Actually the name "Return of the Jedi" doesn't mean the Order. It means the return of THE Jedi, Anakin Skywalker, The Chosen One.
So it should be return of a Jedi
@@hellfirecannon66 Well, if that were the case, it wouldn't be specific. Which Jedi are they referring to? Luke, Anakin, Yoda, Obi-wan, etc. And also the double meaning of the title wouldn't make any sense since it obviously refers to a person.
@@CJ_1406 Return of Anakin to the Jedi
That's true, for example "the" in portuguese has two forms, one for singular and another for plural. The plural form would be used for the order, but it is used in the singular, which means it refers to one person. I think it is valid to accept this since the title translation needed to be approved by LucasFilm back in 83.
By the way, the Brazilian title is "O retorno do jedi". If you reading this speaks a language that has singular and plural articles, leave here how it is called in your country
@@LeLNascimento in french, "le retour du jedi", singular
The Last Skywalker being the Phantom Menace and vice versa is actually quite poetic.

Weirdly nice yeah
Since when was there a Star Wars film named "The Last Skywalker"?
@@RuyVuusen inaccurate but decent name

_Episode I: The Rise of Skywalker_
_Episode II: Revenge of the Sith_
_Episode III: Attack of the Clones_
_Episode IV: Return of the Jedi_
_Episode V: The Force Awakens_
_Episode VI: The Last Jedi_
_Episode VII: The Empire Strikes Back_
_Episode VIII: A New Hope_
_Episode IX: The Phantom Menace_
Wrong titles here are the main reasons why the titles to episodes originally are correct
Episode I: The Phantom Menace (it’s called that because it’s about Palpatine he’s the Phantom Menace)
Episode II: Attack Of The Clones (it’s referring to what Yoda says at the end of the film begun the Clone War has)
Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith (it’s about the Sith finally revealing themselves and getting their revenge by launching order 66 and also it’s also referring to what Palpatine said during his fight against Yoda I have been waiting a long time for this which he was looking for the actual person he wanted as his true apprentice which was Anakin Skywalker as he watched him during The Clone Wars and the 10 year gap)
Episode IV: A New Hope (it’s all about Luke he’s the New Hope)
Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back (and this title fits here because well the Empire does have their strike back against the Rebels they destroy the rebel base on Hoth they capture Han Solo and take him to Jabba)
Episode VI: Return Of The Jedi (it’s called that because it’s not about Luke returning as a Jedi it’s about Anakin Skywalker returning as a Jedi he kills Palpatine not Vader Anakin did it)
Episode VII: The Force Awakens (it’s called that because it’s all about Rey as the force is awaken inside of her as she becomes the next Jedi and plans to find Luke Skywalker to learn from him)
Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (it’s called that because Luke Skywalker is the last Jedi it’s what Kylo Ren said when he fought him)
Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker (it’s called that here because it’s what Rey stated at the end of the film when she was who was she she replied with that she was a Skywalker)
Please do the research on these films to know why they are called what their called

