Amazing how sometimes if it’s meant to be it will be.. I did a similar thing with a 1486 a local guy had I always wanted. found it years later going through a farm auction and was able to get it bought it won’t get away this time… haha… thanks for sharing
Those hi-lift jacks are handy but they are dangerous. Glad you didn't get hurt worse or loose your eye. Neat story about your 4030. Hope you are able to get the other one someday. I like a tricycle front end for doing a lot of things. I don't have any big tractors with them now but maybe someday. Cutting hay and planting and cultivating they are hard to beat. I know a fellow with a 1066 narrow front. Neat tractor. Hope you get your tank cleaned out. Good to know someone who can do it. When you fool with the old tractors sometimes you need it done. I bought a 4030 no cab and wide front in 1979 it had 882 hrs on it I had to rebuild the engine at 1325 hrs. I recognize that engine and don’t want another one.
I had a 76 4030 SGB diesel wide front with quad range. Loved that tractor was a great planting tractor with a 6 row 7100 mounted planter. Could make them rows straight for "the" day without GPS.
I'd love to have a 4030 like that I like the quad range, that's what I cut my teeth on. They sure are great tractors. My first boss had a 4230 loader tractor, 4430 , 4640 and A 8630 . All were quad range. Also had a great 4320 the pride of the farm.
Periodically we add atf to the fuel seams to help with the rust and crap in the fuel. Our ford tractor injector pump was all gummed up we filled the pump body with atf and added it to the fuel and its running much better still 2 years later
Yeah, thanks for reminding me, ATF is a great diesel fuel system cleaner, l have used it in the past but it's been a while. l'll have to dump some in my tanks.
I've only seen a couple of the 30 series tractors that had a narrow front under them, Kind of a rare bird for sure ! I had a chance to buy a 2-105 White new open station and that was narrow front and a gas too , Dad talked me out of buying it and I still kick myself for not spending the $8500 and buying it ! You did a good job on the fenders, Making sheet metal look good that was broken like that well I tip my hat to you sir ! Bandit
@@so.md.dirtfarmer2226 There was only a couple of things I really wished I would have gone ahead and bought, The White was one of them the other was in 1980 a Ford dealer had a new unsold 1979 Ford 3/4 ton 4x4 , 360 4 speed PS PB no radio but it was still a brand new truck and they wanted it gone ! I could have gotten it for $1800 out the door ! I wanted it so bad but mom and dad said NO ! A year later they got me to buy a 71 Nova for $1700 ! LOL I told them I would have been better off with the New Ford truck for $100 more ! LOL Well you live and learn but now if I want something I buy it and dont look back ! The past few years I've come acrossed several pieces of equipment that were bought new and had little use on them and I got them cheap enough it was about scrap price ! Got a JD 4400 gas combine with a 213 flex head with 1100 original hours on it for $1000 ! I might not be a big fan of them but at that price I can learn to like it ! Put all new belts on it and have had 3 trouble free harvests with it and I can used to this ! LOL That never happens ! Bandit
Hey Timmy! I bought the cutter used, curtain and framework was in rough shape, it was causing problems when l would cut my tall orchard grass or rye so l finally got rid of it. Cuts much better now. Back in about 2002 I saw a 4040 narrow front , sincro range at an auction, the local mechanic said that this man traded in a 4020 narrow for it. Back then it seem to bring 15k needless to say I didn't by it
Mr. Bill haye you triad a fuel filter for a chain saw you will have to file it to fit the hole in your fuel tank. We have a super a Farmall with that prodlum it will. Help good video
I wonder if that front pedistal mount the same as 20 series or if they actually cast one for the 30 series. Narrow front was definitely going to the wayside by that time. Cool tractor for sure.
Hey Jason! The way l was describing the issue l know it would sound like the governor ring gone bad and plugging the return line, but it is actually fuel not being able to get thru the line coming out of the tank. Had to blow back thru it to get the fuel to flow. Thanks for watching, and for your comment.
I hate "hi lift" jacks! They are designed to cause pain. I wasn't hit in the face by one, just a 2000 pound bull. But I think the smokey haze we are breathing may be instigating "summer colds", because I am clogged up as well. God Bless and keep at it!

We still had our team of Percheron work horses when I was a kid, Dad would use them to plow the garden in the spring. I was too young to have ever driven them myself. Hi Bill. Just found your channel awhile back and have watched several of your older videos and now this one and really like your channel. I also found your tractor pulling channel and really like it too. Reminds me of the tractor pulls at our county fair in Iowa when I was a young boy. They don't even have tractor pulls at that fair anymore. I grew up on a row crop farm in Iowa in the 60's and early 70's and we ran all John Deere equipment. You're in Southern Maryland, correct?

Definitely don't see very many 30 series narrow fronts I would love to find a 4430 narrow front quad range that would be a nice one to have. Friend of mine has 4030 but wide front nice tractors
With your love and knowledge of tractor pulling in general…. How hard or feasible would it be to put together a pulling series/group of just the N series fords and the Fergusons ? Seeing how they can almost be found in every backyard in this country and the only real use is to run a brush hog these days. They can be hauled with a minivan and a single axle 6x12 trailer that is in every front and backyard in this country as well. And of course if the group already owned a modern style sled just for these little but popular size tractors…. Please let me know your professional and unprofessional opinion on this ….. thank you
Well, l don't think you're going to find enough people interested in participating in a pulling series like that. We offer classes for that size tractor at our pulls and can't get more than 1 or2 to show up.
We called handy man jacks here on Louisiana better know as window makers and some guys was extra dangerous with them !! Those jacks and the old split rims hurt lots men !!

I didnt know that they were available without an adjustable steering wheel. Neat tractor.

The narrow fronts are more maneuverable in tite spaces, l've got a lot of 'em on this farm.
We put a strainer screen fromA sprayer boom nozzle on the stand pipe in the tank seems to fit tight and stays on pipe. Helps to clean fuel temp fix

I was 11 in 1976. Those fenders were probably kid seats. Don't know how else they could have gotten that bad.

I put it in the manger first, then on the floor. The one piece with more weeds than grass might go strait to bedding, they'll still pick over it.
