You should develop a personality quiz to sort people into which world/patron they would best align with. It would be a fun way to introduce people to the universe personally and build hype around the game by people breeding loyalty to their chosen faction.
Also a "magical girl" type character would be really cool, especially with a unique and dark twist
You could also develop a short graphic novel depicting the backstory of each character.
This is *such* a good idea. It's very pottermore. Would totally be worth setting up subscriber contests with entry fees (which go toward game development) for character backstory/world building short story contests. Could segue into some really cool animation contests and projects, too! Allowing viewers to vote on winners would allow hardcore fans to effect the story of the world you're building develop some investment in the world, characters and overall story that would pretty much guarantee this thing to take off when it's finally ready for launch. Some patreon dnd campaigns with homebrew game characters would be so much fun, too.

I need an animal-like character. Something small and feisty. Androgenous. Maybe not a typical earthly creature. Maybe something from the realm of stitch. More limbs but you could pet it.
Also an insect could be awesome. Really lean into the spook of it.

Ooooo yeah a bug-like character or some sort of animal character would be so cool! Having a character that deviates from humans but still looks like it would be on equal footing with humans would be pretty awesome. Even just, like, a talking dog would be alright for me lol

A fennec fox like creature with the massive ears ❤❤❤❤ power being, super hearing and super strong roar for such a small creature giving enemies the false idea that its not powerful ❤❤
I think a dude with scars sewn shut all over his body could be cool and if the sewn scars come undone his body is a reality portal/gate in itself - meaning he can send people or himself to alternate realms. could also make for a very interesting character as his abilities would transcend the way the game is played, making him sort of like a trump card.

Hey Jazza, I have been working on a board game myself for a couple years now as a side project, when I heard you say you were making a Igasped I was so excited! I cannot wait to see more of this porject, it gets me excited and motivated to work on my game as well!
Jazza, this honestly sounds so cool like the characters and plot are all really in depth and interesting and I think it would make a great game or show
Cause you already have a seraphim style character I feel like for the next character in that faction you could make them a cherubim, similar with the wings but has more human and animal features mixed in aswell it'd be really cool to see the different animals incorporated into the human head with all the wings for them
For the faction scrap belongs too it would be cool to see some sort of robot/mech dude kinda like a big gentle giant to counter how tiny scrap is
For the wizard sort of guy I feel like you could do a sort of male or female that's similar in appearance with the pointed ears and skin colour but maybe make them closer to looking like a Djinn but with a nimbus cloud as their lower body to kind of fit in with the Electric purple sort of theme for them
For the bone harvesters faction you could do like an orc, lizard person or some more animalistic tribal character
And to fit with the lion and girl duo it would be cool to have a sort of griffin/bird person that's maybe female
Could also do like a demon/Oni style character or maybe a Kitsune or tengu style character which would look really cool
I think it would be really cool to have a Gatecrasher that’s completely inhuman, kinda like Serathiel but more of a beast or animal. I’m talking quadrupedal (maybe more legs?), armless, primordial, but fully sentient. Perhaps a prey animal wandered into a gate and became a servant of Corpus, and fueled by his desire to survive and outlive his predators, he adapted and became a predator himself. I do think an animals drive for survival would make it a really interesting servant of Corpus, and perhaps it gained the intelligence to survive in a way it couldn’t before. Right off the bat, I think some play on a deer could be cool, particularly a beast with antler-like tusks.
I love games like this with so much storyline and character background where it feels like it could turn into a whole rpg rather than just a board game.

Oh I think a really cool design could be a character from a postapocalyptic world that has healed (e.i. Adventure Time) and now the world and its characters are in pretty much a renaissance era with High Fantasy elements. The character could be a type of Mutant Like Dragon (or something) Character using old scraps of things to make new fantasy weapons (Maybe Like a stop sign repurposed into a shield with a lot of decoration to show the repesct for the ancient people of the past). And the character's story line could be a play off of classic fairy tale.
Also SO Genuinely exicted to see a project like this! Been subbed since I was little and am glad I got to grow up with you as an artist role model!!!!

