My fiancee recently died and I've realized that society doesn't talk about death. So, when someone is suddenly face-to-face with with a tragic loss, nobody wants to talk about it because nobody knows how to talk about it. So Indigo's casual discussions on death as a very real part of life is very refreshing. Indigo is an incredible musician and a rad human, just like my boo.
Hope you're doing well. Yes death is a natural part of life, I speak to my students about it as naturally as I can. My father died last year and in 1st grade we had a very beautiful discussion about how to honour the life of our deceased ones ❤ they really, really needed to talk about their losses and it showed. We all need to talk about it. Thanks for your comment and for sharing your story ❤❤❤❤
I'm so sorry for your loss. We don't talk about it or embrace it enough as a society. I don't know what you are going thru, I have lost my dad and my oldest sister. But everyone is so unique and feel things so differently. To know someone truly is to let someone in and share a personal world with them and build it. That lost felt as real physical damage. I hope that you are doing well and have love in your life. I send my weak positive internet wishes your way.
Indigo's genuinely my favorite artist for the past couple of years. I've laughed, danced, sang, screamed, and sobbed to her songs. I've never felt so seen before like I do in her music. I was supposed to see her recently but she had to cancel her show, this made me even more excited for when it finally does happen
You took the words right out of my mouth. she's incredible and has a way of helping me channel some intense emotions I've been feeling through her music. It's magic.
Younger and Dumber is such a moving song... I love watching her perform it live. When she performed it in Brooklyn, she also gave a beautiful preamble that made me feel connected to it.
This is the most hopeless i've ever felt in 25 years of my earth visit. Each day ever so gloomy. Somehow, this session for a moment, gave me peace. Thank you..
Your spark of life and hope persists - you are giving it time and air - this or any other moment does not persist! Trust and be kind to today - it’s all ok - all of it.
Mellow. Refreshing. Straight from the heart. This is music performed through passion and heartfelt emotion rather than technical showmanship. Fantastic and rare.
i love Indigo so much, her music, life philosophy and overall shared human experience touched me like no one's else. she nurtures all the good and important parts of life as a human being, relationships, death, nature, nothing is ordinary to her, and that's shocking in a ignorant work-driven world. her work kept me sane and happy for a good time, and i recommend her for anyone that feels like, experiencing and thinking of it all. in conclusion, shes a great human.
I've been lucky enough to live in Indigo's part of the world and got to witness her talent bloom firsthand. I knew from the first time I saw her perform at the Lexington avenue arts festival that she was something special and some day the rest of the world would know it.
I’ve watched this countless times. I drove 4 hours solo to see her in Madison WI last year and I’ll be seeing her again this year. Indigos voice has carried me through things I thought would be the end of me. Magic.
I've watched probably a 100 or so of these Tiny Desk Concerts and this is comfortably in the top 5 for me. This is all going in without knowing anything about you. Musically, that was just wonderful. You have a really nice band around you and you have beautiful range on your voice. No idea the worth of it, but my mind really dug it. Thanks for sharing.
@@awake_at_the_wheel7644 Man, that's a tough one. Before posting this, I did an unscientific poll in my mind and it felt about right. I'd have to do some digging around my viewing history to respond. Give me some time, and I'll make it happen.
I saw her perform live in Richmond the same day this was recorded!! I’ve been sooo excited ever since she said she did NPR that morning and now it’s finally here! I’m crying in the break room right now watching this. I
I love Indigo De Souza and this set gave me so much more appreciation for these songs!! I already loved them but this just opened them up in a new way and exposed different dimensions to them. Gorgeous gorgeous
So insanely grateful for these. It’s just amazing to have music. Something about this venue and journalistic recording of human expression in a tiny desk just fully connects to my heart. Thanks to the artists and NPR.
Mexican fan here! I discovered your music a few months ago and this new album just hit me like no other. I just wanna say that you're music has so much power on my feelings, on how sometimes I feel something and I don't get to know why, but your songs help me understand these feelings and accept them as part of the human experience, because you feel them too, and you make beautiful art about them, thanks for sharing that with the world. You just made my cry and smile tonight while listening to this whole beautiful set. Lots of love from Mexico :)
Just stumbled upon her and that last song touched my soul.....words can't describe how that song perfectly reflects what I have gone through this past year.
If UA-cam view numbers are to be believed, Indigo basically played to a sold out arena show in the first 6 hours of this clip being uploaded, and I think we are all the better hearing it
Its been a long time coming! I love Indigo and her live performances always stick with me. She is such an amazing musician and I can't wait to follow her artistic journey! Thank you Indigo for your vulnerability and love
Indigo and the band are great - no doubt. I want to also comment on Maddie's accompaniment - soulful and tasteful - a richness underlying Indigo's songs. The lap steel work was particularly - well - graceful and Gilmour-like. Well done, all!
This was so pure. An emotional rollercoaster. Stellar songwriting and true musicianship. Her voice is like a window to her soul. I'm so grateful for her music to be in my life.
Man, Younger and Dumber practically brings me to tears every time. Such a powerful song. She truly can write from her emotions and experiences. Definitely one of my new favorite artists as of late.
The sound that Indigo De Souza can create is unique, authentic, raw, so necessary - I feel grateful and lucky to have it in my life and I hope that they can continue reaching people like they've reached me. Thank you!
I saw her open for Beach Bunny with Field Medic in 2020, literally right before the pandemic and loved her ever since. Her music got me through the pandemic and some of my darkest times in my life. I love Indigo with my whole heart and soul
Golly. Thank you so so much for this. My heart sure needed it. I was stoked to snag presale tickets yesterday to your upcoming show in Seattle and was surprised to see your Tiny Desk today. Felt like magic having the two happen back to back. I think you might be magic. Thanks again for the sounds and for your energy and presence. This was so good, y'all. Most appreciated.
I saw Indigo at a really intimate gig at Rough Trade Bristol in the UK. I've seen a lot of live music, and it was one or the best performances I have ever seen and reduced me to tears. I hope I get to see her again one day.
It was so incredible to hear them live!! Such an amazing experience! She moved the building with their vocals! Also got to meet the kind person playing the piano :3
Your music has come into my life at a time that I have been really struggling with myself. Thank you so much for your art and the beauty and soul it contains 💜

God i love this set already, Indigo is such a great person and definitely deserves to be on this show!
Couldn't have said it better
Indigo means a lot to me, "I love my mom" got me through 2021. The vulnerability and familiarity Indigo's lyrics brings is very comforting.
chills. indigo de souza is one of the best musicians of our time. i love her.
she really is i'm so glad we're here to witness it

The fact that UA-cam put ads in the middle of "Younger and Dumber?" Honestly, jail.
I think her lyrics are beautiful, creative, and relatable in a surprising way. She is a true poet.
Mellow. Refreshing. Straight from the heart. This is music performed through passion and heartfelt emotion rather than technical showmanship. Fantastic and rare.
She truly never misses ever. Indigo truly changed my life in teaching me how to be kinder to myself. I could never thank her enough.
Wow when she sung "I want to be a redwood tree" that made me start crying for some reason. Resonances can really have an impact on you.
She has the most beautiful eyes I’ve seen in a while 😮. I’ve listened her music for years never seen the persona
