With 45 minutes in the battle of the bands and with an hour to go, I have seen and heard enough giving the battle but not the war to Southern so far with the war to be continued at some other time. It was the playing of the song Something in My Heart ❤ by Southern that got me also the glitter of the gold worn by those Southern Majorettes perhaps if the drum Majors would have shown some of their stuff who knows the outcome. Southern take a victory March the battle is yours.

One thing's for sure, they both are LOUD, with FAMU and Cookman now in the SWAC, they will give examples of how to play with a QUALITY, BALANCED and CLEAR sound. Typical FANs don't care about this as only TRUE musicians do...
Yeah I heard FAM this year and they were emulating some of the things these bands do i.e. 8va trumpets and it did not sound good at all. As a musician I can appreciate the the balance and clarity displayed here as well, it’s not just loud and these arrangements are a lot better than what is displayed in the MEAC bands.
Lmao. Famu nor bcu is top 5. Bcu is a lost cause didnt show up to any way games. Jsu embarrassed bcu in 2019 and again at hbotb. Jsu embarrassed famu in Miami. At this point, Alcorn, pvamu, and asu will and have demolished bcu and famu. Su/Jsu is top hbcu bands and top 2 swac bands.