"Come on guys-"
Aside for Attack of the Clones being named Revenge of the Sith this is shockingly accurate.
Not really, the Sith haven’t fully come out of hiding, and their revenge was not even completed, it’s called of attack of the clones because the clones attack on Geonosis
@@MrJoelMiller Ehm that is exactly what I was implying. I think you misunderstood my comment.
@@MrJoelMiller yeah thank you captain obvious
@@Hollowmello1285
They are welcome! ; )
It's the Sith's revenge after what happened in Episode 1, it counts.
The reason the Phantom Menece is named like that for episode 1 is that it's referring to Palpatine. How he doesn't reveal himself towards the Jedi and uses his sith identity in secret
Yes, that's exactly why this person used it for Episode 9, because Palpatine had supposedly been behind everything from the start like a puppet master, a phantom menace in the shadows. If they didn't realise it referred to Palpatine they wouldn't have used it for 9
@@Keanineexcept Palpatine announced himself to the galaxy.
@@Keanine He used it for the last movie because the dude comes back to life like a gosh darn phantom and menaces folks.
Dang he’s got a point there
No he doesn't. No offense
Rots refers to the fact the sith were near extinct according to the jedi now the nedi are near extinct post order 66
Phantom menace refers to the person manipulating everybody in the background and how palps got into office
The attack of the clones is honestly not a great name in my opinion but the clones attack genonosis and join the war
New hope is litterally referring to Luke joining the rebels a new hope not necessarily a return of the jedi as some would argue hope isn't necessarily a victory and hope is a fighting chance.
The empire did strike back and win so why would that name be wrong they won the rebels won in a new hope but the empire shows they still are in control and straight up won
Return of the jedi was a pre Disney name back when the jedi could finally return from hiding because empire is crumbling.
Force awakins is basically marry sue joins battle
Last jedi is referring to Luke breaking charater and wanting jedi dead despite. It going against everything he ever stood and being like all jedi should be gone which doesn't make sense even if Luke doesn't want to be the hero he knows that either he let's the bad guys win or not and the jedi are kind of useful when deleting sith lords
And rise of skywalker should just have a new name entirely because Luke's dead Ben's dead palps grand kid who was made with Luke's hand DNA (that's actually cannon Luke's DNA was used to make Rey so technically the Rey x kylo is incest)

*No shit, Sherlock.*
It's almost as if the guy who made this video expressed the irony behind the differently fitting names and wanted to make a silly, exaggerated joke.
*But that's just crazy! Nobody does that anymore!*
Yes before Disney took over and scrapped the EU he was the new hope that restored the Jedi order. Since Disney made the rebel alliance like 90% Jedi and ruined Luke character that isn't really a thing anymore. Like for real between Ezra, Ahsoka, Kanan ETC the rebel alliance had like hundreds of 'former' jedi in their ranks making Luke kind of subpar.
@@empireofengland6039 It’s called a New Hope because she begs Obi-Wan Kenobi to help her, saying “You’re my only Hope.” But Luke comes along and is revealed to be a NEW Hope.

I love how people are getting mad about an obvious joke
I agree with the logic. In my opinion, though, Attack of the Clones sounded more like a working title that you come up with before you have a finished product. And it describes the final act, which we had to watch a lot of boring shit to get to. Shroud of the Dark Side might've worked because 1). It describes an underlying threat in the background, and 2). A character says it in the movie.
Yes but it would be the phantom menace but with different words
Or "Episode 2: The Approaching Storm".
@@SpFlash1523 The Episode 2 prequel novel has that name.
Nah, I liked the Kamino exploration, and also the politics to lead the republic into war is as interesting. While the love plot is a bit meh, I will say it’s a dynamic I haven’t really seen before as it’s a emotionally repressed person sharing feelings with a political figure who had to also be emotionally repressed for decorum. Plus the whole mystery of her mom’s disappearance to their eventual final meetup is just great. 😢
Technically the original names for Episodes 2 and 3 were correct, because order 66 was the doing of the Sith, the entirety of Episode 3 was a revenge plot, and Episode 2, well we meet the clones for the first time ever, so it is all about the clones, not the sith.
And "The Phantom Menace" refers to Darth Maul and the quiet yet present threat of the Sith, who are suddenly returning after who knows how long. They were like, say, a _phantom?_
"A New Hope" refers to Luke Skywalker choosing to become a Jedi, and then destroying the Death Star. In doing so, he became a new symbol of hope for the rebellion and the galaxy.
In "The Empire Strikes Back", the Empire does exactly that. It triumphs greatly over the rebellion after the loss of the Death Star in the previous movie.
"The Return of the Jedi" is directly referring to Anakin Skywalker's return to the light side.
"The Force Awakens" refers to how the force is suddenly awakening within Rey and guiding her to the path of the Jedi.
"The Last Jedi" refers to how Rey ends up being the last living jedi in existence by the end of the movie. Also, Kylo Ren and Luke Skywalker both say it outright.
"The Rise of Skywalker"... honestly, I feel like this is the only title that doesn't really fit the movie.
@@darckap2785 Well we don't know if Rey is truly the LAST Jedi by that point. Ahsoka, Grogu, and Cal Kestis could still be alive. Grogu most likely is still alive by this point. (He'd only be in his late 60s-early 70s by then)
@@TheGingiGamer Okay, fine. She was the last living Jedi _that we know of._
@@darckap2785 Right. The new Rey movie will probably address this
@@TheGingiGameron the show grogu chose to be mandalore so he shouldn't be counted as a jedi (sorry if my english is bad)
This just blew my mind. Why did this make so much sense? Because it does. My God.
1 and 9 being switched makes sense
Its poetry,it rhymes
Episode 2 Attack of the Clones: the story is focusing on palpatine revealing to be a Sith and he wants revenge on the Jedi and the new Republic.
Episode 3 Revenge Of The Sith: Darth Sidious executed order 66, the Clones begin their attack on the Jedi.
The titles makes no sense in the story
The only one I agree on is that EP 9 could've been called The Phantom Menace.
One problem with empire strikes back is that they aren’t the empire
But let's be honest, they totally are and should have been branded as such.
@@justinharvey7398 they are a more powerful and improved version of the empire. They completely deserve their name. They went as far as kidnapping children to assert dominance. Lots of people don’t like the sequels so they overlook the details.