Yup, clearly a Sanderson fan :D The whold gods story reminds me of the Shattering of Adonalsium and how the others got the fragmented power, and gatecrashers are basically the WorldHoppers from planet to planet. I'm on board, can;t wait to see it all take shape
You should send your game to other board game and rpg channels on yt, like no rolls barred. It can help with advertising and Kickstarter.
Jazza I am being following you almost since your humble beginnings, it's been a really hard effort, I saw the creation of the second studio, and the launch of the crowdfunding for it, and all ican say is that your whole community is really proud of you and no matter the circunstances, WE WILL ALWAYS FOLLOW AND SUPPORT YOU AND ALL YOUR TEAM!
I absolutely love this idea and project! Board games, especially board game creation have always been a love of mine, and being able to see how games like this are created, with the combination shown in your game with the art, game mechanics, lore, and the universe overall, is just so awesome to watch and see come to life. I can't wait to see where you take this and I wish you the best of luck!!

Just wanted to pop in and let you know how big the grins were on our kids faces watching this video! Their eyes kept getting bigger and bigger and we are so excited to see how this grows.
It's really awesome to see you excited about this world building, and it was inspiring as well for our teen artist who loves D&D and world building but is sometimes unsure about where this will take her in life. To see the spark and the delight on both sides watching this video was delightful 💞

Character idea:
This character lives on a world where the society is split in-two. One part of this society revolves around a cluster of highly powerful gatecrashers (dozens to thousands depending on how rare they are), and their loyal subjects/worshippers. The gatecrashers are a tiny minority that are viewed almost as royalty, except by the second half of this society; the citizens, or peasants. These citizens lack almost all luxuries in their lives, only scrounging the bare necessities. It is a tyrannical society, one where citizens are encouraged to become loyal to the gatecrashers, to be given more so that they can live less destitute lives, or refuse and remain redundant, powerless, and "useless".
This character lived in the second half of that society. They lived a life of suffering and resentment, one where they tried their best to provide what they could for the people they loved... Only to fail, and watch, powerlessly, as those loved ones were lost. In a fit of grief and vengeance, an oath was sworn into the cold night air, "Let me be their ruin"; an oath that was heard by one of these gods. Suddenly, this character is given the literal god-given right to stand among those whom oppress, as a secret enemy. They infiltrate, and in doing so, discover what it is like to live as a gatecrasher - worshipped by all but their own people. They also discover secrets. Why do these gatecrashers require worshippers?- what could be the purpose for the god that bestowed them these powers... And perhaps why this 'different' god decided to give this character powers to rival them. What else will they learn (or have learned), as they tear(ed) down this empire.
(I was thinking this gatecrasher cluster could also be involved with the destruction of Scrap's world)

For the angel character, you could print it in clear, with lots of facets, and add multicolored LEDs in the base to shine upward through the piece The rings could be a second piece that hngs in the center.
An idea for a character that might be relatable to a lot of people that play video games. The character is maybe immobalised and moves around in some kind of a wheelchair. Attached to the wheelchair are various weapons. The character moves around and controls the weapons using a VR headset and some kind of controller. This character would have the story that they dont have the physical strength of others but they have the smarts and skills required to allow them to be a hero
Character concept for you Jazza!
I think the devout knight / paladin Archetype is a must have. I think you could implement it well with the world you've created.
If you lean heavily into the "Momento Mori" / Medieval Gothic aspect of Catholicism, you could hit a great aesthetic for a Devout Paladin of Omega type character.
Naratively, the character could be an Immortal champion from a planet that has long past its death. Once it was a populous world, and through one event or another back in its prime he attained immortality (as spectacular a feat as that would be in the real world). He was a herculean champion, a demigod, and enjoyed fame and fortune for centuries. Then eventually, and inevitably, his world fell into decay. It drifted from its sun. All the inhabitants died. Barely any life remains. He is stuck on the planet, a Bronze age hero with no means of space travel or anything, left to wander hopelessly in despair - until he is greeted by an Avatar of Omega, who enhances his abilities and ordains him as his champion, a destroyer of worlds, with the promise that if he succeeds his oath, he will be granted death.
Aesthetically, he could be any type of creature you wanted. Having puldrons and a closed visor helmet would fit the aesthetic. With four arms, he could hold an incense thurible with two and a sythe like weapon with the others !
Just got a 3D printer and this will be awesome to print the characters and play the game when it releases.
Definitely following the Kickstarter. I haven't been able to afford your previous products but maybe by this time of launch I can save up.
I would suggest a sidekick character of some kind that's small like a mouse or snake You have this beastlike character we need a character that can fit into small crevices or slither thier way through undesirable terrain. Doubt this will be seen but just a suggestion. That or a shape shifter of some kind who could use these elements and have 2-3 versions of those to print.
This is exciting! So much work done already.
CHARACTER IDEAS:
A comedic-fighter character like Michelangelo or Deadpool. I’m picturing him as a fluid-flexible blob type like Mr. Fantastic but with more weight.
A princess that summons strength and ability from the queens & princesses in her bloodline & heir before her.
A librarian who uses word spells to harm their enemies. All of their attacks are poetic, and visually they have sepia robes & satchels over a paper-white skin tone.
A rogue machinist. Someone stealthy that never gets involved in the fight & rather relies on machines such as droids or drones.
Why do you assume the algorithm won't like it? This is the most fresh Jazza video I have seen in years, and I feel refreshed, not tired
The story for these characters and this game are absolutely incredible to me. I personally think this game/story line should totally become an anime down the line, I t would be so cool and I would totally binge watch it.
The winged rings (Sarathiel?) at 18:25 reminds me a lot of the creatures in Duel Masters' light civilisation. Give it some yellow and it'd be right at home. XD
I can definitely see this game being expanded into the future into a longer ttrpg kind of game with various campaign books while still being a simple board game for quicker play. I'm excited for this.

