Thank you for this info! I ended up returning the product anyway. It bothered me to much that they made it almost impossible to use. I didn't know this was primarily a google home product. I wanted a simple to use, good sounding bluetooth speaker, for use with various units, both apple and android, and this is definitely not it. Went for ultimate ears instead. Super happy with that!
Thanks, worked perfectly! Got this speaker with a phone, now I know why it was for free. So complicated. I guess the reason why you can't switch the Bluetooth on straight away is that they want people to use it with Google Home only, so they can get to know you and your habits really well :D.

Hey mate, I just bought this off a mate who got it free with her phone. Followed this advice and it worked, but got annoyed that you couldn’t adjust the volume. I randomly stumbled upon a way you can make the volume work without WiFi. Set it up as it you’re setting it up via WiFi, put your phone on personal hotspot (you have to manually input these) then once you’ve done that, close the app and press both home and Bluetooth on top of the speaker for 20 seconds, then Bluetooth again for same time. It’s a random but bloody useful hack I stumbled across but now it works without google home and on Bluetooth where I can adjust the volume
Omg it worked! THANK YOU! WTF!? You would think Harmon Kardon would include these instruction in the booklet that came with the speaker that tells you how to set it up. No, instead we have to turn to UA-cam so some random guy tells you how to use their product. They want you to use google home on wifi so bad. Like chill. I don’t care to have any of that. I just want to have a kick ass Bluetooth speaker. And now thanks to your help Bro, I do.
If you want to turn the bass down you can. While playing music press and hold the Bluetooth button AND the volume DOWN button until music stops, then press play again on your phone or whatever device is controlling the speaker, bass has now been reduced. To increase the bass back up do the same process but this time using the Bluetooth button and volume UP. Hope this helps you get the best out of the speaker 👍🏻👍🏻
I just tried this with the MKIII and the bass sucked. Tried to reverse it by pressing BT-button and + but that didn't work a tall so I had to reset to factory settings and start all over again. This product is a complete mess. Also found out that Spotify won't let you crossfade songs if you use Spotify Connect so that's a big issues with these kinds of speakers, tried a Sonos One SL yesterday that i returned because of the same issue. If you for example hope to get songs to play without pauses in between tracks (like for white noise at night) it has to be connected through Bluetooth (not Spotify Connect) otherwise Crossfade / automix (seamless transitions) is deactivated.

Urgh this was a ball ache to set up but it does sound good, and once it’s up and running you’re good to go. I just wish I didn’t have to Google the Bluetooth setup process. That should be in the instruction manual but it wasn’t! Oh and it would’ve been nice if it could be charged and run off a battery as well but never mind.
I have been using this speaker for sometime until now when it has started giving me issues. At first it could get disconnected in the middle of a song and you reconnect. But these past few days it is failing to pair and I don't know why. When I try to activate the Bluetooth mode, it's not working ( the blue flashlight are not appearing). Try connecting it via Bluetooth dis connect phone when connected then connect again turn volume down using phone its very hard to understand or Try turning speaker of afew seconds then back on again when connected keep pressing volume down on speaker

Hi. The lights on my Citation One have suddenly stopped coming on when I ask a command. The unit works fine but I don't know when it comes on as no lights activate upon asking it something. Does anyone know how to get the lights to come back on? Thanks .
Do you have any idea why my unit won't go into power saving mode (one LED in the middle) it still shows all the lights. Is it supposed to go into power only when it's off the charging cradle? Also - how can I stream audio from the UA-cam app (not UA-cam music). Thanks
I think the kids my way the only way to stream through “non supported apps” is through Bluetooth,… it seems the supported apps are through wifi only. Why they didn’t just put in a damn AUX input is beyond me. It would have been sweet to be able to used this with a TV or gaming, or any non Bluetooth device that outputs audio.

For me volume is 0%/100% only. Not possible to adjust volume.
