Mr. Webb was my first band director. Miss. Hood was my director when Mr. Webb left Bellevue High School. These two people left such an impression on me. My best years of high school were spent out on the field...blood, sweat, tears, and joy when we heard the cheer of the crowds. I never had the chance to tell my former directors how much I admire and love them both. Band will always hold a special place in my life. Memories!
Rodney Webb was the axis upon the JOHSB turned into winning in contests, and self pride. While he certainly had help. it was Rodney Webb and his magnetism that made things happen. I was grateful that my senior year (76-77) was his interim year, then later would be his installment as Band Director. Every band director who came later owes their success to Rodney Webb who, within a few short years, positioned the band for it's success in the 80's.
Thanks for your comments. I was lucky to have Mr. Webb and Miss Hood for their first four years together at Overton. This was the first year and I had no idea what I was in for when I started camp there. I wonder how Miss Hood is enjoying retirement.
