Sometimes last minute events may come up requiring you to showcase your designs to the public, and transfer paper using an inkjet printer is the way to go.
One of the classic but often forgotten ways of quickly printing t shirts at home is the transfer paper method we show in this video. Whether you’re a high school student or a parent looking to make a couple of shirts for friends, transfer paper printing is a fast and convenient way to get a small batch of t-shirts.
Next time you’re in a bind like I was when I found out my niece and nephew were having a dinosaur themed birthday, consider using this method to printing your t-shirt designs. The best part about it is, that so far the design we printed have held up after multiple washes, even after being submerged in a pool!

I hope this video helped you realize how easy it is to print t-shirts at home! Right now I’d like to address some common questions I’ve been seeing in the comments. Before I do that I’d like to make it clear. I do not condone you stealing peoples art, and if you have any legal questions about art definitely consult an attorney :)
✅ Now one of the most common questions is what printer I used in this video. The printer I have is an Epson, but you can use ANY inkjet printer to pull this off. I have linked some items you can find on amazon which should help here. Keep in mind every printer is a little different, but as long as it uses INKJET it should work fine. I’ve done this with other printers before: www.amazon.com/shop/jaycashofficial
✅The next questions is how long does it last? In my experience transfer paper is good for a few washes, You’ll need to follow the care instructions if you plan on keeping it looking good for a longer time. I washed the design 20 times and dried it as well, and I had posted the results in the story for everyone to see. If you didn’t see it, it started to crumble up a bit. That was with regular washing/ drying. So I recommend this printing method for promotion/ samples for you to show a few times. This works perfect for events/ parties!
✅Now if you’re actually wanting to start your own custom clothing line, I encourage you to watch some of the videos on my channel and checkout the free resources we provide you here: bit.ly/Free-Apparel-Training

      Plyde Trinidad
If you just took a paper and ironed it on the shirt without printing anything the dark fabric paper will appear as white while the light fabric paper will be transparent. So if you were using a black shirt and didn’t want any white to appear on the picture you could either use the dark fabric paper and cut all white off or use the light fabric paper and just leave it transparent. Meanwhile it works either way for a white shirt.

Ive used this process & it lasts better with heat press..ive gotten yrs out of shirts made this way but they do fade eventually...high heat (I use about 350 to 375)seems to seal it better..but tell customers to wash on cold /delicate/inside out to be on the safe side- edit: you can also use an eco tank printer and switch your printer ink (sub ink or pigment)

Hey John! My name's Duncan.! I'm from New Zealand.! Taranaki!.
I'm developing a new interest in T-shirt printing.! I've seen you and your partner's/wife's video too! They are both helpful definitely.
We need individuals out there like you both that help others.! It's a wonderful thing to see.! God Bless you and your family.! Stay safe and keep well and healthy during this covid 19 level 2/1.!?
I've tried my hand at my first attempt however I failed. Anyway I don't want to give up either. Like these wise quotes/sayings from famous people. "Never Say Never".! Justin Bieber. Pop Star. "You Gotta Believe".! Michael Jackson.! The true King of Pop. The legend. The icon. "Get back up on the horse" as they say.
To begin with I have a few blank t-shirts. I think they're 100% cotton. I've had a while since buying in Singapore.! 2009/2010.! They're Gildan cotton brand I think. Classic style.
I carried out iron-on transfer process. A little while ago now. By using:
pillowcase. Stanley knife. Wooden chopping board. Wooden table surface. Iron. Transfer paper for light and Dark transfer. Scissors. This the equipment I used.
I've chosen some images by finding on google. That I like. I've not been able to think up my own designs as of yet. I'm sorry about that.
They're of animals. Wrestlers. Quotes/sayings. Movie poster titles.
Now to the type of printer I own at home. I only have inkjet epson printer WF2540 series. Model number C471A.
I believe I followed instructions on transfer paper down to a T. However the final result after coming out of the wash cycle wasn't great at all. 🤔😟😞😢
I know and understand there's different ironing times for dark and light transfers. Relating to image size and preheating of iron itself relating to total ironing times.
I did remember to flip image when using light transfers.
I think the wash cycle I chose was where I went wrong. It could also be the speed of the wash. The temperature I used. I may not have waited 24 hours. Prior to washing it. Maybe forgot to turn inside out.
Also could've been how I printed it out. Did print on transfer paper after doing normal paper test.
I chose best quality (recommended) on my printer as there's no iron-on setting to click on. I forgot to choose matte setting for paper I think. This could help. I chose normal print paper I think.
I'm not thinking about selling yet. It was just for personal use for now. Until I think up designs for a selling point.
Could you please write back to offer me some advice and maybe help me out a bit on this process I've written up. Thank-you. John.
    "Keep it up"
    "Keep excelling"
    "Keep shining"
"Shoot for the moon and stars"

John, can you make a beginner's video for printing a design from your computer to transfer paper to your printer? If I order designs on Fiverr, I want to know how to take that design and print it and then do a heat transfer to a shirt.

X.X Ya the only thing this is good for is one off shirts that you might wear one time or if you're pitching a design really quick but even then the quality of the print and how it feels is complete shit compared to Screen Print or Direct to Garment printing. Feels like you're wearing a giant patch. Cool design though.

Stay away from inkjet transfers. Can't offer good quality and feel. Price is a bit high too. Get started with screen printed transfers and a heat press

it'd probably work better with a heat press. TBH I haven't tried it with that so I don't know. If someone on here reads it and has, help a brotha out 🙌🏽
