    Does the length of this match show that it's getting more difficult to win in chess with the relatively small move set (compared to Go) and the supercomputer training that they can both take advantage of?

    • @presqpuperze9771
      @presqpuperze9771 2 роки тому

      To add to the previous comment: On such a high (human) level of play, classical Chess is going do be a draw-dominated time format, just because players rarely blunder. The mistake Nepo made is not an obvious one. Qe6 looks SO natural, and when under such time pressure, you trust your intuition. Would he have found Qb1 or Qc2 with more time? Probably, yes. But compared to his blunder in game 8, this was just a minor slip up which lead to devistation.
      For chess in general: Just look at the TCEC. Pretty much the only Enginges fighting for the win here are Leela and Stockfish, with Stockfish currently having the upper hand by quite a bit, winning the last Superfinal (Season 21) 56 - 44. Last time Leela has won was in Season 17. In this last Superfinal, Stockfish scored 19 wins, 74 draws and 7 losses, so a draw rate of around 75%, which is MUCH lower than in human chess. Keep in mind, their Elo is at 3637 and 3618, respectively. Humans most likely won't ever break the 3000 mark (or just because of inflation of the point pool, which is why ELO is not a good rating system).