I think the names are generic enough, you could shuffle them at random and in some way, find a way to make any of them fit any of the films.
Honestly true
I think the hardest would be Attack of the Clones. Any movie past the prequels would make sense to have the title because Boba Fett was the only clone left
Star Wars: The Last Clone
This…actually works really well. Wel done.

@@abdullahmahtab7375
Exactly! 👆
Meme answer aside, Palpatine being a hidden Sith Lord disguised as the Chancellor of the galactic federation while pulling strings behind the scenes with two apprentices (Dooku and Maul) to start a galactic war is likely to be the reason for the title.
Or,
Anakin being recognized and recruited by the Jedi as the “Chosen One” when we all know he ends up betraying the Jedi and becoming Darth Vader is also a possibility.
The Sith were believed to be dead so they're phantoms
They really should have done this to begin with.
yeah but the titles are too obvious about the main plot
the fact that last and first episode are swapped
I would say that most films fit however switching the names around like this still makes sense which is pretty funny
I always thought if they'd named Ep. VII "The Spirit of the Force," you'd have A) done a thematic callback to Ep. I, and B) becomes a linguistic bit of foreshadowing and/or an in-joke, in tribute to the Japanese cinematic influences of Star Wars.
Now this makes a lot more sense than anything that I’ve ever heard before. I love and enjoy this since I have always loved Star Wars for most of my life
My reaction: 😑😐🤨🤔😧😦😮😯😲😳🤯
This was actually really clever.
Episode V has the right name because the Death Star was blown up in episode IV but the empire attacks again
The Force Awakens in it though
This actually makes so much sense except maybe the second one
"Empire strikes back... come on guys"
Luke isn't the last Jedi in episode 6 tho, there's still a whole bunch of survivors from the Republic days, like Ashoka or characters from Rebels
To be fair, they were all invented way after the movie was made. When episode 6 came out, it was insinuated that Luke was the last jedi after Obi Wan and Yoda had died.
@@CinematicSeriesGaming It wasn't insinuated, Yoda flat out said, "When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be." lol
Maybe the arrangement of these titles is meant to be ironic.
This actually makes sense to me
Give this man a job
Are you kidding? They're NOT wrong!
Im gonna use these names for the movies so i can go like “heyyyyyy wanna watch attack of the clones?”
This makes sense and don’t at the same there is a reason why GL choice these titles to those different movies
The Empire Strikes Back is the perfect name for Episode V, though. The Empire lost in the previous film, and this film shows them striking back at the Rebellion.
Darth Maul was the Phantom Menace.
The Clones Attacked on Geonosis as their combat introduction -Attack Of The Clones
The Sith have returned and won the clone wars - Revenge Of The Sith
A New Hope has risen in Luke.
The Empire Struck back by destroying Echo Base on Hoth.
The Jedi, Anakin Skywalker in the last moments, Returned. -Return Of The Jedi
The Force Awakens within a new jedi.
The Last Jedi was Luke as he had returned once more.
Rey (for no reason) had claimed the title of Skywalker - Rise Of Skywalker
This makes sense if these all came out in this order.
Why does this make so much sense?
it's kinda weird how all the titles some how work for a different movie
this actually makes sense
Wow they all make sense
luke: im the last jedi. grogu and ashoka: you sure about that?
The ending of rise of Skywalker seems to imply that Ashoka (since she’s one of the ghost voices) did die at some point prior to the sequel trilogy’s occurrence, although Grogu’s fate is still unknown

