I think "the customer is always right" means that what the customer is saying you should to be respectful of and checking to see if they are right or wrong, not just outright saying that they're wrong and have an attitude. Anyone working with customers should be respectful and friendly.

Meaning even if the customer is loud, rude and 100% wrong you as the employee need to continue to be respectful and rectify the situation by refunding, offering credit to the store, etc even if it wasn't warranted or deserved so that the business maintains a good image to draw in customers.

LauraShanell for real I work in the food industry and u can be sure as hell that I’m clocking any coworkers of mine who talk sideways to ANY customer. Like girl it’s our job to be nice and get u ur stuff with a good attitude. No one cares how u feel or what day u had, put on a smile and be nice to YOUR customers. People who think it’s okay to talk to customers like that really need to wake the hell up

I work in customer service. If she didnt know how to do it after like a minute or so you thank the customer for their patience and try to figure it out. If you still can't after 3+ minutes you call a manager. That's such a basic problem they could've figured out pretty easily if that supervisor wanted to act right

I ordered curbside at Walmart-a NIGHTMARE. Never again.
They told me my order was ready but only half of it was. I ordered a tfal pot set as a gift along with other shit for me and these assholes tried to give a whole off brand Walmart potset like I wouldn’t notice talking bout “oh this is better and more expensive you’re getting a discount” I’m like 🤨🤨🤨 I ordered what I ordered for a REASON idk how them pots operate.
So after all this discussion they tell me they don’t have the set I wanted in the store-in FACT the Walmarts that had them were over 20 miles away 🥴. So I had to go out the way is hell to get something they said they had 😒. They even refused to give me an instant refund til I went off so they gave it to me in cash.
Fastforward lmao I ordered some shit curbside again and it says my “partial order” is ready I knew better smh.
Always just go in the damn store.

I work in Curbside NOT at Walmart but ik most stores operate the same way. The reason you got an “order ready” notification even though It was only partial is because it WAS ready. We don’t ALWAYS have everything you want. There are shortages it’s a pandemic. The reason you got something else is because we’re trained to give the customer the best “substitute” (sub) if there’s NOTHING to substitute it’s an out-of-stock (OOS) Why was it on the website to order? Because we don’t have workers checking stock every single day of the whole store just to update an online website. I WISH we had that but we don’t 🤷🏼♂️. Why didn’t you get an instant refund? Because WE CAN GET IN TROUBLE! For instant refunds. Refunds have to go through CORPORATE 9 times out of 10. I have customers berate me on a daily basis and it sounds like you’re part of the problem unfortunately 😕 again, I DO NOT work at Walmart but I know how most of these stores operate
@@CallMeCam08 i work at curbside walmart and “partial order is ready” is one or more of the items was out of stock. it is not hard to check the app and see ur substitutions and out of stock in the app lol they are definitely the problem. at walmart you dont even get charged for the order until it is dispensed to the person. so this person mustve had other items, and taking off the pot off the order is simple. and if it was dispensed, ANY place takes like 3-5 days for the money to get back on the account lol they are so entitled

And my mom usually ends up bitching someone out AND always calls corporate when a business’ employees are out of line.
I kinda feel bad for the lady that was trying to help her in the first place, because she was trained properly and it's they fault, the people who were supposed to train her did not do their job right and they did not teach her correctly and or everything they needed to be teaching her, which is why she had trouble in the first place, and the supervisor did not help anything at all, to be in the middle of all of that I feel bad for first lady because the supervisor made everything go left

I’ve been in customer service since I was 17 and when I was a manager it was taught to me when confronting an unhappy customer to always approach them CALMLY so that you can calm the customer down and defuse the situation and it always worked. Because Its so awkward to yell at someone that is calm because you then look like a crazy person so they usually chill out. Idk why she came in hot like that! I would be PISSED

