Not only does Faul’s voice have a different timbre, but his style, his phrasing is totally different. It’s not a matter of aging. As a performing musician myself, I think one’s style is akin to a fingerprint.
In this case, it’s not Faul’s song and he doesn’t know how to sing it. No emotional investment.

Back in the Beatles Hamburg days, pauls German girlfriend fell pregnant. Brian Epstein made payment to the girl and set up maintenance payments until she reached adulthood. Her mother provided recorded evidence of these payments to a court in the 90s when the girl wanted access to her father. When McCartney appeared in court the girls mother swore under oath that he was an imposter. McCartney was ordered to provide a sample for dna testing which produced a negative result.
      Go figure.......

Ok but have in mind that Billy's wings songs even the hard ones like "nineteen hundred eighty five" are sounding very similar to those early days on performances from the 00's. Billy never really change his voice because he knows a lot about technique. That's the main proof, he just doesn't sound like Paul

I tend to be a purist. The original recordings were the purist form. They had to steal their PA equipment to play. That kicked out Stuart Sutcliff out. There were just kids who lost control because of their managers and gf's and wives or maybe just because of the lost a close friend or child or relative or someone they pissed off maybe like Keith Moon? Dont' know.

@@God-Was-Bored I agree! There is no reason why Paul would sound soo different now, then he did in the early 60’s. For example, lead singers from 2 bands that I love, The Rolling Stones and the Monkees, still sound the same. Mick Jagger and Micky Dolenz! Their voices have hardly changed. I’m just surprised that no one has spoken the truth about Paul. I think Heather Mills wanted to but was too scared.

I was lucky enough to work wtth a talented, albeit demanding choir director who had a thing about singers who had to shorten notes in order to sing them. It was one thing for choir members to do it because they seldom did it all at the same time so it wasn't noticable, but quite another for a soloist. In a soloist, in indicated either a breathing (therefore a phrasing) issue, or the sign of a weak voice. For me that is shown in the difference between an aging or aged singer like Bing Crosby, Andy Williams, or even someone like George Harrison as he got older, and Frank Sinatra, Gary Puckett (as early as the 80s) who had to 'cheat' to sing the song, and Faul who has had to cheat since Day One.

  • @FlameRedCat

I think Bill rather cursed himself when he released his secret memoirs. In them, he repeatedly states, as though it was a fact, that he has always sung better than Paul. He even says that, due to his training, he could still out sing Paul, even in his 70s. Well, Billy’s voice was ok up to the age of 50 but never as good as he claimed. Now, in his 80s, it’s completely shot. Listening to him sing in concert is frankly embarrassing. Also, when he sings Paul’s old repertoire, it has always been obvious that he is not Paul, as you have just shown. Frequently Billy seems to struggle to stay in key, which then affects his ability to hold onto long notes. Maybe it’s too high for him? In the studio, during to making on Sgt Pepper they had to artificially raise the tonality of his singing (by speeding it up) because he was too low and didn’t sound like Paul. It’s more difficult to do that live, even now. In an acoustic song like “Here, there and everywhere“, Billy is exposed as an imposter every time.

There is an scene in the documentary Let it Be in which "Paul" finds a paper stuck to the Hofner bass, where some songs are annotated. John tells "Paul" it's a setlist from an old live performance. Paul didn't know what the role was about?! Did he have amnesia? I believe it was a purposeful message.

      2. Being a matter of national security, Paul's family was forced to keep everything secret.
      3. Billy will never do a DNA test with Mike McCartney because he will not be allowed to do such a thing. By the way, Billy did a DNA test with Paul's daughter from Germany and it came out negative.

    And in the end...
The noise we make, is equal to nothing in the face of the fact that whether it is Paul or Billy Pepper, the music was spectacular for decades.
Prior to 1966, Paul fathered a couple of kids while the Beatles toured around Europe and Hamberg that most don't know about. The label paid for their support in exchange for them keeping quiet. After 1966, the deal changed. If any of his out of wedlock children demanded a modern DNA or even a blood test to establish paternity, they'd be cut out of any will or inheritance. They're still alive today and have kept their mouths shut.
Today, what does it really matter. Most screaming fans of the Beatles back then are either deceased or in retirement homes today.
For myself, the issue is settled.
When Paul sat solo on the Ed Sullivan Show and performed "Yesterday", he had brown eyes.k It was clear cuz of the close ups. And he played the song in the key of G... Take my word for it, I've been a musician for over 50 yrs and have studied that film footage just to learn the original arrangement. A year later, "Paul" had hazel eyes and a much narrower face and tuned his guitar in what's known as a "drop D tuning" cuz he couldn't hit the original high notes of the vocals.
Our voices do not change that much over a year or two to require that much of a key change.
Also, "Paul" seemed to grow about three or four inches taller between 66 & 67. In early photos, he was about the same height as Lennon and his then time girlfriend.
On Sgt. Peppers pics, he's much taller than the rest of the group.
At this point, what does it really matter?
The world won't know the truth unless Ringo chooses to make a death bed confession.

