I JUST found this UA-cam and I'm diggin' the vibe. I love seeing other artists process vids, thank you for sharing! I have a tip on the sketching process: Draw it out, scan it, and change the pencil lines to a non-photo blue. Print it out with the blue line work on heavier paper. THEN ink it on that blue ink print out. I agree that a direct hand-drawn piece looks much more alive. Once you dig that ink look, scan it again and drop out that blue in Photoshop. I know that final resellable artwork is a great addition to your flow, but should you get the need for a switch up this is a great option. This way enables you to play with your final inked look w/o sacrificing the final piece.
@@elletangere8964 thats what I learned too! If a raster image needs to be printed for a larger print the edges will become pixelated if it wasn't created for the larger size!

Hello greetings here from Brazil sao paulo, my name is Valmir lemes and I am illustrator and graphic design, I loved your channel, already subscribed and gave my like! Your drawings they are beautiful, beautiful works! 😍😍👍✍👁
I do this already for most of my art, but instead of using both Illustrator and Photoshop, I do all that in GIMP because it's free and does just as well for stuff like this with only needing the one program. However, GIMP does not have the built in Pantone colours, so you'll have to grab those from the internet.
Hey Dudes and Girls! At 13:50 you talk about the black on your design. That is a question I don't understand yet. I usually have fat outlines around my drawings. If I print them on a black shirt, the disapear. So I usually but another colored outlines around the black ones. But would you remove the black on the drawing anyway? So that black lines are just the fabric of the shirt? I am not sure yet if that would look great. And if you do, how do you remove just the black? and would you do the same for black n white designs or it doesn't matter? Thanks for all your answers in advance! Dave
From a screen printer: The main reason screen printing limits the number of colors you can use is because screen printing doesn't work like your typical ink jet printer. Each color in the artwork requires a screen, which is essentially a stencil. So if your art uses six colors, the job will require six stencils (or screens). The other limiting factor is the maximum number of print heads on the press. They come in 1, 4, 6, 8, 10, & 12 head configurations. Each color in your design is applied one at a time.
Such a sick video and process, but I can’t help but wonder…why not just scan the image in? Obviously if you don’t have access to a scanner it’s understandable, but I feel like a lot of the work up front could have been expedited with a scanner, right?

Isn’t a vectorized image advisable when printing? And not a rasterized image?
Please answer. I was taught that was the case as a raster image may not print with high quality.
@@elletangere8964 thats what I learned too! If a raster image needs to be printed for a larger print the edges will become pixelated if it wasn't created for the larger size!
As long as your image is at least 300dpi, it doesn't have to be vectorized. Vector is safer though.
True, you just need to be 300dpi image at original size you will print and then dont have problems, but i think is quite easy if he use AI to vectorize the lineart, more easy to him to colorize!!!
Dude, thanks a lot for this video, there is a lot you don't learn in design school, and videos like this are great help!
how do you print the designe on your T-Shirt ?

thanks Ten, but what about the printing process? What kind of print did you use? silk-screen printing, thermo-adhesive printing, digital printing?
The way he inked the line of the arrow at 3:30 without any toll was just wtf hahah
Im glad i found a comment like this i was trippin to
Have you ever tried scanning your artwork in sections and using the photomerge function in Adobe Photoshop? I tend to get better quality line art working this way then using a photo.
Damn dude! I'm glad I randomly found your vids. Dope design, simple intuitive instruction & a cool personality. Subscribed & "belled"! Keep up the good work my guy.
This is so freaking cool. I haven't drawn or used Illustrator in a decade but I want to pick it up again and create dope stuff like you!
Your other half is so cute!
Yo champ! you just became my new roll model. This is exactly what i want to do but just don't have the drive for it. But this just put me on a new path to success. Thank you very much for sharing with me!
Gonna flex on my friends SO hard with these shirts
Very cool work. You can use the straighten tool when using the crop tool.

Much love from Germany and stay healthy 🙇♂️
I thought the same thing. I think he is a fan of Taiyo Matsumoto
Thanks for your video, I like your talents.
@4:35 about the large scanning, have you tired the old school trick to divide the large picture into 4 quarters and combine them in photoshop as a one large image?

I like the three hairs sticking up from your hat hole lol
I do this already for most of my art, but instead of using both Illustrator and Photoshop, I do all that in GIMP because it's free and does just as well for stuff like this with only needing the one program. However, GIMP does not have the built in Pantone colours, so you'll have to grab those from the internet.
"boost up the blacks...whoops,
boost down the blacks"
hahah downwards boosting
The most talented i have seen, making t-shirts.
hey man can you do a vid about photo/art manipulaion on photoshop, I think it will be very helppful for us. BTDubs KEEP GRINDIN GOOD ART!
Dave
Tip: Don't use cheap thin T-shirts to put amazing designs on. Buy quality materials and your customers will love you.

I swear that one part made me feel like he was giving me a cheat code. Shift up down ctrl i
been drawing all my life. i usually draw up a idea and then take it to a artist and have them redraw it and add their creativity
From a screen printer:
The main reason screen printing limits the number of colors you can use is because screen printing doesn't work like your typical ink jet printer.
This guy was definitely high when he was recording the audio
Really.
I was thinking the same thing!! Lol

Wow you have some awesome drawing skills.
Man! I made it there on accident and I'm trying to find my way back. Great video! Are you hiring? :D
Hey. Can't really tell in this video, but do you use a certain eraser to help reduce the marker ink removal when erasing? Or do you go over all the lines again with a black marker to make it a rich, black color again?
I want to do exactly what you are doing, lets draw
Just saw your name check out this mug 😂😂💕
What if I suck at drawing but have great ideas that I can never get out right, am I screwed for making my own brand?
Same here bruh XD

I got some crazy clothing designs, different colours combos and unusual cuts and even a logo but I have no tools or spare cash, what's the cheapest easiest way to sew a custom logo that's in my own handwriting?
"just start to draw" easier said than done.
Y’all complain about everything...
I forgot I actually commented this, sorry for complaining though, didn’t mean to come off like that.
