty bad. About a third of the time i try to jump pack, while im attacking, which i do pretty often, instead i get the dash, and i never had that problem before, and there is almost no situation where i want to do the pack dash. I cant tell whats making it happen in the first place, so i cant really remedy it.

As far as the grenade launch is concerned maybe they set up a system where you get a set amount of grenades per section of the map like maybe 12/14

I noticed playing Ruthless twice on the new update with Bulwark relic tier fencing sword that it is painfully awful. Taking me 8-12 hacks to kill a terminus warrior... Take using the block style sledgehammer in assault not even relic tier and I can smash warriors in 2-3 hits or less. I wonder if I have to use balance or blocking now just a pain to over hack even small enemies!
Truly I think powersword should slice small enemies in half everytime and 2-3 hacks with a good shield blast or block on a warrior on relic tier. They could even make that a thing but you have to get like 50,000 kills with the weapon for that to work or something I would be completely fine with that and would make people grind more.

What a pain in the ass... This patch broke "Q"Button. Default it is ability and that works, but I have been playing for weeks with "Q" as my parry button.
How the hell did the patch even break that? as soon as you bind parry/block to "Q" it stops working.

Since the patch, playing as vanguard, I can only reload, pick up items or getting ammo boxes if I'm ONLY running lol a silly bug but since figured it out I've adapted lol
Parry is a bug, devs have said so. Block weapons (knife hammer and chainsword) are decent. Not really usable in lethal imo. They do a ton of dmg. I had a 28k dmg ruthless game with the block knife on Inferno. I went down once though. Had a 32k game (solo) with block hammer on Decapitation. Not a great sample size though.
The zoanthrope change is noticable and great. The krak granade not damaging extremis is super annoying. Sticking a Lictor/Ravenor/zoanthrope just to have them disappear and it do nothing sucks.
We played on patch day and it was buggy as hell. Each of us had to tab out once because the mouse became unresponsive, and it forgot all the keys I had rebound and even when remapping them, Q could not decide between mine (Interact) and standard (Ability) and every time I wanted to loot ammo from a crate or open a thing my Assault did a funny little hop on the spot.
I have not seen a hotfix drop or any of this addressed and will refrain from playing until fixed.
The GL is better cause it does damage where the other weapons don’t hit as hard enough and the “4x dmg” the GL has idk man if that was the case it would just delete everything which yes it does good dmg but I don’t think it’s that bugged some testing would need to be done
They also basically stop the ability to perma stun lock the hive tyrant with the combat knife Shadow stab! Gosh darn it! At least I killed that Hive bastard many times before they put an end my fun LOL

Having just tried out the block update I can safely say it SUCKS. The devs seem to forget that the nids loooooooooove to spam the unbloackable attacksand make the whole idea worthless.
The fact that block weapons cannot block attacks from Minoris level enemies to charge the ability is a deal-breaker for me. Such BS is that a blocking-specialized weapon cannot block attacks from the weakest enemies. If they made it so that the blocking weapon could instantly kill the attacking minoris AND get 1 charge, it would be OK.
Also, it's so dumb that when you are overwhelmed by attacking majoris, blocking one means you take damage from the others more often than not. The changes are a good start, but still need polish.
Also, they didn't need to nerf the knockback range of the fencing weapon parry. Just buffing the balanced ones would've been OK.

I tried out the blocking chainsword on tactical with the new system and to be honest i wasnt a fan, and found my gameplay really suffered for it. The parry and gunstrike mechanic is just too good, and im too used to it.

At risk of sounding dumb, how do you block without a shield? You can use blocking weapons on any class, but only the Bulwark can block?
your block is the parry. so instead of getting a perfect parry, you just get a block if you time it right.

Meh, it’s not very good. Damage buff across the board for melee feels not that great. It’s so minor. I actually wonder what it actually is. Probably 10%. The best way to play is still party gun strike which is what they wanted to steer away from, for more play options. Yikes. Also the blokes weapons to be good or these changes to have effect the whole melee system needs a rework. They think bolt weapon are in a good place ? Again, big oof. The cosmetics are also really lamer I mean, I’m paying for a dark angel pack and it’s like 5 weapons skins, a chest piece and a left shoulder pad yaaay. All the good stuff is on the champion pack. Love this game to bits but actual needed cosmetics and balance updates are waaaaaay too slow.
I basically agree with everything you said. And yes you guessed the 10 percent increase correct. Altough block weapons had a 20 increase. Personally I find melee combat unstatisfying anway, except for parry and gun strike, that actually feels good. But hacking away at minoris enemies with a power sword or something always feel kinda awkward imo.
Yeah, I hate the champion skins. I’d rather have the ability to customize all of that.

tried the mechanic for block weapons... timing is really iffy. Blocking and getting damaged is the reality. still sucks, imo. tried this in 3 gameplays. Fencing is now broken especialliy when getting attacks on all sides.
Most of it is good. Changes to parry suck a bit. Where you were once a god of war you are now just a bit of a champ. Sucks really