I'm so glad the first character had a satisfying revision process. He feels way more like is own individual now than the very first design (I thought of Doctor Strange too). Watching to see where this goes, rooting for you Jazza!

I can already imagine a league esque moba game with these characters.
You have a couple of "cosmic" and "ethereal" type characters so far. You need at least one (if not more) plant-based character. One that features brute strength (perhaps carnivorous), and another with poison abilities like venom or acid attack. Maybe even add a sentient fungi character that can spawn spores that can either disable, and kill opponents, or take them over and control their bodies against their will. Then, why not aquatic species like armored crustations or highly intelligent squid-like species that can camouflage, are immensely strong, and can fit into extremely tight and strange-shaped openings and spaces. You might as well create insectoid and reptilian characters. Avain races with flight attacks would be cool too. Pull from nature in designing their abilities and their looks.
I'd also add a purely ethereal character that doesn't have a fully solid form, but rather a vaporous or purely energy form that can shapeshift and use mind control. The possibilities are endless.
You should have a version of your Balrog as a character, it was such a good concept!
From drawing super heros to designing an entire board game, it's always interesting to see what you can come up with.
For crash, if it had not been said that his emotions has been wiped away by his experiences. I would have suggested maybe a little animal (a fantastical one) or like a little sentient robot that follows him wherever he goes and can be a source of help at times.
This is so cool ! I definitely need a lore video just to understand the whole universe !
Options for each! (Animal themed)
Alpha: A queen bee who builds hives across the galaxy, and she has her worker bees attack for her. (Summoner, scales off physical attack)
Omega: A boa constrictor who can crush buildings with its body, who stuns and suffocates for their attack (Tank, scales off armor or health)
Drasi: A goldfish that flies and can breath out of water, if you touch it, take massive damage. With each kill the goldfish gains flying speed and new abilities. (Glass cannon, scales off attack speed)
Corpus: A fly, though extremely small can infect living beings to grow massive deformations, which can be fatal. (Mage, scales off ability power)
Epoch: I genuinely would recommend a lion, so makes sense you already got one for it!

I need this to be a pc game an open world RPG using similar mechanics to boulders gate following the concept of gate crashers
Would like to see an amorphous, incredibly small character that reminds people in passing of eerie, tiny things like beetle wings, spider legs, or rat’s eyes, but has an inner core that if touched, has explosive power - think big bang.
As a fan of MTG and Heroclix, I'm all for this :) and I can't wait to see how everything comes together.

I think a bulky armored character with a mask would be really cool, because I really like characters with simple or no face
I want to see a vampiress that is an abandoned one she could be banished and be pale black and red clothed and silver haired vicious bloody and powerful 😍 she would be my fave.

