One of the big differences between the two bags is that the pro does not have stowable straps whereas the light does. Would be curious to hear your thoughts on this. Sometimes you get yourself in a situation where you need to check your bag (pick up more stuff on the trip, prohibited items, or airline gate checks you). I really love everything about the pro but not ready to buy it yet because I’m worried about the straps. I might try to find a solution for that problem. The lite is not for me since I have a longer torso than the recommended size. I might just get the pro anyway, but I’m looking into Pakt and Matador as alternatives. Nice video! Thank You! I have had no worries checking my Pro. I understand the concerns with the straps, but I usually just cinch them tight and I have never had any damage thus far! PS: I love the pro! SO stoked if you get it and let me know if you find something even BETTER! 😊
The water test changed my mind about the light. Thanks for going the extra mile in the testing. You cost me an extra hundred bucks, but I was headed to Panama in the rainy season. So, you probably saved me a few grand on on mac laptop.

@Travel Hacks, New sub. Like your humble, practical and straight to the point style. Can’t believe you don’t have more subs but gotta start somewhere. Bought the 40l Pro and was bummed the Lite came out but after this review, I think I made the right choice as I do take out on personal and business travels and get caught in heavy downpour. And like you, the adjustable harness allows me to share it with my wife without buying another and cluttering up our house. Also agree if you’re going to have hip straps, having extra storage there is handy to move things out of the pants pockets and into there for more comfort while traveling. One last thing, for more organization pockets and extra water pockets, if filled out, they get eaten up but when not packing full, they’re there and very useful. More versatility and options. Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing more upcoming videos!

Great comparison video. Think I'm going with the Lite for weight and simplicity (and let's be real...price). Can throw an inexpensive backpack cover in there for heavy rain.

I’d like a lite with AquaGuard zippers 😏 Weight is key but a lack of waterproof capacity is a major negative for travelling especially during rainy season

I prefer the Lite, how the mesh is split in the interior and also that it doesn’t have the admin section in the front pocket (I never use that thing) … only downside is the waterproofing but I’m rarely under rain or without an umbrella
It gets the job done, and if rain will be present on my destination I can pack a cover and it should be fine. Overall I’m happy with my purchase , extremely comfortable, good quality and specs for my needs
I seriously want the Pro but it hasn’t got big enough water bottle pocket. Also they don’t have a luggage pass through. The main issue is that Tortuga does NOT ship to the UK. They don’t ship out of the US. I desperately want the Pro bag but I’m gutted they don’t ship to the UK. I need it before September as I’m going to a wedding in Italy 🇮🇹

Yes! I think that’s why for my personal use, The Tortuga Pro is still my favorite!
Nice video. I wish the Light bag was a bit lighter for the companies which allows only 7kg. It is the same weight as the Osprey Farpoint 40L.