As a former employee of Lowes here in my hometown... I want to apologize for that craziness. My store was amazing in customer service and teamwork. The fact that the girl took so long to get a team lead or manager says a lot- that manager probably flips out at everything. That is a poorly managed store, doesn’t really speak so much as to the poor employee trying to keep her cool. She just didn’t feel right getting that specific supervisor. As a seasoned customer service employee, it be like that sometimes. I absolutely LOVE Lowes and that can happen anywhere there is subpar managers.
SOME reasons why Nikki is my FAV youtuber. (1) the use of the name "Karen" in her title (2) her storytelling is SOOO entertaining; facial expressions, hand gestures, voice inflections, etc. (3) she tells it like it is (4) face on beat to the GOOODS (5) BOMB jewelry. can we talk about those earnings?! I feel like no one can admit when they make a mistake anymore. I don't know about other people but I fully understand people make mistakes because I do too. I certainly wouldn't be angry or make a big deal of it if you said "oops, it's not working because I entered something wrong. We'll get it fixed." I feel like it was less embarrassing for her to just tell the manager that the customer was being difficult or not providing the proper information. Once the manager decided to pull her attitude out, she certainly wasn't going to admit it was their mistake after. So unnecessary.

I work at Lowe’s and we don’t charge a card until the customer comes and picks it up. I’ve never had a customers card saying we need an approval code in our online order system but it has happened in a regular purchase when using a Lowe’s credit card, which is something we can get from the credit center. But the way that the supervisor talked to her was not right.
Let me say as an ex-retail worker (I worked at Ross).......WE "THE STORE" ARE SUPPOSE TO CALL TO GET THE AUTHORIZATION NUMBER FROM YOUR "FINANCIAL INSTITUTION" and go from there.......Karen just didn't wanna admit HER/HER EMPLOYEE'S FAULT in this situation.......🤦🏿♀️💁🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️.....some ppl just don't need to work in retail PERIOD
She has so much calm for that situation. I could never handle that so well, I would be immediately trying to get a hold off someone higher up and get that karen some sort of reprimand for her behaviour. Smh

This is why where I work we provide a barcode when doing online pickups that the associate can scan with a Bluebird and then we just glance at your ID to confirm your name and then we go to an organized wall/bin area where your order is in plastic bags and ready to go.

Being a customer service (essential) worker is extremely difficult now. Anxieties are high on both ends and store workers are overwhelmed by too many online orders, not enough staff, strict store policies, and dealing with panicked customers. Believe me I know this bc I’m a grocery worker on top of being a full time student. I’ve had several full blown breakdowns at work (not in front of customers ofc) since this all started. With that said, this lowes lady definitely lost her cool. Her rudeness was totally uncalled for. Everyone just needs to have a little more understanding and KINDNESS which is something obviously karen needs to work on lol. Love your stories as always Nikki❤️

I totally I felt that! I’ve definitely had my breakdowns in the walk in freezer but at the end of the day I provide the best customer service I can.
My dad told me one of his coworkers went to Walmart recently and chose curbside pickup and ended up waiting outside the store for TWO HOURS because no one had started making her order before she got there.... ALSO: I want to add that they were probably giving you a heard time for no reason... if they obviously got your order ready then they probably could see it was already paid for...
Jazmine Lopez I've been using Walmart grocery pickup for over a year because I have twin toddlers that I rather not deal with inside a store lol And its always been a good experience! But I haven't been able to place an order since this all started because I'm assuming they have way too many orders coming in, so that was maybe part of the problem. Or maybe that walmart just sucks lol Before covid, walmart grocery pickup was my best friend 😔 lol Now I gotta go into stores 😭

