  • Monday's Firing Line with Tom Penny inspired P-Stone to look through our archive of tapes, where he found an old DV with some random stuff probably filmed by Theo Hand. You might remember some of the clips from our Skate And Destroy VHS video. Enjoy...

    The second nollie tailslide he does -- that opens with the 360 flip -- was really sick. Top-notch.

    "Hey get down! Five-O, Five-O!" Tom like the warrior he is says, "Wait, let me get one last switch hardflip." We all know the location inspired in Tony Hawk's Pro Skater where the hidden tape is at on the school level.

      Early 90s development and experimentation and perfecting and refinement, so by mid 90s it was the final product. It was privilege being that generation. Part of something that was being created. And I got to skate with some of the best skaters in the world. Best times

  • @tamtheoneandthebest
    @tamtheoneandthebest 13 років тому +1

    that first kickflip was pure joy... classic penny style. the guy was so ahead of his time, doing the most stylish switch flips (over 10stair handrails) before style even exested, while everyone else was still doing pressure flips.

    just noticed he had his back foot, on the first Tre flip, not in the pocket of the tail...thats some powerfull scoop!

    I remember getting this video back in the day (Thrasher “Skate and Destroy”) and being new to skateboarding and I watched the whole thing but this guys tricks and style just stuck out of the whole thing for me. I had no idea who he was but I became an instant fan of tom penny.

    Tom Penny (born April 13, 1977) is a professional skateboarder from Dorchester-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, England. He is well known in the skateboarding community for his calm style and natural abilities and as a master of frontside flips and many kickflip variations. He is also known as one of the few talents to avoid the trappings of skateboarding fame.

    Hey it wouldn't be easy to be pro back then because the only way skateboarding has progressed is that people figured out different techniques and ways to make tricks easier and better, back then, you wouldn't have had a million trick tip videos and the Internet to watch online skate vids. In the 90s your skills would be equivalent to how they are now. Show some repect for people who paved the way