Episode IV: The Son of Skywalker (Despite his efforts Anakin’s son is born and his son destroys the Death Star)
Episode V: The Deal of Skywalker (Anakin makes a deal with Lando, and then he alters it)
Episode VI: The Death of Skywalker (Anakin dies after becoming good again, but he never apologized to Lando for altering their deal)
Episode VII: The Search for the Son of Skywalker (a bunch of random people try to find Anakin’s son)
Episode VIII: The Death of the Son of Skywalker (Anakin’s son dies via suicide, it’s a very important story meant to raise awareness for mental health)
Episode IX: The Death of the Daughter of Skywalker (Anakin’s daughter dies but it’s pretty insignificant, Chewbacca gets a medal)
Where the fuck is a custom characters in the skywalker saga
The Phantom Menace maul is a sith they were thought to be dead. Attack Of The Clones we see the rise of the clone army and the attack on geonosis. Revenge of the sith palps plan works then marking the revenge of the sith. A New Hope luke is the new hope. The Empire Strikes Back the empire strikes and takes the win. Return Of The Jedi is the return of Anakin skywalker to the light
I never thinked that
this has to be the new titles

OKAY BUT HE'S NOT WRONG
My god, you're right!!
Personally, I would call Episode 2 'The Phantom Menace' because it's the most conspiracy themed as they're investigating an unseen threat. Which would make Episode 9 'Revenge of the Sith' which makes sense because it's all about the last stage of Palpatine's plan to bring himself back to full power as a Sith Lord.

I must say, I am impressed by this man's logic for each title. Yet, wouldn't the title rearrangement give away too.much about the story of each film?
By proper wordplay your right but they work the normal way too.
I think people making these movies knew what they were doing
In Episode 8 it’s time for Luke Skywalker to return then Sacrifices himself then that’s make Rey “The last Jedi”
In Episode 3 Palpatine lost 2 times Count Dooko returns then dies General Grievous returns then dies then makes Anakin the next Sith then Order 66 happens that means it’s Palpatines revenge “Revenge of the Sith”
In Episode 5 the Empire returns after episode 4 “The Empire Strikes Back”
In Episode 6 Luke returns after losing his hand in Episode 5 “Return of the Jedi”
In Episode 1 Palpatine becomes the first Star Wars Villian in Timeline order he’s Phantom “The Phantom Menace”
In Episode 2 The Clones Attack “Attack of the Clones”
Cool, it's like 1st movie has the title the last movie needs to get and last movie has the title that 1st movie needs.
Conspiracy Theory:
They intentionally tried going full circle by making it fit episode 1's name more than episode 1 itself and name it something that could replace episode 1's title to try to get it so someone will get the connection somehow and then this happened.
Or Jar Jar is the Phantom Menace.
100000000 IQ move, very ironic this is
