I always pull exciter from the rotor and wind the coils on a machine then put them in. It’s more of a connection but easier than hand winding. When I am done I VPI it.
Hi. I’m usually pulling exciter stator fir rewind but this one our generator technician doesn’t wanna pull stator out so I decided to rewind it in place not bad took me 2 hrs. To rewind that little one.
Thats one messy job bro, but you nailed it, did you put epoxy on it , i have a doubt with RRA, did you just connected jumpers to the negatives and positives.
@@windertrucker6230 haha its just the diode man, rotating rectifier assembly, rra,,,they rectify the ac voltage from excitor rotor to dc which goes to the field poles while rotating so its RRA, just fancy but its diode, how many diodes where there, six?
@@harishharikumar1543 lol it’s funny bud i asked my boss who is in charge of genset and welder repair he told me I’m more than 40 years fixing generators I haven’t hear that RRA he advice me to asked you lol.Yap got 6 diodes on it. Bud.
@@windertrucker6230 may be its just two different terms of same thing, lets call them diodes simply. 3 negatives and 3 positives, so we put hook it in pairs to the three leads of excitor. I really want to work on DG sets man, but my experience with them is almost zero, there is no one to call for help if something goes bad, its very lucrative than motors.
Yes doesn’t mater that is the original winding 2 phase going to the right and 1 phase going to the left.I don’t want to change the winding on the same direction of connection so that I don’t have problem.👍 or 2 phase going to left and 1 phase going to right doesn’t matter

Diodes AVR and when bearing and housing failed will rubs to exciter stator,those are some of the problem by overheating 👍
