Thanks. It really comes down to Alexa vs. Google Assistant. If you're an Alexa fan, this is not the droid you seek, uhh, the speaker you want. If you're a GA fan, this has the best sound of any Google-enabled speaker I've tested.

I bought the Harmon Kardon Citation 100 won't get it until Friday. I did buy it on eBay for 100.00 new sealed box. We have several Alexa speakers one is a Kitsound VoiceOne. It sounds pretty good better than the Echos. When you have 2 of them I would argue they sound better than the one Sonos and cost the same. The mic response is ok but not as good as the Echo plus. I think Alexa is more responsive turning off lights and such and shopping than Google we have the Google Home mini. I think Google is better at questions for example if you ask Alexa what the weather will be she will say it's going to be 30F and whatever the chance of snow and rain there is. Google will tell you the temp 30 degrees and that it will feel like 20 and then wind conditions and IF the roads are wet or icy. You would have to ask Alexa multiple questions to get the same info.I think both systems are useful and like cooking utensils one tool is not a do-everything solution. We have Spotify that we plan to utilize with the Harmon Kardon. Though we do have issues with privacy and don't endorse either company as we see them both as monopolistic evil empires.

I have a subscription for Spotify, but there's a free version too. The other services like iHeartRadio are free for basic usage, so depending on the specific station, odds are good that you can listen to it free on this device!

Well, I'm a Sonos fan so I might lean that way if I had to choose. I can say that at this point the Harmon Kardon is in my son's apartment and I have two Sonos One speakers in my living room. :-)

My speakers say the same joke over and over with no new ones for the past month. How do I fix it? I’ve tried disconnecting them and re connecting, pressing the reset button on the bottom etc nothing works???
I believe Google's built that into the Google Assistant tech, so yes, the Citation One should be able to utilize that feature. I haven't tested it out myself, however.

Ah, no, it doesn't work that way. It will answer to any voice, but if you enable the individual voice features, I believe it'll try to "remember" your previous requests so it can contextualize things like "what's my schedule today". The g'kids will be fine!

so got both speakers working finally (turned out to be google software displaying wrong messages). Yet there is no possibility to have this pair of speakers working in stereo. You wanna stereo, look elsewhere (Sonos? KEF?). These are just 2 bluetooth speakers with google assistant, which won't be your best friend when it comes to music playback. It's just a different product to what I anticipated. It should not be compared with Sonos, which is primarily about music.
I would check with Harmon Kardon for that. I definitely have other smart speakers that flip to stereo when paired, just don't have the Citation One in house any more...
it doesn't work if you want to use bluetooth. if you use google app you can't have Tidal other way than through chromecast and this works terribly (also sonically). if you want stereo stay away from it. I've just learned it hard way
Did you try using the google home app and broadcasting to multiple speakers? I've been successful doing this mixing many brands. oops 🤔 just realized you meant 'Stereo'.. duh!

They do not become stereo…..they are basically 2 mono speakers which does not make stereo…..correct me if I’m wrong

That might depend on how old your TV is: Bluetooth 5.0 has much lower sync delay.

Needs a wifi connection. Other than Kindle-type devices, no modern smarthome devices I can think of have their own Internet connection.
