    BEST video I’ve seen so far on Mystery of History!!! Thanks so much for posting! 🙂 I haven’t been able to find much info on it!

    I thought I knew what I wanted for history but kept second-guessing my choice. I am back at square one now and just wanted to say thank you for doing this, for going into detail, and for all the links you posted. I still don't know what we are going to wind up using but this has been so helpful. Thank you 😊

    Thank you so much! I was using sonlight and was hoping to be able to continue to with our timeline book.

    This was such a great review. We love MOH and I’ve been wondering about the printable resources. We have both the old text and new colored text editions so we’ve been working with the program that way. Just subscribed. I also have a channel and would love to be friends and connect. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!

    I love your review. Very informative. I'm still having trouble picking between Story of the World and Mystery of History. Many say SOTW is too secular because it mentions idol worship and false gods. But those things did exist and I dont want to shield my son from that. On the other hand some people say MOH books don't say enough on other religions and cultures. How much in detail does MOH go in reference to other religions and cultures?

      MOH is very Christ-centered and incorporates the Bible timeline into world history. I imagine there isn't a big focus on other religions so you could always go deeper on any subject you feel isn't as well represented as you'd like.
      I plan to do a separate World Cultures study outside of world history.

    Thank you for such an in-depth look of this!
    I bought it and was so overwhelmed with the student download guide - but I like how you separated it out.
    If you do decide to use it - do you think you will make student binders then make copies from your bound notebooks you made?
    I’m trying to figure out the maps too lol .. it just seems cumbersome.
    Thank you for any other input or insight you may be able to give!

      What I plan to do, before we start the course, is use the reference sheet as to how many of each map to print and just print them single-sided from the .pdf for the student binder. Then they will be ready to go when needed. It will be easier to do it that way than to copy the maps from the appendix I printed. I imagine there will be an occasional activity sheet I'll need to print as well (where there would be things to cut out) but I don't think there are too many of those. :)
      I hope that helps you!! Thank you for your kind comments as well.

    Such a great review. I’m very stressed out trying to find if it’s possible to homeschool my two daughters of very different ages together for history. I have a 10th grader and 3rd grader next school year. Do you think I can do this curriculum? I wouldn’t know how. My mama heart wants to homeschool them together for at least one subject 😢

    Can you give me your thoughts on Notgrass and Mystery of History? I've never used either and I'm having a hard time deciding 😅

      @PurposefulHomeschool  3 роки тому +2

      Sorry it's taken me so long to reply... I'm actually having the same problem deciding between the two as I have both From Adam to Us (Notgrass) and MOH Volume I. From Adam to US covers a longer timeline and so I'm leaning toward MOH because it isn't as long of a timeline and we can go a little deeper. I'll have to do a full-fledged review of the Notgrass, which will help me get a better feel for it.

      @@PurposefulHomeschool I would love to see a comparison of the two as well. I'm debating doing one of these with my 6th grader this year.

    Story of the world maps and map key, and use a match up chart for the alignment.

    do you know how this would compare to SCM history? are there companion living books or suggestions?

    Which Bible do they use?
    Very thoughrough review.

      Good question. There is a handwriting curriculum I just threw in the NOPE pile because they use a horribly inaccurate translation of the Bible. I don't even think translation is the right word...😬 Glad I realized it before I bought it!

    What age do you recommend this for? I have 2nd graders and think this looks a bit advanced, what is your opinion?

    What size of binding did you use for binding ( I assume you used the ProClick). Also, did you make your own covers?

    • @PurposefulHomeschool
      @PurposefulHomeschool  2 роки тому

      Yes I used the Proclick and I used 1/2 in spines. I did make my own covers for those. :)
