After spending a night away from the Tracks in Sea Island, GA, we headed back trackside in Savannah, GA. This video covers all the action from both our days in Savannah. Lots of CSX action, as well as some Georgia Central RR activity which kept things interesting... Amtrak made an appearance, as did KCS on Q401! Also, Q410 had a transformer and a large cut of MILITARY TANKS!! Overall it was a great stop that was well worth it!

Savannah is really an underrated town, if you come back soon you might see me at the station or something.
Very nice video! I worked for SCL in the 70s in Savannah. A lot has changed in railroading since those days like wide cab locomotives, crew sizes, and mounting/dismounting moving equipment, etc. One thing I really hate though is how the Class 1s have outsourced or sold their short lines and local switching to non-union scab companies. Savannah is little more than a crew change terminal now.
Nice! My Grandpa lives in Savannah! That 1st train needs a horn tune-up & that is a EXTREMELY late Silver Star!
Thanks! Savannah is a very nice city, I thoroughly enjoyed it! Yeah there was a derailment on the A-Line in Florida the previous night so he and 98 were routed up the S-Line, causing them to be extremely late...
O ok nice catch tho I'm sure there were some not-so-happy passengers! lol!
Q692 passes me in Kingsport TN :)
With Hurricane Florence still churning, wonder what kind of effect that this will have on CSX traffic? Savannah is where the CSX A Line starts.
I’m moving down there soon and I just ordered the whistler WS1010 handheld analog scanner do you or anyone know a good resource to find channels in Savannah GA
Thanks River! Great vid!
Thanks!
In a 2 hour span, how busy is each subdivision?
Nice Job Kerry
Thanks Tim!
How'd you get on the bridge?? Isn't that a highway?
It is
Phase III sleepers in that Amtrak? How Often do you see that in 2018?
I haven't seen too many, but I think they're supposed to repaint the viewliners to that paint scheme. They've already done the few, but not sure about the rest
River Line Productions so they are repainting viewliners to an older livery? That is cool and Retro. Can't wait for more of those :D
O wow! I had assumed that u confused the new diners 4 the sleepers, but it is a repainted sleeper! I don't remember hearing bout it so nice find!
Chess Eric I had to google it and found out that all brand new Viewliner II coaches produced by CAF are delivered in Phase III livery. All the new Viewliner II bagguage cars are in Phase III too :) Diners, Sleepers, Regular Coaches(I think), Bagguage Dorms and Bagguage cars is being delivered in the future :) Currently in production :)
O ok. I knew bout the baggage cars, but had 4gotten bout everything else.
