Beautiful job as always. Thanks for sharing this video. I enjoyed watching you work on it. You are an absolute fantastic restorer. Have a blessed weekend and please stay safe.
I almost couldn't decide if I like or hate this restoration... I finally decided that I like the way you restored this bayonet. First: it's a bayonet... If you restored it to like-new condition, what use would it be??? Who needs a bayonet in these days & times? Second: I like that you chose to keep the pitting. It's a reflection of all the time it spent in the earth before it was found & restored. I like the way you cold blued the entire item. That protects it from future corrosion & it minimizes the ugliness of the pitting. It would look awful if you had mirror polished the blade. Third: I'm glad that you restored function to the latch that locks the bayonet on to the end of the rifle. That makes a true restoration. 👍
I have been restoring weapons for over half a century, and I can tell you that a solution of between 10 and 20 to 1 water to molasses achieves a better result than did you, without effort, acid, and removing metal. Just leave the rusty part immersed in the molasses solution while it ferments ( 1-3 weeks ), agitating it occasionally. You may need to do it a couple of times, but it WORKS.
I tell you what my friend thats fantastic job👍👍you dun their buddy how it was before you workt on it now way that come up but look at it now wow👍👍lvly job nice one bro godbless you🛸.
Great video, especially because I found this exakt bayonet in my grandpa's basement when we cleaned out his house. Mine is in mich better condition, and I'm playing with the thought of restoring it by myself
and guys this is why you don't do electrolysis it rather says rusty they Turing into an sponge. the best solution is to boil the metal turning the active rust into passive rust(bluing) and scraping off the extent with an copper coin.
1:05 I appreciate my girlfriend getting pretty for me because at the end of the date, she removes this much makeup-must feel good removing 1lb of makeup off.
terrible. I'm unsubscribing the definition of restoration.....repair or renovate (a building, work of art, etc.) so as to return it to its ORIGINAL condition. this isn't restoration you cleaned it up you did not restore it.. Don't call it restoration if its not restored.
Mate you have no idea, restoring something does not mean bringing it back to its original condition, there are many variables. I think it’s great that he left the pitting, shows character. Honestly he’s probably better off if you unsubscribed lol, you’re clueless and have a shitty attitude.
This channel has enough people who love restorations that preserve the scars of time. You can block the channel, possibly there is one where they cover the grandparents with putty, so they look young
Thanks for not trying to build up all the rust pitting with a wire feed. Looks much better distressed. Great work.
О! Нарешті легендарний бучер! Як завжди робота на висоті! Всіх Благ і натхнення на нові реставрації!
Супер , чекаємо чогось древнього по типу середньовіччя 👍👍👍
I am glad you didn't fill the pits and make it look like new. Top marks.
Thank you! Decided to save history. But many did not like it (
@@ReXtorer Legacy is important , that soldier is memorialized better now.
Very nice. Where did you buy the replacement parts? I mean the wooden pieces.

What kind of oil is it in the time 12:34? Thanks
sewing machine oil
good🙂🙂👍
I dont know jack about smithing but would it be possible to heat up the blade enough to then scrape those dents out?
how did you get the handle scales? I have a one like this and I just need the scales and flash protector.
Why you didn’t heat the blade and hammer it to flatten all these holes

👍😍 Супер, красавец 👍👏💪🦾
Nice your work, please where you purchased the replica sheet metal under grips??
cool 😊
Absolutely amazing! You are very talented. Keep these wonderful videos coming! Peace, and Glory to Ukraine. Cheers🇨🇦.
I don't like restorations that leave pitted surfaces. I only like restorations that leave a smooth and mirror-shine finish.
Oh! You should have told us that earlier, before we forced you to watch this video!
Have you ever tried the electrolysis using the vinegar instead of water?

Please continue to restore lighters
If it's rusty and eating into the metal and years old got to be fake.
This is a 1896 model. Found on a WW1 battlefield. It was produced until 1918
Blade still looks ugly pitted.
Umm...... NO!
Butcher.
Читается и звучит как байонет. По украински это звучит как багнет.