Y'all.... when that unprofessional supervisor started talking to mama glamour all types of crazy... I held my breath and said "aaaaahhhhh shit.. here we go"
as a person who works at home depot I understand every side except the supervisor's. I would be frustrated too if I was waiting for over an hour for something. And if I was the customer service girl I would have went and got someone a lot sooner. But I also know that if you are not trained right you are out there in the open, vulnerable, and feel like you can't do what you need to, especially when the store is putting all this pressure on you with nobody around to ask for help. The supervisor, however, was all types of messed up. She needs to be fired immediately if she is lacking basic customer service skills but decided to work with CUSTOMERS all day. That just doesn't make sense. And this is why I work at home depot. Periodt.
Mama Glamour was not lying when she said they lacked training... Girl, I had a job once that expected the training videos we watched during orientation to be useful when you were on the floor. I was there for at least three weeks figuring things out on my own before a manager decided to play teacher 🙄

I don’t know if anyone else already answered your question, but I work in OGP (online grocery pick up) at Walmart, and the email or whatever that gets sent is misleading depending on what you purchased. Pretty much the email that gets sent is just letting the person know that we finished getting their items off the sales floor. Now, when you get there that’s when we start putting everything together. There’s so much that goes into making sure the order is ready and that everything is there before we bring it out to you. I hoped that helped a little.😊

The supervisor came off the wrong way, but I work there and the “curbside” is optional. We have have designated parking spots for that. It doesn’t notify us in our system if it’s going to be a curbside. It shows up as delivery or pick up. Also the card doesn’t get charged until customer picks up the order (it only places a hold on the card) and if it’s passed 10 days it erases the card from the order. The last four numbers of the card or an ID, yes.

Still they placed a hold on the funds, so it’s been approved. They place the hold to make sure you have enough money for the order. Her order should be given to her. Multiple people also said they know what Lowe’s she’s talking about and they have that issue constantly with “curbside pick up.” They need a new system or something. Target is very easy. You place the order as a curb side pick up, they hold the funds, they alert you when it’s ready, when you get their you go back in the app click that you arrived, put in what color and kind of car you’re in, they give you a barcode, when the employee comes out, they scan the code and give you the order. Recently they changed it to a “verification code.” So now the employee comes up and ask to verify your code and places your items in the car. If Lowe’s has all these issues with their curbside pick up then they should drop it or fix it.
Whew we chileee let’s talk about how calmly Nikki & mama glamour handled that situation!!! I would’ve ripped Karen from Lowe’s a new asshole. I worked in customer service over 15 years and I would’ve made that lady cry smh

The cashier reminds me a lot of myself.. I've been through that situation before where I've made mistakes. HOWEVER, If I've tried multiple times to fix my error but to no avail, I will get management ASAP. And YES! IF the front clerk looks clueless 9x's out of 10 it's because of a training issue.

That happened to my mama at target, they said the order was ready and they didn’t even get it ready or charge us for it, but said it wa was to be picked up. And we waited for almost an hour. So they gave us free Starbucks, we thought we would get 1 drink... girly we got 3 instead🤣💅🏼

Girl at my work, the customers are HORRIBLE!! They catch attitudes right off the bat, calling names, and being vulgar. I HATE working in customer service. Training goes down the line and obviously the supervisor is not fit for the job & was not trained correctly. You handled this situation so good tho!!😂

Erika Romo yeah That’s what Im guessing the employee needed You always have a confirmation code after you buy something online from a store like Lowes. I don’t think the employee knew what she was doing
All she needed was the confirmation or just the email and some ID depending on the store
Erika Romo the thing about Lowe’s is that for Lowe’s orders aren’t charged until the associates print out the paperwork. It just places a hold on the card and we sometimes need the card to process it again. So the order isn’t paid for at the moment a customer places the order.

Girl! About a week ago myself I went to order curbside pickup at Lowe’s (don’t typically go there as well) took my car and my son went in my PJ’s (figured it was like target drive up) parked in the curbside pickup location and followed the instructions given in my email. And GIRL. I couldn’t get ahold of customer service, I had NO intentions on going into the store because I had my son with me & i am pregnant. Trying to avoid any exposureeee. But after a half hour of calling the number provided (per the email instructions) I left and had to have my husband come and physically go into customer service wait another 30-40 mins to get my order of LITERALLY boxes and tape. Lowe’s needs some serious help.
