I had a similar situation when I was in school, I was drawing these little monster animals called flaminals and my friend sort of caught on what I was doing and showed my teacher the animal drawings that I was doing and we ended up having a flanimals wall in class... Everyone loved him so much in class for 'coming up with the idea' the principle in assembly a few weeks later gave him a certificate for being creative and starting a new trend in the school.... Never got over it... 😂

I have no idea why, but I remember getting it mixed in my head trying to remember this sketch, and instead of Gabriel Iglesias, I thought it was Carlos Mencia. Don't know why I remembered it that way, but the irony of him telling others that it's not cool to take other peoples jokes wasn't lost on me
Maybe you mixed it up because Carlos Mencia was on South Park in the Fishsticks-episode where the plot was quite similar? Cartman stole the Fishstick-joke from a friend and Carlos Mencia stole it from Cartman...

Oh, I understand now. You don't realize that Peele is playing two different characters in this skit. You see, sometimes, an actor plays a character so perfectly (like Peele's Obama) that they have to continue playing them throughout the series. So, while it may confuse some people - like you, for instance - it is something that occurs quite often in the sketch comedy world.

We all know that feeling of coming up with something funny and having a friend repeat it in front of other people and getting the credit.
The awesome thing about this skit is that they're some truth to it, which is why it resonates with people who find it funny.
The look on peels face the entire time is what makes this a masterpiece.

That actually reminds me of my colleague back in middle school, When I gave him an answer for a question the teacher had asked, He got all the credit for it though he had no idea of what he said. That made me see a side of life in which I no longer share my hard work with anyone. That Guy is my best friend.

The hypotenuse is a math term to describe the longest side of a right triangle. And so the word hypotenuse sounds like high on pot.

Troy still wears his high school uniform because that's all he has left, and the only remaining treasure he has is a cheaply made T-Shirt that reminds his of his brief success. Upon receiving the superficial award, he is filled with gratitude, and hands his only possession to his old friend. He has nothing left.