Something I noticed looking at photos of Paul. He ALWAYS wore a watch, on his right wrist - to be expected since he was a lefty.
Faul most often doesn't wear a watch. When he does, it's bounced between both left and, to a lesser degree, on his right wrist. And when he reaches for things, he often leads with his right hand. This is perfectly normal for a right-handed person.
I'm glad I thought to look for his watch!

Then, one year later, May 1967, they met in New York. (Hm... It could be a chance meeting, but nearly exactly 1 year later they meet-up in the USA? Suspicious.)
When she was 4 months pregnant with their first (her second) daughter, they married March 12, 1969.
We do know that Lennon, Harrison, and Ringo all said McCartney was much like a controlling dictator (with Lennon a very close second).
It's known and documented that McCartney is/was abusively controlling (possibly, physically abusive) of all his girlfriends and wives - with the exception of his current wife. This wouldn't be surprising since it's well-known that Lennon was also abusive (physically) towards women - including his first wife. Yoko didn't put up with that shit, and all other Beatles did say Lennon needed a strong woman - and Yoko fit the bill.
Hm... Lennon stated Paul was dead ... After Lennon died, Harrison did state that Lennon and Paul and were both dead, too.
Lennon was stating the truth about the world powers, and I know the US Government killed him. They feared his influence and following would have led to a real Revolution.
Harrison made on multiple occasions, impactful, direct, barbed comments about the big change that happened in 1966, and that was when he became disillusioned with "The Beatles."
I do believe that our souls live on - some choosing to reincarnate, some not.
Do you think that since Paul died a horrific death, his spirit was called into Billy Shears body?
After all, Aleister Crowley is pictured on the SPLHCB album cover (of course with other deceased, as well as (then) alive, people).
"Giles Martin, the man behind this project explained the cover art, co-created by pop artist Peter Blake, is iconic. It depicts The Beatles surrounded by the images of famous figures from history and pop culture -- 'almost like ... AN IRISH WAKE,' (Colin) Fleming said."
      - www.npr.org May 28, 2017
"Sgt. Pepper marks the beginning of McCartney's ASCENDANCY as the Beatles' DOMINANT creative FORCE. ... ASSERTING INCREASING CONTROL ..."
      - en.m.wikipedia.org
Lennon stated that if people only knew that the world leaders are all terrible people; part of a very sick club; who does things and uses the people to achieve their goals of more money, more power, more control - like a sick game.
Sorry for the rambling. I never knew about this, and I'm glad you are vested in opening people's eyes and mind. Thank you.

On the david letterman show, David mentions to (Billy) the conspiracy that “you died and another guy replaced you.”
To that, (Billy) said frankly, “I’m the guy!” But David inferred it to mean (the Paul).
When Paul died, news hit the US and people mourned.
The guy in charge of burying Paul is credible, said he buried Paul’s body, that it was Paul.
Burying Paul would have been something anyone would remember and not take any pleasure in.
Epstein and others could not/would not let the Beatles enterprise die with Paul. I think we’re glad they didn’t let it just fizzle.
I’m sure the world was ecstatic to hear that the reports of his death were “a hoax,” that the Beatles would be touring again soon - it’s the power of denial, the preference for the artificial reality they wanted to be true. The “hoax” (Paul’s death) was quickly forgotten. The human mind is incredible.
Once Billy was writing his own material, things were easier for him. He’s done a magnificent job standing in, having had to fill Paul’s shoes and learn to play left-handed while singing.
I don’t see it so much as a fraud, but as a “the show must go on” success story.
Ringing is said to have admitted the facts. I think it would have been a difficult secret to keep, and the feeling of disrespect for Paul or carrying in without him, which might be softened with the symbols and images used to express the truth - to pay homage to Paul and to ease the pains associated with their loss and the burden of having deceived the world.