I love the story and can't wait until there are books, games, and animation. Hypatia has missions carefully chosen to ensure her victory, what happens when she tastes defeat for the first time? How do you kill a God? The Angel destroys or remakes uncompromising worlds, but what a problem because they are uncompromising?.
Lava based rock monster is what this game needs also something spider/insect based
Cecaelia type being, maybe? They can be powerful, associated with magic, and move in fascinating ways.
I have no idea if this would fit in with the general vibe of this game or not, but it would be cool to have a cute character in the mix. Like EXTREMELY (perhaps comedically) cute - but still very capable - just for some contrast with a lot of the other cool/intimidating characters.
Cross between Jafar and Ming the Merciless looks awesome :D
I feel like something Lovecraftian in nature will really capture the endless scope of the story, maybe an entity from a tethered realm with little life left but the ones that destroyed it. They can even follow the chaos God as its servants.
I'm thinking disproportionate humanoid figures that look like they have been warped by the chaos they fallow.

Idea for a character: I'd love to see a steampunk robot like character who is a technomancer. He would be a soul of an inventor trapped in a living metal armour of steel and brass. Let's call him Eisen. Once a great visioner and inventor, who succombed to the great plague that destroyed his world. To continue his reasearch he transfered his soul to a metal body. His main goal would be creation of a perfect world devoid of death and suffering which would allign with Alpha's agenda.
A robot with the power to manipulate music would be cool, it could be blasting some random song and manipulate the sound waves to make enemies fall asleep or move back..

What did you think about an octopus, as in the multiple arms, colors perhaps affinity with water or another element. Could even work with fire etc.
He/she/they could be changed by their understanding they have started with two little arms (so perhaps physically weak at first) and needed more to fight for their patron God.
Perhaps you can even do an amputated arm - with prosthetic because it might give 'visible' weakness and at the same time a handicap that can be used in a story...
You have to make a comic book out of this universe.😊

1) I would like to see Alicia's (sorry if I misspelled) take on an Arthropod champion blessed by Corpus. Adding some background: since its youth, this character knew it was unable to breed any children, thus being outcast from what it once knew as society. Hunted day and night by their cannibal equals, it became used to sleep deprivation and hallucination. After years on the run, Corpus appeared and forever changed its life. Now, this champion has what is called an infinity family. Still unable to breed, Corpus granted this champion with a unique parasite ability.
2) If possible, I would like to see Dave's take on an Elemental champion blessed by Alpha. Possible background: Alived for centuries in peace, tranquility, and happiness. Nature forever grew in its world. Resources were abundant. Until one day, Alpha kidnapped this being from its world and granted a blessing. Well, a curse from the Champion's perspective. Being an Elemental was once defined as pure creation and life, but now it sees itself as eternal destruction. Its mere existence and presence gradually weaken any life force around it.

A robotic character especially since AI and robotics is a rapidly growing field.
and maybe an elemental character (volcanic perhaps?) would be interesting to see. Someone already mentioned aquatic / water. Maybe it can be a collection of elemental characters that work together as they gate crash. Or an elemental that an embody any element.
The fact that you talked to Sanderson right before the Secret Project announcement is so funny to me

Id actually like to see some hybrid faction characters like a jokeresque arsonist who wants to watch worlds burn and views their actions as a catalyst for change.
As someone who has been playing D&D since I was 9 years old (NINE), and was present for game sessions from as far back as my conscious memory goes, I enjoy the digital platform idea. Because of physical disabilities in my life, my game sessions now happen on Tabletop Simulator, on the computer. I do understand that putting resources into both a tabletop AND digital platform spreads the teams, funds, etc. too thin. But I wanted to give honest feedback. Maybe a digital option could be reevaluated after the board game is firmly established after release.
The epic scale of this endeavor summons my hype!!!

One idea is a raven mutation with a lizard with a color palette of red,lime green,and it should be on the not as bulky and on the skinnier side and tall and the pose could be him jumping with the tail touching the ground/ pls take this into consideration I have been watching you since I was 10 and i subed and liked the vid🥹

I think for alpha a panther character would be really cool. A fish woman painter.
Imagine her riding a wave like she's surfing on her feet. She painting new creations into being with ever sliding step on the wave of creation she rides. And in her wake discarded creations are left.
